Kroger

I quit shopping at this store years ago. It recently sent out coupons to attract new customers after a renovation. I gave the cashier a coupon but she didn’t swipe it. I was distracted by the bagger. I brought my own cloth bags but he kept putting my stuff in a plastic bag. I finally had to bag my own groceries. Overall the facelift didn’t improve the customer service at this store.

I’m going try to chalk this up to them being in the middle of renovating (this location used to be a Schnucks back when there was actual variety for grocery stores in Memphis) but I was shopping there last weekend and I saw a rat scurry across the floor right in the dairy section. Ugh. I don’t make stuff like this up, by the time I got out my cell phone to try to get a picture, it had already run out of sight.
On a slightly less extreme note but is still a bit of a bummer, there’s a particular salad dressing I like that’s incredibly hard to find. The company’s website says it’s stocked here (this location is still showing up on their site) and I’d been able to find it here until just recently. It’s not an empty slot or anything, they’ve stopped carrying it altogether. Oh well.
It doesn’t carry much weight to say I won’t shop here but will go to another Kroger instead, but yeah. If you’re in this area and need to shop for groceries, there’s another Kroger just one block away on Mendenhall.

I think the folks working here are simply delightful. I am so thrilled this location is a Kroger.
