VERY slow service. Food wasn’t great. One of us was served the wrong meal and the waiter argued with him over it. Took 2 and a half hours for something that should have taken under an hour.

I have been here a few times now and every time i go the food is amazingly delicious! What impresses me even more is how friendly and personable the staff is. When we left everyone from bartender to waitress to the chefs said thankyou and wished us a good night. I also must mention that their restrooms are very clean and aesthetically pleasing !

I don’t know what happened within the last few months, but this used to be my favorite hibachi place. Emphasis on used to. Last week my boyfriend and I went and got hibachi from the kitchen — not sitting in front of the chef. Huge mistake. Huge. The food quite clearly had been cooked well in advance — a day or so possibly — and tasted old. The chicken had so much sauce on it — likely to hide the fact that it was made so far in advance — that my dog would not even eat it after we got home. The rice was cold and clumped together and the vegetables were limp. So dissapointed in Saki Mura. I’ve been here several times and it was never like this but quality has definitely been slowly declining over the last year.

This restaurant is really great!!! I love the Japanese Pizza!!! Because I am going in a diet and I allowed myself have a cheat meal today. I chose this restaurant and this was really good!!! Especially the Japanese pizza!!! The impressive thing should repeat many times! Try the Pizza! Besides, my friend said the Chicken Hibachi was fantastic!

This place is a fave for my husband and myself. We are frequent customers and the owner always greets us when we comes in and finds us a spot as quickly as possible, even during their busy times. Their sushi is great — get the crazy tuna — and I’m saying this coming to CT from New York and being a sushi snob lol. Their hibachi is delicious and is also incredibly plentiful servings. The décor is lovely and the staff is friendly. This is a great place for anything from a post work happy hour to a date to a full family celebration.

For a little local place, their food is delicious, sushi is so fresh, the hibachi staff are great with kids and they are well priced. We take our kids and parents all the time and it’s always a great time!

I’ve been to Sakimura a few times, most recently on Saturday. I pulled up to the parking lot and noticed the sign was off, so I wasn’t sure if they were open or not until I saw people sitting in side. When we left a few hours later, the sign was on – I’m thinking it’s on a timer to turn on and no one has reset it since the sun is setting earlier. Anyway, it was confusing, and my date thought he had gone to the wrong place since the sign was off. Once inside, our experience was great. The staff seated us at a hibachi table right away and we only had to wait a few minutes for the show to begin. I love seeing the differences between the chefs — some are all about the big flames and theatrics, others focus more on the sake and tossing food into people’s mouths. Either way, it’s fun to watch. We both ordered the chicken hibachi, with came with a generous side of fried rice and noodles. Everything was cooked to perfection(and I got an entire full meal out of my leftovers). We stayed a little over our welcome — the staff came twice to get our bill when we hadn’t even looked at it yet, but we never felt pressured to leave. It was clean, busy, inexpensive, and a fun night out. I’ll be back again.

I have eaten here a few times and honestly, it’s the only acceptable place me and hubby prefers our sushi from.

Our night started by being greeted by the friendly hostess. We ordered the Filet Mignon and Chicken Hibachi and were pleasantly surprised by how delicious it was; the meat was tender, nothing was over salted, and the vegetables were not over done. They handled my mother’s food allergies without a hassle. Overall, a phenomenal experience and will definitely be returned soon.

The food is pretty good but the service is terrible! I’ve been here quite a few times and this time, it was bad. My brother dropped his chopsticks on the floor and the waiter came by and put them back on the table! A different waitress was helping and she was great! I would give 5 stars if service matched the food.

We are still coming to dinner a few times per month. I still love the food. It is consistently good. The manager always stops by to say hello. The waiters remember us when we return. I love the rolls and the bento boxes. The drinks are always good. I did have hibachi a few weeks back. The chefs are fun and the food was good too.

With limited sushi options, I had heard good things about Sakimura from a friend and decided to try it out the other night for their 50% special with a friend. You know the saying«you get what you pay for»? For them it should be «you get ¼ of what you pay for». As soon as we sat down the waitress appeared, handed us menus, and was back less than a minute later asking if we were ready. I asked for a few more minutes but ordered a tea; it was horrible. It was cold and flavorless — it tasted like someone had reused an old teabag to make the tea with faucet water. After waiting for 30 minutes in a near-empty restaurant our food came. The rolls were pretty standard — some salmon rolls, California, etc. but they were poorly rolled and below average in taste. Immediately after that they brought the sushi — it was AWFUL. It tasted like the sushi you find at an all you can eat sushi buffet — poorly made, dry, VERY rubbery, and old tasting. I couldn’t believe how terrible it was. We ended up finishing the rolls but left the rest of the sushi it was so bad. Hopefully their hibachi and dinners are better than their sushi. In the end, Wallingford’s sushi scene didn’t disappoint; it was exactly as terrible as I had expected. I strongly suggest not coming here for any type of raw fish and maybe instead heading to Middletown or New Haven.

I come once or twice a month on Friday after the gym. I haven’t been to the hibachi side yet. I usually sit at the sushi bar. The sushi chefs are fun to watch and always pleasant. I have always enjoyed the sushi, sashimi as well as the rolls. The fish is fresh and flavorful. The service is good and the prices are reasonable. I would recommend this place wholeheartedly I hope you enjoy yourself as much as I have.

I have always enjoyed the hibachi here. It all depends on who you get as to how much you will enjoy the experience. No offense but it does matter how much English the chef speaks, or how confident he is with his English-speaking ability. I have gone on dates, double-dates, brought friends & family here, including my toddler. Everyone has thoroughly enjoyed it. My Dad still talks about our dining experience from here years ago! The service always has been consistently good. Food is solid, and I really like the ambiance. Since dining with our daughter can be challenging right now, it has been some time since I’ve dined here, as this is a great place to go to sit and enjoy your meal. But I would highly recommend Sakimura to someone who may be contemplating going there.

Dazzling décor, there’s a fake tree inside, When it comes to sushi, the chefs really take pride. The hibachi crew was really giving their all, I had a very nice dinner in this lil’ strip mall. Came on a Saturday night for dinner. The parking lot was full and the line was out the door, but there were several open tables in the dining area. Turns out all of the people in the waiting area were waiting for hibachi, and for good reason: the hibachi chefs knew how to entertain. I saw one of them light the top of his hat on fire… talk about showmanship. Ordered some appetizers and sushi for our meal. The Rocky Shrimp was bigger than Jumbo Shrimp… they were more like Dumbo Shrimp(because Dumbo is an elephant and elephants are really big?) They were big, crispy, and the sauce was tangy and tasty. The sushi was very fresh and the prices were pretty average. I got a Spicy Lover Roll and Godzilla Roll and devoured them both. The décor was very warm and cozy including a giant artificial Japanese Maple overhanging the sushi bar. There was also a nice, big bar, but there were no chairs around the bar. Seemed like they were trying to utilize the space to fit more dining tables instead– makes sense. Our waitress didn’t smile at us the entire night and kept kind of disappearing. Not the greatest service, but the food was primo.

Not bad. I am a bit past the hibachi mimic but everyone else seems to enjoy it. The food itself is good salty but what else would you expect. Good chefs probably above average. Deffinatly. Better than others I’ve seen. The sushi is good, a little over priced but good. Overall an average experience hence the 3 stars.

Christmas Day dinner. The sushi was very fresh and that’s really all you need from a good sushi restaurant. I posted a picture to show what I ordered. I was especially happy they had uni. This is reason enough to come here every day!

Spicy crunchy tuna and shrimp/cucumber was tasty. As was the beef negemaki app was good also. Odd thing is they offer soft shell crab roll for dinner but would not make it for lunch. It’s discouraging when a restaurant is not being flexible with the lunch menu. The place had 4 other people in the entire restaurant. Don’t know if they are understaffed for lunch but no one came back to see if everything was ok or refill our water and tea. Also seemed like the waitress and waiter had an attitude for some reason. Last thing is the place was warm inside. We asked if they can open a door or turn on the AC the waitress said okay… alas, it was never done.
