Had a decent lunch here… the service was prompt and friendly and it wasn’t too crowded on a Tuesday afternoon. Ordered a Burger with Sweet Potato Fries. The bun was nicely toasted but the burger was very processed and bland. However, the sweet potato fries were AMAZING! Only downside was because it’s a historic inn, it felt dated… and I felt a bit out of place because besides the waitstaff, we were the only people there under the age of 65… But, that was also a plus because our meal was peaceful and the clientele was well behaved.

Went for Christmas dinner and will not return. We waited AGES to be seated, well past our reservation time and with plenty of open tables. After a while a guy with a Santa hat told us they were incredibly busy and would seat us as soon as they could. He was hovering about refilling water, checking on tables, disappearing into the kitchen, refilling water again — basically doing anything he could to not seat us and appear busy. When we were finally seated the service was fine and even though they told us the kitchen was very backed up, the food came out quickly. However the food wasn’t that great. For a $ 69 fixed price dinner I expect more than a half of an overcooked tiny Cornish game hen. With drinks and tax our total was almost $ 100/person and wasn’t close to worth that, even on a Christmas night.

Absolutely loved this spot in Mendocino — though I did not have dinner here, we went for drinks and a few appetizers at the bar. It has a very«old school» classy type of feel to it, and though I am sure it gets a lot of tourist traffic, it does not feel that way. The dining room is very large and open, and the bar area is also quite big, but quaint. The staff was very nice, and the place was pretty busy — I would suggest reservations if you plan on having dinner. One of the owners or managers was there, keeping a watchful eye on everything, which was nice to see — you can just tell there is care taken to make sure customers are happy, which gives one a welcoming feeling. I would definitely come back here if I make it back to the west coast!

We absolutely fell in love with this sleepy coastal town. Although there are many eateries here, we found that restaurant choices were quite limited. We came for a weekend getaway and didn’t feel like having dinner in a bar and preferred a more romantic restaurant setting. We ended up here and we couldn’t be more pleased. When we arrived, there were no patrons here, kind of surprising because we’re so accustomed to crowded settings and waiting for a table. We sat at a cute romantically set table and having the restaurant to ourselves, was quite a treat. I opted for the special which was a pistachio crusted snapper with a mushroom, broccoli risotto. Decadent! Hubs ordered the prime rib dinner with garlic mashed potatoes and grilled asparagus and the beef was melt in yo mouth scrumptious! Both dinners were delicious. The cream of mushroom soup, on the other hand, was not as appetizing as I anticipated. I highly recommend you give them a try. From the food to the fantastic service and Victorian setting, you won’t be disappointed.

The French onion soup was delicious. Made fresh daily. The Ceasar salad with grilled prawns was delicious as well. We slit a thing sliced beef tritip au jue and it was tender and plenty of food . Great service by Jesus.
