I called on a Tuesday around 3pm to see if I could get a catering order for the next day. Excellent customer service. Excellent response time. Excellent prices. When I arrived the following day they were ready and waiting… with her sweet husband even helping me to the vehicle. The verdict on the food? Awesome. This place knows how to do small biz!

This was JUST what I needed to find after spending a couple of days on the road with my sisters eating crap. We had found an awesome little Airbnb to stay at in Memphis in Uptown on our little musical bucket list trip across the South and the hostess had left some menus for us to check out local places and this happened to be one of them. After having to leave a restaurant the previous day because the smell of oil/fries made me physically ill I was absolutely starving for something fresh and not deep fried or BBQ. We had walked to the Slave Haven Underground Museum in the morning and from there down to the Bass Pro Pyramid so this was on our way back to our digs and we were getting hangry. When you walk in, it’s like walking into an office/art gallery and you know you are in a special place because everyone is so friendly. Place your order at the cash register and the food is brought to your table when ready. A local police officer who was eating lunch asked if we would like some recommendations on what to eat, then proceeded to recommend everything on the menu, which had us laughing. We had a Veggie Wrap of crunchity munchity fresh deliciousness, the Bearwater Roast Beef — so tenderly delicious, hot and tasty with the fried onions and cheese, and the Turkey Greenlaw which had an addictive pesto mayo. They were out of their apparently very popular lemon cake so we had a strawberry cake between us and OMG it was like being transported back to childhood and Jello for dessert on a Sunday. This place was so good we stopped off for breakfast the next morning on our way out of town, trusting our judgment of the lunch we had. Most of us had the Scrapper Scrambler — Eggs, spinach, tomato, roasted red peppers, mushrooms, onions, choice of cheese, and slice of toast. The eggs were creamy and fluffy and the topping was fresh and tasty. With big cups of Peets’s coffee with free refills and we were on our way back to Miami with full happy tummies. Open until 4p.m. only.

Good Lord I love this place. Came back home for Christmas and my father in law told us about this place, and I am so glad we came! I had the Scrapper Scrambler breakfast platter. It was full of veggies and cheese like I like it. I added bacon to it and it was perfect. The staff was so friendly and attentive. This will be a spot I will come visit every time I come home.

I love finding places like this. Absolutely great service and very addictive food! The butter cake is just flat out ridiculous and should be illegal. Their menu is very diverse! Everything sounds so good. My mission is to try every single food item. I love the music they have playing in the background and I love the staff. They don’t know it but I love them. Lol. They have a lot of art for sale inside too so it gives it a cool feel with all the art and music playing on top of some of the best lunch offered in downtown Memphis. They have free wifi I believe so it could easily be the best café to go to and do some work, eat good and enjoy yourself all at once!

Stopped in here for a quick lunch with my buddy who knows the owners and we know their son. Really cool place to have lunch. Very friendly staff, great food, locally owned. Not many people know about it so I will be sending my guests here for lunch because it’s awesome and they can use the computers or wifi.

Why this place is still such a secret I don’t know. The Office is probably the best lunch spot in the North Main/Auction area. When you come into the space, you may not really understand where you are. It’s is literally set up as an office space, with desks and office chairs. There are some spaces with 4 top tables and others with sofas for lounging. There is music playing in background and Ms. Valerie(the owner) will greet you. Ultimately the space is meant to be a workspace of sorts or even a meeting space, but they also offer the best lunch downtown. I’ve come in several times just to eat. Most recently I ordered the BLTA(Blt with avocado) and it was terrific. A typical sandwich with chips and a drink runs you about $ 10. That may sound high, but in comparison to say Subway, both the quality and the service are better. They also have some really good homemade desserts that I only order at the end of the day because it’s too much to eat at lunchtime.

My husband and I visited this establishment during a trip to Memphis. We were staying at a place across the street so it was a nice walk to the location. The food was absolutely delicious and the service was gracious and fast. Husband had a club sandwich with the smoked cheddar and a spicy mayo. The smoked cheddar really kicked it off. The potato salad was well done. Good flavor, not too much mayo and good consistency. I can’t remember the name of my sandwich, it may have been the uptown classic but not was damn good too! Good place, relaxed atmosphere, would def come again!

I visited The Office after reading reviews about it on Unilocal and thought I ought to make a point to check out this hidden treasure. Overall, my experience was 3 stars. I do plan on visiting again and will update my review once I do. I think what’s important to communicate to Unilocal readers is that this place is not like starbucks or panera, in that yes — it offers WAY more, but it also is not a place that seems appropriate for grabbing a coffee and sitting for long periods of time crafting a years worth of expense reports. Through my experience, this is a place you pay to work at. You either pay through food purchase(and leave when you’re done) or through renting office space. If you come expecting something more like panera, it can be a little uncomfortable like it was when I visited. Overall, decent place though. It’s just important, I feel, for people to understand that about The Office. Pros: Great service! The people who work here were very nice. I told them it was my first visit and I got the full tour and they seemed very eager to get anything I needed. Some regulars came in too and they seemed to be very personable with the staff. So many business options. As a downtowner — this may be the closest place to make copies! Good to know. They have desks you can rent, fax machines, copies, conference rooms, and free wifi(for customers). The space is airy and open. While for most of my visit I was the only one in the place, I imagine that when it is busier it still doesn’t seem cluttered. Food — while I wasn’t impressed with my order(my fault) they really seem to have some great home cooked meal options. When I return I will be trying a full on meal! They offer Peets coffee… and that is always a good thing! Cons: The messages communicated about not staying past your meal are a little off putting. I get that they are trying to also run a business built on renting office space, but especially during less busy times — why not take these down? I just like I needed to leave as soon as I finished my food otherwise someone might say something. And maybe they don’t know this comes off so strong… if they don’t intend that I hope the business reconsiders how this is messaged to customers, especially during less busy times. Prices seemed a bit high. Skip the juice and jelly. Considering how home cooked the meals for lunch are — I was a bit surprised that they had generic orange juice and little packets of jelly. I think some jars or fancy jelly might make the prices more worth while and maybe consider getting cartons of real orange juice versus the cocktail orange juice that lasts for 5 years? Overall — check it out. Don’t linger. Come for coffee, lunch or sending a fax!

This is a great place. The coffee, and breakfast and lunch sandwiches are really good, and the people are very friendly. It has a relaxed and open feel, and it is a great place to grab a bite and hash out a couple hours of work.

I have eaten lunch here once per week, since I found this secret spot. It’s literally an office that happens to have food. There are fax machines, printers, well-placed plugs for your phone/laptop… The sandwiches and soup are great too. I love the flavored tea. #Yelp901

A gem tucked away on N. Second St. in Uptown. The office @Uptown provides some office amenities as well as great, homemade breakfast and lunch. You won’t meet a stranger, here. everyone is so friendly and helpful. If you need a place for a quick meeting, or a quiet place to finish prep for a meeting while you enjoy a quick bite to eat, the Office @Uptown is for you.

The office @uptown has some great food! My favorites are the Teriyaki Chicken on ciabatta and the Uptown Classic on ciabatta with extra pesto mayo. These sandwiches were two of the best sandwiches I’ve has in a long time. The location is close to where I work. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I that they take call in orders and have it ready upon arrival, especially when there are multiple orders from work. The best way to finish off a meal is with one of there brownies! Theyv are simply divine. Check out the office, especially if you work downtown.

The veggie pizza was awesome, so was the Panini,…very good service. It is also an internet café, you can fax, scan and browse while you get a quick brunch. The salads are great… very near to downtown, yet no problem getting a parking space.
