One word Amazing! Ray has it going on. 40 years of BBQ and he is the master. Ribs fell off the bone. Potatoe salad rocked. The beans are incredible! BBQ sauce hits the perfect balance. I’ll be thinking about this food for a long time.

The best compliment I can give is the smell was good and the fries were okay. As for the BBQ I’ve had BBQ from a tub that tasted better. My fellow Unilocal reviewers let me down on this one.

I really wanted to love this place… When I walked in, the smell was a heavenly deep, BBQ smoky scent that had my mouth watering.
We ordered barbecue brisket sandwich and the rib tips.
The good: Barbecue sauce was delicious. They smoke the sauce, and there’s a little residual heat in your mouth that may come from maybe a touch of hot sauce or pepper?
The service was great. The ladies at the counter were very friendly, and Ray himself was walking around greeting folks.
My boyfriend said the rib tips were really good and would give them 4 out of 5 stars. They were meaty and didn’t have a lot of fat.
The bad: My brisket sandwich was so salty that it burned my tongue/​mouth. I had my boyfriend taste it too, just to make sure it wasn’t me, but he agreed, which is saying a lot because he is one of the least picky eaters I know.
Maybe it was just an off day?

Best BBQ in Memphis! On our way south from STL and stopped here! WOW! So awesome! The sauce is all natural and the baked beans were out of this world! Super nice people too!

This was such an amazing experience. Service was great, food came out quickly, and most importantly it tasted phenomenal. Literally finished the ½ ribs in 10 minutes and still wanted more. Don’t bother getting anything else on their menu– just get the ribs. DO IT.

If you are ever strolling down Main Street and smell something good it’s probably Rayz! I was hesitate to hear about ANOTHER dangon BBQ spot but honestly this place is different. I effing love Central and they even have some competition now. It may be the natural BBQ sauce and how he smokes it. It’s really good. I loved the BBQ nachos and can’t wait to try more soon. He has been passing out coupons too so hopefully I remember to use it next time I go lol. I’m really bad about that sometimes. Oh and I forgot to mention the service absolutely on point! Ray is a mouthful and the ladies there are delightful. One lady said she was vegan for years until she met Ray hahahahahaha.
