Lemme put’t like this, Grab the fam/friends Cold beers Avocados(which you can also buy here). Buy a chicken or two w everything (Really good rice, beans, and hot tortillas) Always ask for 2 or 3 more salsas. Trust me, you’ll regret’t ifya don’t. It disappears quick, it’s that good! Head picnic under the shade of a tree at a park, sunny beach, or jus stay home. Man, it is so damn tasty. I’ve yet to find a better flavored grilled chicken! Mi Rancho on Roosevelt is 2nd, but these chickens don’t sit under a heat lamp. They fly right off the grill hot and fresh still juicy! I don’t go there for anything else, but they do have a good ice cream by the scoop selection and some other butchered meats as well as produce. Parking is tough sometimes cuz it shares a tiny parking lot next to a taqueria, but jus park behind them at the neighboring Chavez market. We don’t bother w plates and cutlery! It doesn’t last that long anyway. Everything goes right in the middle. Your tortilla’s your plate, your lips are your napkins! Hands off the thighs though, those are my fave!

This place is criminally under represented on Unilocal. It should have at least 50 reviews. I’m not prone to hyperbole: THISISTHEBESTROTISSERIECHICKENANYWHERE. Regardless of style or type of chicken you go for, you won’t get it better than here. If you are skeptical, just pull up in the parking lot and roll down your window. The smell will force you inside. $ 20 even will get you a big chicken chopped up, a container of delicious pinto beans he has in a slow cooker all day, a container of rice, salsa and corn tortillas. I usually pass when it comes to beans but these are off the hook. Recommendation: put down some beans, add rice, add some chicken that you shred/break up, and put the salsa on top. Eat it all at once. Unbelievably good. Just give this place a try.

Everyone likes rotisserie chicken, right? Or at least everyone tolerates it. It’s convenient but it is usually dry and acts as a palette for the flavors around it. Personally, I usually pull it off the bone and mix it into some fried rice or something. I must now express my thanks to Pollos al Carbon for opening my eyes after so many years of mediocre chicken. This stuff is on another planet and if I were a chicken chef, I’d beg the proprietors of this fine establishment for a summer internship. For $ 20 even, you get a delicious whole spatchcocked bird, a generous tub of rice(tasty«Mexican» rice), a tub of whole pinto beans(a little soupy but easily remedied), some tasty red chile salsa and a stack of tortillas. Back to the chicken: it’s moist, meaty, flavorful and you can really taste«el carbon.» Chicken doesn’t get any better than this. Next time you’re on Middlefield, do yourself a favor and look for the big, white chicken.

This place is pretty darn good and very reasonably priced good-quality barbecue style chicken. Cooked on Mesquite. The smell is what drove me into the store. It is rather difficult to navigate your way in the store parking wise. They have a menu very similar to El Pollo Loco but the food is way better and it’s less expensive. It is my favorite place to buy barbecue chicken. It is strictly take out there is no dining in. .

This place is a trip. It’s on the side of this market center, with a little shack on the side. Dont go into that area, go into the market and order. You can get half or whole wood roasted chickens with beans, rice, salsa and tortillas. Excellent for a group of people if you want old school la brasa cooking

This is relatively hole-in-the-wall place but its mmm-good. Whenever I drove by this place, I had to stop and get some chicken. They are right on the street. Pretty hard to ignore the BBQ smoke and the aroma’s of the mesquite coming from this place that just pull you in. They offer a family meal that includes a whole chicken with beans, mexican rice, salsa and tortillas for like 16 bucks which is pretty reasonable. Why not 5 stars because they always have a grumpy! guy at the register
