I love it here. The area is not«ghetto» like the other reviewer says, it’s actually really quiet and the complex itself has a lot of green space around it. There is a planned subdivision on one side that is a «construction site» but it’s been inactive for over a year, and like I said, it’s residential anyway. There’s a fenced in subdivision on the side toward Germantown and across the street there’s a church and a school. Wal-Mart and the«discount car wash» are on Winchester, about half a mile away. And the grounds are very well kept for Memphis apartments. To why I moved here; this complex feels more«country» than most in Memphis. You get a garage with your unit, which was my main draw, but the complex itself has also been under the same management since it was opened, so it’s not switching hands constantly and they actually have to take care of it. The residents are very diverse, which, for me, is a plus, in contrast to the other reviewer evidently. There is tons of room to walk my dog, and there is a wooded area bordering the complex on two sides. And, whereas this complex has the feel of some that I looked at in Mississippi, it is right off 385 and I can get to the University of Memphis(where I work) in less than 20 minutes… and if I don’t have to go into the 240 loop, everything I need is right here in the Southwind/Balmoral area. I love it.
