I am drawn to canvas art pieces. I have no clue why. There is something wonderful about that big square piece of art. The way the canvas hugs the frame underneath, and the way the paint just seems to mesh so well with the actual canvas. It’s pure and utter brilliance in my book. Fountain Art Gallery is a treasure for those of us who adore canvas pieces. They have a huge selection– canvas piece after canvas piece. They have a lot of floral and nature pieces, but I did spot a few items that were more of a contemporary vibe. If you cannot find anything pre-made that you fall in love with(it’s hard not to) you can even work with them on custom pieces. Yes, you can actually commission an artist to make you a custom painting. I always wanted to have a party and sip wine while talking about my «commissioned» art pieces. It’s just classy.

Fountain Art Gallery is a nice, open space showcasing many local artists with bright, vibrant styles. The subjects are interesting and thought-provoking, as well as aesthetically pleasing. I saw quite a few oils that I could picture hanging in my living room. I love the work of Peggy Whiddon, Connie Balton and Claire Barnett who bring a bit of whimsy and life to their individual works, as well as the work of Jean Handley who has the use of texture perfected. Fountain Art Gallery will also work with you on custom pieces, helping you determine your exact wants and needs to match you with the right artist for that perfect commissioned work.

If you’re a fan of acrylics, you’ll find a plethora of paintings using that medium at this gallery. Canvas after canvas of acrylic taking various shapes, several floral, quite a few country scenes and some wildlife. Also spotted was some handmade beaded jewelry, as well as brightly-colored hand-painted pottery in unique animals shapes, one looked to be a chicken, another a colorful fish. The cool thing about the gallery is that it showcases and supports local and regional artist’s work. Also, if you want to take a painting home and you don’t like the way that it looks — you can bring it back within three days.
