Worst place ever!!! People BARELY speech English! We walked in they sat us and we got up for a 1 course and the food is just so meh like there’s nothing good but its food I guess and so we get up for our second course and they cleared our table we lost our drinks our food we were still eating and we had out ticket on the table still??? Like the place is so tiny you could see us we are a family of 4 walking around how do you miss that??? And who comes to a buffet and gets one course and leaves in 10 mins I mean come on! But as if the food and the stupidity wasn’t bad enough they almost REFUSED to get us new drinks?!? Like um you cleared my table after we almost forced them to bring us drinks they bring us the wrong drinks that we had just told him??? As that was a result in not speeching English! After about 10 minutes of trying to get drinks we finally get them! And we talked to the front desk lady about our experience hoping for an apology SHEDIDN’T EVENLOOKATUS?!? WORSTPLACEINTHEWORLD! ITSDIRTYANDBADFOODJUSTDON’T GOTHERE! And this was not the first time there this was our second and the food is worse and worse dot waste your money or your time!

Let me start off by saying I’m only giving this restaurant a 1-star because zero stars wasn’t an option. The food served at this establishment is mediocre and extremely greasy. The customer service is horrible, my most recent visit here I witnessed our«waitress» seat a couple at a booth, who then asked if they could be seated elsewhere because the table was dirty. The waitress replied with«no, I’m busy» and then walked away and sat down at her own booth and proceeded to talk on the phone and eat her food. She took over 15 minutes to wipe down our table once we were seated because it was sticky, and took even longer when we asked for refills on our drinks. I’ve given this place a few chances and everytime I visit even the customers are unpleasant, many seem extremely rude and have no problem staring and making remarks about other customers — not the restaurants fault, but if these are the kind of people that constantly hang out here, then I’d rather not come again. The only decent thing about this buffet is the chocolate fountain, but they should have a worker supervising the fountain as I’ve witnessed many parents allowing their kids to dip their fingers into the chocolate and continue doing so after licking their fingers.

I’ve been here 20+ times and unfortunately the food keeps getting more mediocre. Last time I came here the plates were dirty and the food was just okay. Pro: I do like the chow mein and rice. My mom and I mostly go for the shrimp and crabs. The also have chocolate fondue fountain!

This place is definitely one of the worse buffets I’ve ever been to. They don’t have much food here to begin with and on top of that, their food is horrible quality. I don’t think any of the food there was appealing to eat at all. I would NOT recommend this place to anyone. Although Hibachi isn’t the best in Merced neither, it’s definitely better than this place and has way better food.

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. Not only is the food not that great but the staff here is extremely rude!!! They didn’t have wet floor signs on the floor and I ended up slipping and hurting my knee. All they could do is look at me like I was stupid. After our meal, which they were hurrying us to finish we decided to get our kids a toy from their gift shop. The lady was yelling at us that she closes at 8:30 which it was only 8 at the time, she also screamed at us because our son was holding a toy that he really really wanted and she started to try and yell at my son. We were planning on buying the toy and he wasn’t touching anything else but the toy. All in all it is a terrible place! Don’t come here if you dislike being treated like your a piece of dirt on the floor.

Went here the other day and it was okay. I give it a 2 star. Sushi wasn’t that good, I’ve had better at other buffet restaurant. The service wasn’t the best, it was slow and my waitress wasn’t on it. I’ve taste better food at other Buffett restaurant.

Hubby wanted dinner and I tagged along with my 4 and 8 year olds. It was 8:20pm and the food was dry, hard, and cold. The Chinese lady told me to only get two pieces of stir fry shrimps each for my kids as the pot was low. I asked her nicely for a new batch and she said«no more». There was nothing else or even fresh to eat so I didn’t eat and told them to take my portion out of the tab. The Mexican waiter said, «hey lady you can order something if you don’t see there», but I already lost my appetite. Shitty place and no service. I wish Unilocal would allow me to give zero star. I will never come here again.

Went to lunch here today because hibachi grill didn’t open until 11 and we were in a time crunch. Their sign said they were open at 11 as well but we walked right in at 10:40 and were seated right away. The sushi area didn’t have any actual sushi no raw fish of any kind. I have never been very impressed with their selection of sushi even the California rolls are just bland. I am a shrimp fanatic so that is the first place I go. I was pleasantly surprised the shrimp have gotten bigger than in the past. This makes deheading and peeling them worth the effort. In the past they were the small ones and by the time you were done with the work it was barely half a bite. The restaurant was clean and the food area was nice as well. The food was warm not hot. The sweet and sour chicken pieces were a little doughy but not horrible. They had strawberries this time so I enjoyed chocolate covered strawberries for desert. Overall it’s just a so so place to eat. Price was decent $ 7.75 for all you can eat lunch. Ps… I love the lighted purple tree by the food.

I seriously wish i could give negative stars. My friend treated me to this place for lunch, we got our food sat down and started to eat… i look down and found a dead roach in my chow main after having two bites. We called the waitress over and she took it to the manager and he said he would give us 20% off, SERIOUSLY!!! we left and went elsewhere.

Good food and good service. Some food was almost cold but still good. Didn’t really feel the sushi but it was displayed very nicely! The environment is nice.

Ew. Ew. Ew. Ew. After eating here last night, we all went home and showered twice!!! Nasty all around! How are they still in business??? HORRIBLE service. Never got a drink refill. Disgustingly cold food. Empty food trays. Absolutely horrific. I will be calling FDA on Monday!

Hungry for chinese food? Look no further. China Grand Buffet is the place to satisfy your hunger for chinese cuisine. At a reasonable price, this buffet is my favorite. There are many selection of dishes to choose. I recommend you to try the sweet and sour fish. Its very delicious and unique. China Grand Buffet introduces a brand new addition of a hibachi grill and chocolate fountain.

Wow what a difference a few weeks make. My son and I visited a few weeks ago and had a pretty good experience. Food was good, and the service was good too. My whole family i visited last night, and it was a complete 180. Hardly any of the food was being refilled on the buffet table, most of the trays were damn near empty, and the remaining food was dried out and unappetizing. My family and other customers watched as 5 employees were standing in a circle chatting for over 15 minutes ignoring customers. *sigh *

Past visits have been good. This time was not a good experience. Food was under par, soggy, and minimal.

What kind of «Buffet» charges you for not eating ALL your food? It’s absolutely ridiculous, especially how the food isn’t even all that great. It is almost $ 4 per pound if you don’t eat everything on your plate. I went there and was hoping to try something new so I filled my plate with a variety of food(not so much because I had known about their policy). As soon as I took a bite, I nearly wanted to vomit. The food pretty much tasted like it had been sitting out for a long time. With the food on my plate, I felt like I was forced to eat all of it so I wouldn’t be charged any more than what I’ve already paid.

Our friends come here often and they said the food was so good. Soaybe my expectations were too high, but my husband and I agree this is our first and last time eating here. The food was not good maybe because it had been sitting out for a while. And they charge you for food you don’t eat! I’ve never been to a place that charges you for wasting lol. The only plus was I got two fortune cookies instead of one lol

I went to this restaurant with my coworkers based on one of their recommendations. There was a very large variety of food. More than most valley buffets that I’ve been to. The food tasted alright, however due to the large variety, I am not sure how fresh certain dishes were. The food did not taste bad. It’s just not something I would rave about. The lunch buffet was around $ 7 without a drink which wasn’t so bad. However, there were signs around the restaurant that said if you wasted food, you would be charged additional to the buffet price. This was a little outrageous for a buffet to say this. Long story short is I might return if my coworkers convince me, but I don’t think I would go out of my way to eat here again.

My Caucasian friend loves this place… having weekly visit. So I ended up having dinner here 3 times total, in 2 years, with last 2 visits a week apart. It’s really not much different than most good Chinese buffets, giving you the money worth. I didn’t Unilocal prior but most reviewers described the scenario reasonably well, for better or worse. typical dishes for Caucasians in a typical setting. There were a few items not usually found at other places… like stirred fried crab and stuffed crab shell. I did enjoy the fried plantains. There was no steam rice, but fried rice in the big rice cooker. So diner, it’s slightly above average with decent selections of fresh vegetables and fried foods. You can stay reasonably healthy or going for full heart attack, or somewhere in between. Your choice :)
