Food was good. Reminds me of Bob Evan’s or Big Boy. Wanted to try the desserts but we were too full.

It’s the first time i have been in Bakers Square in awhile. What a refreshing change. The moment i walked in the door, the manager greeted me. lyn seated us, she made us feel like we were at home. Keep up the good work Baker’s Square! The pie was a bonus!

Service was fine. Unfortunately I can’t say the same for the pies. Perhaps our expectations were high but my piece of pie was tiny compared to everyone else’s. My hubby ordered the strawberry and apparently they left the crust in the tray cause literally it was all strawberries just kind of in a group on the plate. The coffee was weak and flavorless. All in all we will not be going back.

The food here was good but the service was all the way bad. We just felt as if we weren’t getting the same service as the waitress’s other tables. Like for example we asked for to-go boxes and it took maybe 5 – 7 minutes to come back. Maybe she was new or the demand for the other tables was higher than ours, I don’t know. I’ll come back for the pie but maybe not to dine-in.

I never really write reviews. But the service was just so bad I felt obligated to mentally prepare any willing soul for their unforgiving future. From the moment we walked in three girls stood around and not ONE of them greeted us or acknowledged our existence. Instead, they argued over who was going to serve us.(Yea that felt great) So I finally said«hi! We’re here for dinner.» And instead of realizing my sarcastic remark to correct their behavior, the woman just grabbed some menus and with her back to us said«follow me.» And continued to walk. I truly believed our waitress«Carmilla» or something close to that was going to redeem some stars here by her genuine smile and attention. I guess she finally remembered our tip pretty much pays her rent. But of course it didn’t. As soon as she gave us the check we were no longer of importance. We waited with our hand in the air to ask for a box and not one person noticed us. Needless to say I will not be returning back to them, and I truly hope that the future consumers have a better experience than we did. I really do.

Food was good but the server needed to pick up the pace a little. We went for lunch but it wasn’t busy enough to be that slow. Good thing I work close by and took a long lunch.

It’s been a long time since I’ve been at this Baker’s Square, however, very little has changed to make me come back and rave about it. My children suggested that we go out for breakfast after church; some place in the area. Baker’s Square seemed different, since there could be pie… But we should have gone to a breakfast place for breakfast. They seem to just tack on basic breakfast items to their lunch menu to justify having the ok to serve breakfast. Was I expecting a great breakfast from a place that specializes in serving pie… I guess I shouldn’t get my hopes up so high. Additionally, the prices were a bit high given that there was nothing to really write home about, but it was just wonderful being with my kiddies, and not doing the cooking nor washing the dishes afterwards. Our waitress was like a grandma type, but on roller skates. She was the highlight. With eight of us,(that’s right seven kiddies and momma), the waitress made sure everyone left happy.

I’ve visited this Bakers Square location for over two decades(scary) when their store on Harlem & Lake was closed. It’s always had great quality(excerpt during a period in the early 2000’s). Customers service is always friendly and food is served fairly quick. Their pies are ALWAYS the best!

Has been pretty busy around lunch the last few times, because who doesn’t love pie? Crazy people, that’s who. I like the pie shop special, which gives you the option to pick any 3 between a cup of soup, salad, ½ a sandwich, or a slice of pie for right around $ 10. The Wisconsin cheddar soup was perfect on a cold day, and their Reuben(half of it, at least) was tasty. Lemon meringue pie was great as per usual. Looks as though the inside has been recently renovated, and a couple flatscreen TV’s had the news on. Service was good and food came out relatively fast. Oh, and free pie on Wednesdays(as if you needed another reason to celebrate Hump Day. Hump DAAYYYYYY.)

OK… I’ve been coming to this place for a few years now and every time it has been a pleasant experience, until today. I ordered the artisan platter where u can choose 3 or 4 choices. I ordered the tuna sandwich, Cesar salad, and Tomato Basil soup. As I took a few bites off my salad, I noticed a chunk of plastic in it. I immediately reported my finding to the manager and server. It was replaced but by then, I had lost some of my appetite. Took a bite off my tuna sandwich and it was sooo bland, water has more flavor in comparison. Ridiculous!!! Was asked if I wanted anything else to replace it and I had to decline the offer. Appetite was completely gone at this point. The soup has always been great. Best part of the meal. That and the coffee. The manager(who recognized me as being a regular here) came by to apologize and said the meal will be on the house. Was offered pie as compensation and I took it. For my kids of course. I have to admit, the way the manager handled it was very professional. Due to that great turnaround, they have not completely lost my business. I will be coming back. Anyone can have a slip. :)

Came here to pick up pie on a Sunday to bring to my family… Who doesn’t like a bakers square pie and since the locations are so few and far between it really is a treat! The French silk pie was good as always… The location though kinda grossed me out and made me question my decision of getting a pie there. Just came in to get a pie at the counter and immediately I was overwhelmed with the smell of a hospital cafeteria. I was not here to eat so at first I wasn’t bothered by it… But the longer I waited to be assisted the more I kept thinking ew why does a restaurant smell like this? Perhaps they wipe down the tables with a dirty rag and bleach. Cause that’s what it smelled like. Gross! Then of course my mind goes to how they keep there kitchen if there dining room smells like this? Should I even get the pie here? Then I was assisted before I could run out. The lady left no impression on me. A day later I can’t tell you if she was friendly what she looked like or if she was old or young. Literally I got the pie and left. A couple of hours went by before the pie was served that the haunting smell of the place had escaped my mind and I was able to enjoy it. I will not be back to bakers square unless someone specifically asks me to bring them a bakers square pie…

Such a great find! We happened to come across this place on a Wednesday night which we found out was free pie night, lucky us! I love that they serve breakfast 24 hours. The food I would describe as not great, but good and especially for the price. Between the two of us we had two breakfast plates, one coffee, and two slices of pie for $ 18 before tip since the pie was taken off the bill. The waiter we had was wonderful, and the pie was so much better than we expected. We tried the cream cheese apple which is cheesecake in a fresh baked graham cracker crust with apple pie filling on top and a layer of fresh whipped cream. It was amazing! The second slice we took to go had chocolate, caramel, pecan with whipped cream and it was also divine. This may just be our new Wednesday night tradition

Now, I have frequented this location for several years. However, I want to commend them on their recent clean-up and redesign. It looks great, very welcoming. Now the pie! I tried the apple pie cheesecake. Crazy sounding? Yup. However, pretty delicious. I went in on a whim to get a pie and the selection was incredible. The front counter workers were fantastic. They answered all my questions and were great all the way through the check-out. So give the neighborhood place a try. They seem to be new and improved.

Love me some Baker’s Square. I had never been to this location but had to meet a friend out in this area. Since I know the food is pretty standard and good quality, we met here. I love their breakfast. We got the«build your own breakfast» which is fun, because you can mix and match and get exactly what you want. I was super happy and well fueled for a little last minute Xmas shopping. The staff and overall vibe of the place was great and I enjoyed my food!

I found it absolutely fantastic that we were able to come here at 2am on Thanksgiving day and get a meal and pie! The service was very friendly and fast. I ordered a burger and fries, and my husband had cheese fries. Both were very good! The burger was huge, with all the toppings. They even were kind enough to put the ketchup and mustard on the side. The pie was equally great, we got the french silk and pumpkin of course. No complaints, both had the right amount of flavor and spice. The restaurant itself seems very clean and comfortable.

Baker’s Square holds quite the sentimental value in my marriage. Way back when my now-husband and I were merely coworkers in Los Angeles, we used to go to Baker’s Square out there after work because it was open late. Then they all started to close, including the one we always went to. Sadness. Now that we’re relocated to the midwest, we’ve found one pretty close to where we live. We go here for dinner a couple times a month I’d say — when we get the 20% off coupon in the newspaper. I’ve been ordering the same thing every time ever since they put it on the menu: tomato basil soup with the tomato basil flatbead sandwich. And pie of course. I had planned on trying the butternut squash soup this time but it’s no longer on the menu. I guess I missed the season. Oh well. Now it’s a vegetarian black bean which is awesome because I’m a vegetarian, I’m just not a huge fan of black bean soup. One time, in order to satisfy a guilty pleasure, I got to order the mozzarella stick/japaleno popper appetizer and it was sooooooooo good. Never again though. Too much unhealthy goodness. As far as the pie goes, I usually order banana cream but have sampled the following on singular occasions: the celebration one(not worth the calories), oreo(VERY yummy), pumpkin pie with whipped cream topping, and French apple. I’m sure years and years ago I’ve also had chocolate cream and French silk but not lately. My husband always goes for the pecan. Well, 99% of the time. He had peach pie a la mode this past time. I actually contemplated ordering raspberry. Maybe next time that’s what I’ll do. I always preferred the crust of the pies at Marie Callendar’s but they don’t have Marie Callendar restaurants in the Chicago area so Baker’s Square wins our business every time. The inside here has recently been redone and is very nice.
