Simple basic and effective, located conveniently next to the Racquet Club. Cheap, cheerful and friendly

Got some fantastic tasting curry in this place. Wife got chicken curry, and I wished I ordered that instead. She does not eat spicy food, and mild was just fine for her. Normally she will be drinking a lot in Indian restaurant. However, be aware spicy setting really is spicy.

Stopped in on a Sunday, and we had the restaurant to ourselves. I’m an Indian food amateur, but I was very impressed with Rotis. Naan was amazing and so was the chicken saag. Will be back soon and it’s BYOB!

We were expecting mediocre indian, but WOW, this place delivered! we were staying at the DoubleTree Hotel and saw this little Indian place across the street. Unilocal reviews were good and noticed the«order now» feature at the bottom of the screen: Eat24. 20 minutes later we picked up our order. Lamb Roganjosh(spicy) and Samosas. Lamb was tender, sauce was exactly what we wanted out of spicy. Actually on the top end of spicy! Both were very flavorful. If you want more than bar food. Eat here! And as a guest at the Doubletree, the hotel will give you plates and silverware to take to your room

We walked in on a whim and never having eaten Indian food before we were quite nervous. I must say we were plesently suprised and happy. Our waiter explained all the food and how it was prepared and we ordered. Everything was delicious and fresh and great.

Good spot in a strip mall off of Poplar. Attentive service! Food was very good. Had the Chicken Vindaloo and my wife had the Chicken Tika Massala with Garlic Naan and pickles. We don’t have Indian food often, but this place will be added to the list! Positive dining experience!

They have a lunch special now!!! For $ 10 you get an appetizer, veggie, meat, rice, naan, and dessert, dine in only. Best masala I’ve had. I have Aloo mutter, butter chicken, gobi, & mango custard… yummy. You must try my fav ginger chicken. A new guy got my initial order very wrong but they were very helpful & pleasant about fixing it.

Food was really good and service was great. Absolutely no atmosphere in there and does not have a liquor license. They do take out too and people walk through the middle of the restaurant to a desk to pick it up, disrupting any atmosphere that is left. I would have their food again but wouldn’t eat in.

Customer service is really good! The food was ok… Paneer tikka masala was different from other restaurants, and so is the papdi(which is an extra charge by the way, and so is raita…), and don’t order paneer bhurjee. But it wasn’t bad! They have mirch because there was some in the food we ordered but they bring you jalapeños instead of green chilis if you ask for them. Although I think most Indian restaurants do that. The naan was sweet which was weird?! The spice level was ok but their spice game was a little off for those of us who like to cry and snot when we eat ;p BUT so far their prices are the lowest we’ve seen in Memphis except Bombay chaat house in Collierville which is just snacks/street foods.

For starters, the food was good overall. The service was attentive, but not very knowledgeable, but the waiter was new on the staff, I think. It is rather pricey for what you get. Nothing for kids, and they don’t do smaller portions for kids either. Overall, it’s worth a try, but I don’t believe we will be back until they adjust their pricing on things like a very small cup of soup, and adding refills to tea, etc.

Somehow, my fiancé and I totally missed this place when it moved into the Sanderlin Center, despite him working nearby and me frequenting the Kroger on Mendenhall(and occasionally making a cupcake run to Muddy’s). We usually go into Midtown for Indian food, so when we found out we had an Indian restaurant right down the road, we were incredibly excited to have a closer option. We’ve never dined in before – we always either call in take-out or use the convenient online ordering system that they have available through their website. The food is kind of expensive, but they serve nice-sized portions(we can never make it through all of the rice they give us) and take-out is usually ready in 15 – 20 minutes. The paneer tikka masala is delicious(the sauce is a little more yellow-orange than I’m used to – maybe they add more turmeric? – but it’s very tasty) and the samosas are spicy and well-seasoned. The naan can be a bit hit-or-miss(sometimes it’s a little too chewy), but when done well, it’s soft and slightly sweet. My fiancé usually gets butter chicken(very tasty), but he’s also tried the chili chicken, which was quite an interesting dish, with Indian and Chinese influence. All in all, Roti’s is a good choice, especially if you’re out in East Memphis. It’s never very busy when we go(in fact, most nights we’ve gone, the place has been empty), which worries me a little bit, so I hope people start hearing more about this little place, because it’s a great addition to the area and the food is quite tasty.

Okay is about all I can say. Nothing special. It is a little over priced for my taste. Not much of a big deal. The AC was switched off today. a little annoying, considering it was almost 88 outside.

Enjoyed dinner in this quiet and convenient restaurant. First time here: had vegetable biryani and tandoori shrimp. Looking forward to coming back

I really love Indian food, and I had heard good things about Rotis, and they have my favorite Indian dish of all time, Chicken Jalfreezi, so my friend and I went to eat there one evening for dinner. The service was fine, although the owner’s kid was playing on a computer at a table near ours — she was well-behaved, and I get all the struggles of having a kid and having to work but I just really don’t like that, especially when I felt like she was getting more attention than we were, even when we needed refills. The food was good, although our rice was definitely undercooked. It was also really pricey for the portion sizes. I think it’s a great space in a great location — if they can get the word out, fill up the place(we were one of two tables), and work on consistency, then I think Rotis will be really good!

Historically I have not been fond of Indian food, but my wife loves it because she is vegan and it allows her a much broader choice of items on the menu. As a new restaurant near our home, we wanted to try it and we were hoping for the best. We were not disappointed! We started with each of us having a masala tea to drink and an we shared an order of the Samosa appetizers — these were great way to start the meal. My wife ordered the vegetable chettinadu and I ordered the methi chicken. The flavor in each of these dishes is simply remarkable. Since this visit, we have eaten there two additional times and I am now a fan of this restaurant’s Indian food. If you like Indian flavors, you certainly have to try this restaurant. As well, if your palate is expanding and you’re open to new flavors, you should also give them a try. Mmmmmm!

The best thing about this restaurant is you get to choose where you sit and won’t be bothered by other people invading your space or having to hear any other human being’s conversation. With that being said, a side benefit is this place is clean and well kept with entertaining Bollywood videos playing. The samosas were fine when enjoyed with a mango lassi. The entrees were more than adequate. I especially liked the garlic naan. Very tasty. The reason for my two stars is simple. Price. For two of us, two entrees and a mango lassi, the check was $ 63!!! I don’t understand how this restaurant will survive in this prime real estate area. I’m no business manager but serving a couple of tables a night… this place might not be around much longer. YMMV

First time here but we’d been planning to try for awhile. We loved it. Service was fine. Very dark inside, low key atmosphere. Nothing fancy, very casual but we loved what we ordered. We asked for everything to be ‘medium’ spice but in my opinion it was pretty mild. We tried: The gobi manchura which was excellent. Order this. Spicy but not overwhelming. Delicious. The fish pakora was great. The palik paneer, methi chicken & lamb saag were all wonderful. We added a side of onion kulcha which was so good. Addictive. Slight nit-picky stuff: Not huge portions for the price. Our bill with water to drink was about $ 75 before tip. Had some leftovers to take with us but nothing huge. Definitely recommend this place if you’re looking for a nice Indian meal.

This place is actually 4.5 stars for me. The staff is friendly and very helpful. The restaurants décor is very nice with a welcoming feel. I love the Indian music videos playing. The samosas were great – flavorful and a bit spicy served with 2 great sauces. The chicken Tikka masala was great with a bright red sauce and tender chicken. A very pretty dish, I kept thinking of red velvet cake. The vegetable jalfreizi was spicy with a brown, gravy-like, sauce. It was very delicious over the basmati rice. Lastly, the rice pudding was sweet, cold and refreshing and really cleansed the palate. A great place for wonderful Indian cuisine.

Food was excellent. Samosas very flavorful and fresh and some of the best I have ever had. Chicken tikka masala was great as well as roti and mango lassi. Only negative was waiter took my husband’s order and walked off without getting mine. I had to flag him bag down. I guess he thought my hubby ordered so much that it had to include mine as well.
