I heart Aveda. There is something about the smell of their products. Sadly, I will admit before I was a hair stylist, I stayed at the same salon in town for years– not because I loved my stylist or because she was wickedly awesome. Nope, simply because my hair looked and smelled amazing when I left the shop. I used to wait with great anticipation for that moment after my haircut when she would slather my hair up with Aveda goodness. I love that Memphis offers an Aveda store front. The gals at the Oak Court Mall location are seriously educated on anything Aveda product related. They are super friendly and helpful, and will spend as much time on you as your little heart desires. They offer free mini facials, hand massages, and even a piping hot cup of their faaaaabulous tea. It is seriously good folks. Any product that you have been thinking about purchasing, they will gladly educate you on how it works, how to apply it and what the benefits are. They also have a plethora of free samples to take home with you. My personal favorite is the Aveda Confixor. Smooth a quarter sized drop onto your wet locks, and I promise you that you will have some seriously mean, sleek, shiny locks after you blowdry. My husband and I are also addicted to the foot cream. It has peppermint oil in it and once you smooth it on to your piggy toes, your feet get all cool and tingly. Super fabulous if you are on your feet all day.

I had some free sample coupons that I’d found online — feel free to copy/paste if interested. The store is at the Oak Court mall on the second level. Upon entering, a sales associate offered me a cup of their Peppermint Tea to sip while browsing. I love this stuff. It’s naturally sweet and just very, very soothing. I caved and bought a jar. She happily got my samples and was very knowledgable of the company’s products. I wanted some essential oils to add to the grapeseed oil I use for massages(my family is addicted to them) and she reccommended some, based on their aromatheriputic(is that a word?) properties. Everything is plant based and ecologically responsible. Coming up soon, they’re having hair stylists coming in to show you how to style your hair. They’ll be giving hand massages as well. It’s free — just sign up.
