I really liked this place and the room was huge with a loft. Much to big for just one person but I took it and it was nice. The manager was great. I had a flight at 6 am and my cab was supposed to come at 4:15 and it came and left at that exact time. The manager then called the company and they could not get one out for 20 mins and I was in danger of being late so the manager actually got in his car and drove me himself. Talk about customer service

I’ve stayed here a couple of times and enjoyed my stay. The living areas are comfortable. Bathroom is clean. Rooms are very large 2 bed/bath suites. Once I stayed in separate townhouse which was also nice. Parking is in gated lot in back for security. It’s not any different that most residence in stays. Breakfast was standard scrambled eggs, sausage, waffles, muffins.

Located in East Memphis, this hotel is convenient some local hospitals, as well as to numerous stores and restaurants. It is not, however, convenient to the downtown area nor to many of Memphis’ more well-known tourist attractions. The hotel is fairly large, with the rooms spread among several small buildings. Only one of the buildings has elevators. Those staying in the outlying rooms must carry their luggage up and down two flights of stairs. The rooms were well kept, but beginning to show signs of age. Though, the studio suite accommodated my party of three travelers fairly well. The hotel’s staff was friendly and quick to resolve any issues I encountered during my stay.

OK, so here’s the thing. I went back and re-read my review and I guess I was being a little harsh… I mean, the first room was not great, BUT I can’t tell you how wonderful the staff is here! Every person on the staff from the General Manager down to the person cleaning the pool not only knew my situation, but has checked in with me to make sure I was happy in my new room(which I am). They are just so sweet here. So what the hotel lacks in space and accommodations, the staff makes up for 20-fold in kindness and concern. And when you come, make sure to tell Velma at the front desk I said hello!

Despite all carpet(in rooms and common areas) being in desperate need of replacement, the slowest elevator on earth(although there are only 4 floors), and the train that goes right past the hotel 8 times between 11pm and 6am, I was almost willing to give them a break because the staff is just so darn nice. And those free biscuits and gravy in the morning certainly help. And then the bed bugs bit. Yep, real live bed bugs. At least I think that’s what they were. I didn’t see any bugs but I woke up at 3am on my last night covered in extremely itchy bug bites. I am not sure what else it could be. The staff was extremely kind and accomodating(it was my last night anyhow) but that didn’t make the itching stop. I spend over 75 nights a year in a Residence Inn for the past several years and this is the only bug bite incident but there are plenty nicer RI’s than this(at least in other cities I’ve stayed). While the towels are soft and fluffy they haven’t yet converted to the curved shower rods(the best invention of the 21st century) and it just needs a lot of updating in general.
