What a little gem this is. Great camping, great scenery, very nice staff. Has beautiful hiking trails and a nice quiet lake. 5 miles from a grocery store so you don’t have to worry if you forget something. Would definitely recommend to others.

Deserves much more attention. Beautiful park. If you are looking for gold cheeked warblers, take the shinnery ridge trail and spend a lot of time at the beginning and end paved parts of the trail. Another spot that seems to be teeming with these birds is the woods behind campsite 10. Up there with E-​rock and inks lake state parks for me.

Great park for camping. Very quiet. Small. Only about 40 sites in all. Staff is friendly and helpful.
Scenic hiking. Fishing in stocked lake pretty good. We aren’t boaters, but the whole lake is a no wake zone. Swimming is allowed.
Grocery close by in Meridian, but the nearest discount store (aka WalMart) and big stores are about 45 min. away in Hillsboro.
Definitely an undiscovered gem in the state parks.
