Heard they have a good reputation but I’ll never know because when I called to ask if I needed an appointment to get a suit and a pair of jeans hemmed, the man who answered the phone was rude. Didn’t say the name of the business when he answered the phone and when I asked if this was the tailor, he responded curtly«Yes, this is a tailor.» I asked if I needed an appointment and he just quoted the time 1030 – 4 back to me. I have bad days and get busy just like anyone else but if you are running a business that you would like to be successful, answer the phone politely. I will take my business elsewhere. Too bad, heard they were good.

I went to Nandwani’s for a bridesmaid dress. They didn’t take long, about a week or so. Price was a lot more than I thought it should be, as all I did was a hem and rip some stitches to loosen the top a bit. What really soured me on the whole experience with Nandwani’s was that right before walking down the aisle at the wedding I discovered that they’d used hem tape instead of actually stitching the hem. It explained why the bottom of the dress looked off and wrinkled, but needless to say I was NOT happy that they’d charged me $ 62 to iron that in. I could have done it myself for $ 3. If you’re looking for a tailor in Memphis, try Lai’s on Cleveland/Monroe. They cut two whole sizes and hemmed a dress with three layers for a grand total of $ 50 for me.

I went and had some pants taken in here. They were fast, cheep, and done correctly. I plan on returning.
