I came with three coworkers for lunch on a Thursday. The restaurant has a little parking lot next to it; I found street parking around the corner easily too. I ordered a pollo asado regular burrito. It came out on a pretty plate, cut in half, with some radish slices, pickled peppers, and utensils. It was wrapped amazingly tight and neat. The meat was somewhat dry, and I found myself often pouring salsa on top of the burrito before taking bites. We also got complimentary chips and spicy salsa. Looking at the other diners, it seems like their soup if the most popular item on the menu so if I came back, I would try that. Amusingly, I didn’t know that I had to pay at the counter when I ordered, before eating, so I just sat down at our table at that time, and at the end of the meal when we were about to go I realized my mistake and quickly rushed up to the counter to pay. They appeared to be aware that I hadn’t paid, but didn’t seem perturbed at all. A chill restaurant.

I’m an addict. I’ve gotten a ton of super burritos from here and every time they’re consistently perfect. SUPER quick to go service, nice atmosphere, friendly staff. I’m pretty picky with burritos and this place became my favorite on middlefield.

I will be short and to the point; their 5 star burritos are not as people claim them to be. One Saturday afternoon I ordered take out to devour in private and when I finally took the first bite of their chicken burrito, I was extremely disappointed. A super burrito comes with crema, salsa, guacamole, but my burrito was dry. The chicken was also dry, as if it has been sitting out for a whole day. Since I was already home I didn’t want to drive back to exchange this bastard burrito. There was no guacamole, only a big chunk of avocado stuck in the middle. If this is people’s impression of a 5 star burrito then I have no faith in humanity. The additional star goes to their salsa, which was the hero to my lunch. Every bite I took, I had to pour salsa on my burrito.

One of the best breakfast burritos I’ve had(comparable or might I even say better than Southern California burritos). Friendly service, clean, great prices.

This compares to San Diego Mexican food. Super burrito was great, chips are homemade and out of this world. Will be returning.

Wow, 5STAR Burrito, if they had a 6th star option I would give it to them.

I chose this place based on other reviews. We got the quesadilla, chorizo with eggs, and carnitas taco. All were more than above average and exceeded our expectations. I would certainly come back again. One thing I would like to address is the service. It was a negative in several reviews. I strongly disagree. I thought the waitresses were super nice and the food came out promptly.

First time here. I have followed one if the best cooks in Redwood City. When I found out Lupita was working here, I had no doubt in my mind about the quality of the food. I came to lunch and had a chicken quesadilla on a handmade tortilla. Hands down the best in town. Prices are great and the portions of food are large. Worth the wait and money. Everything is so fresh and place us very clean. You can order online and pick up.

Not for the faint of the heart. The shrimps of devil(camarones de la diabla) could cause tummy problems for those with sensitive stomach linings, but they taste great before you realize your tongue is burnt. The dollop of fresh guacamole on the salad helps to cool it down some. A phoned-in order takes about 20 minutes to be ready and service is appropriate for a local small eatery.

Bright, causal atmosphere with chalkboard menu and friendly service. The food is wonderfully flavorful with hearty portions. I had camarones del diablo, and it was deliciously fiery. My friend had the ceviche, which he like a lot, as well. The beans are rice were simple and delicious. I wish I still lived nearby!

We just had their burritos catered to us today and let me say these burritos were some of the best I have had! So good I wrote in my food blog about them. You can read more in detail at

I got the fully loaded steak burrito, and I thought it was a little dry… there wasn’t enough sour cream. Even as I finished half the burrito, the center did not have much sour cream(making this really hard to eat even with my horchata!) Luckily, I asked for more sour cream and they gave it for free.(Most places would charge). + Super friendly service + Free chip & dip with your food!

Only reason I cant give five stars is because I’m on a quest for the world’s best burrito and I need to be open to the possibility that it’s still out there. I ordered the pollo asado extra spicey and they DELIVERED. Yikes it was hot. Would eat here again in a heart beat. They don’t do nachos which is a shame but with other dishes this good, who really cares. This place can hang with the best the Mission in SF has to offer, including the much espoused El Farolito(which I’d rank only slightly higher than this place).

Solid lil ma&pa restaurant right around the corner from the workplace. Looks like a local joint — I was in & out & my burrito was packed up and ready to go by the time I got there abt 5 min after I called. The girl was really nice :) Ordered a super burrito w/carne that included chips & salsa. It was good, but not«out of this world» good…3 stars for now.

Mexcal has some pretty legit mexican food, although you’d expect that in a pretty mexican part of town. The Carne Asada taco and Carnitas burrito were all extremely tasty with some well cooked, great quality meat. Definitely would come back to Mexcal when in the area

Having found out initial place of lunch closed, we went in here. Small taqueria, small menu. Decided to do an assortment of tacos. They ran out of chorizo, and pastor. So i ended up with carnitas, asada and lengua. Good chips and salsa to start, solid tacos across the board. Place is super clean and has the obligatory soccer channel on tv. Hopefully next time i can get some of the carne selections i want.

I am always on a quest for a great breakfast burrito with chorizo. This place is LEGIT. This is a large breakfast burrito stuffed to capacity. I couldn’t finish this burrito and ate about half. With that being said it’s stuffed with chorizo, beans and rice. I know no eggs(that’s why I couldn’t give it five). But nonetheless it’s delicious and the chorizo was nicely cooked(I’ve been to places not so much…). We ate there and it’s a fairly small place with seating for maybe 20 people. You’re seated and they take your order. Service was fine and the food came out in a short time. They’re other items on the menu(tacos and other burritos) and I would definitely try it again.

Hubby and I came here for lunch and both ordered the shrimp Diablo(13.75 each) and he also had a Horchatas. The drink in came in an icy cold glass pitcher which for 1.75 was big enough for at least two people. The service was fast and friendly. The shrimp were jumbo size and there were many of them. Unfortunately, the shrimp were overcooked and the sauce too salty. It came with rice, beans, and guacamole. Overall, we were pleased and will definitely come back. A little pricey though because lunch with tips and taxes came out to a little over 37 dollars for two people.
