Wonderful service, didn’t know it was vegetarian when I walked in because I was starving but has delicious menu items to choose from. I’d stop by whenever on Mercer Island!

I was just looking around & checking out the menu when one of the friendly staff members greeted us and invited my daughter & I to sit down. I’m glad that I did. We tried the hummus plate & ratatouille. I would have preferred to see feta instead of lettuce with the hummus, but the ratatouille was great(although the rice seemed reheated perhaps? Something was different). I was happy to see more vegetarian options than most other restaurants. I’d like to go back for a date night with my husband to listen to live music & try one of those gorgeous desserts!

Decent food. Okay service. I went here with a friend who’s strict kosher and it’s one of the few places she could eat in the city. Not sure I would go back on my own. But it was good for what it was.

Delicious food, friendly, prompt service. Took kids here and they loved it. Free wifi too. Kosher restaurant. Clean, spacious, and easy parking right outside. Highly recommended

Wow, I’m so excited to have such a great kosher pizza parlor to take my kosher eating relatives to when they visit! The veggie pizza was so delicious. Lots of veggies, the right amount of cheese and sauce. The Greek salad was delicious too. A kosher cruise has docked the day I came for the first time so it was busier than normal, but the staff stayed positive and were all smiles.

Owners are weird, a$$ kissing machine! Food is… eeeh. If I were you, I’ll save you a trip, rather, just go to the next fast food place. Better service, management, and food, perhaps. SERIOUSLY!!! Their pizza is not as I have expected, it’s almost like a self service, but you are getting food delivered. Their desert selection came from another order up, not fresh made, only their cookies, and some of the pastries are home made. Ok, bottom line… they are C.R.A.P. Not coming back, won’t ever come back.

I tried it out for the first time on my way to a Superbowl party. The guy there was very accommodating, especially since I had 3 young kids there. He gave us lot of choices that were off the menu for the kids. Good food, good portions. The only issue was it was so off the beaten path, and had a difficult time finding the place. But would edefinitely go back.

The food is 5 stars. Everything is REALLY amazing. I love their mushroom pizzas and fries. The pizza is amazing… thin and crispy yet doughy in the crust which I love. The place is kosher though so don’t expect to get any meat and cheese combo. The service however is always lacking. The girl who takes the orders is really mean sometimes and the guy who calls out your orders for pick up isn’t nice either. I would eat here everyday if I could but I just can’t when the people scare me. The place is hidden inside an office building but if you can find it, try it. The food is quite good!

I stopped in to have breakfast here this morning and had a huevos rancheros dish that was made in its own pan and was very good. The person I was with had an omelet that was also excellent. The person who waited on us was very friendly and was eager to please. I’ll be back.

The menu here looks awesome and I tried(for 3 months) to get them to work with me to cater a large company breakfast since they advertised that this is something they do well and can accommodate just about anything. After talking with both owners/managers several times, they each promised to get a menu and a quote to me so that a decision could be made… I’m still waiting on that email. I went with another caterer but still needed a few items from them — I called the day before to pre-order since I needed it early AM — they told me they couldn’t do this but that they open at 6:30am. They do not. Which I found out early the next morning. Nice. There were people there but no one was willing to help until 7am when they actually open. Ok — I get it. So clearly the service sucks but typically a restaurant can make up for that if they have good food. This is the 2nd time I’ve ordered various items from them and they food is mediocre at best, flavorless and overcooked seems to be the norm for them. Their coffee is foul as well. Overall impression has been terrible — food is subpar and service is abysmal.

The pizza crust here was tasteless and full air. Tons of toppings but no substance. What more do you want me to say. We went hoping to enjoy a falaffel only to find they ONLY serve them on MONDAY’S — really?! Very disappointing. I gave it two stars because it was clean, which most Kosher restaurants I’ve been to have not been. So I thought they earned the extra star for that reason only.

I dont know what Eliana H. experienced because it was the exact opposite with me. I saw that Island Crust Café had just won Mercer Island business of the year award. So, I went with a friend yesterday and we had a great experience. Very friendly and warm atmosphere with some of the best customer service I have experienced. We both shared the Blackened salmon and eggplant Parmesan and the food was extremely fresh, tasty and most important of all kosher. This café is a definite go to place for me from now on and I have no reservations of recommending this establishment to anybody. In the kosher world of dinning, customer service and good food is a rarity and this place is a definite gem.

Used to enjoy the island crust in its first year. Now quality of food is down. Gave it a few more tries. Restaurant was not busy. Got cold onion rings. Pizza was made incorrectly. Asked specifically for no onions on the pizza as one of us in the group is allergic. Pizza was brought to table. Told waitress that we asked for no onions Waitress was not going to offer to fix the pizza. Sent pizza back to be remade. Pizza came back within a few minutes, most of the onions were pulled off. Not satisfyingly done. Expected a fresh pizza like we asked. Also, when nachos arrived to table, chips and cheese were burnt. Food quality has gone downhill. Sad.

This is a great little café located in what appears to be the only office building on the Island. It’s a Kosher spot, so you won’t find any meat products(however they do offer seafood), however their Pizzas, pastries and especially their Falafel(Falafel Mondays are legit!) definitely satisfy the most discerning of palates. For a café, their meals can some times take a little longer than expected to prepare, however i’ve always been pleased with the meals, so the extra minute or two doesn’t seem to phase me. Keep in mind that since this is a Kosher spot, they are closed on all the major Jewish holidays. Either way, I’m a semi-regular here and rather enjoy it. Considering the other eating options on the island, this is a pretty good standard.

A great place to grab some really good food. Tucked away from the street located on the ground floor of an office building, Island Crust Café is quickly becoming a destination restaurant. Centrally located right by the I-90 on Mercer Island it’s a great meeting place for Eastsiders and Seattlites. Although they are known for their pizza, garlic fries, salads, soups & daily specials like enchiladas, fresh salmon & falafel, they also do a great job on their desserts and coffees. Wine and beer are also available. Don’t forget to try some of their soft serve ice cream… it’s delicious! Private room is available for affordable parties or gatherings. or they will deliver for larger orders. Sorry to see some of the earlier reports with regard to service. The ownership has changed and my experience is that they go out of their way to please.

Thank you Island Crust! Here is my official rating : 1 * for being there 1 * for enduring mobs of people with a smile 1 * for decent and sometimes great pizza 1 * for being in the restaurant business 1 * for your location. Far enough to make it a date close enough to drop in after a softball game! Island Crust you deserve more love than you get!

This gets some stars for being Vaad certified Kosher. Which is important to my daughter and her mother, as they are Jewish. It’s not as important to me, but it’s nice to see additional businesses gain certification.(Pabla will remain my favorite, I think.) They are also vegetarian. The pizza was not fantastic, but it’s not terrible either. The crust is a little cracker-y for my liking. They don’t skimp on the toppings, at least. I don’t know where all of the grease on one of their boxes comes from — the pizza is dryer than I like as well. So, if keeping Kosher is important to you, you’ve got a pizza place. If having a strictly vegetarian option is important to you, you’ve got a pizza place. If you don’t care about either of those things, I might suggest you find the nearest Pagliacci instead.
