Sonic Drive In

End of May we go for a slush during Happy Hour and told us the flavor was out. Ordered cherry limeade slush instead and was told the ice was out. No slush ice available? Really?
Today for 79 cent slushes we came back at 2:00. Got everyone’s order and we’re told the slushies are watery. At this point I will never waste my time going to Melissa’s Sonic.

Food is typical Sonic food. Car hops are desperate for tips. I agree with someone else who said they always try to keep your change. If you dont tip, you can feel the tension rise!
One girl always asks too many personal questions. The staff needs to be trained in professionalism.

I went there to pick up a drink during their «happy hour». This makes a two-​dollar-​and-​something Route 44 cost only 99 cents. I go through the drive thru, order my drink, pull up to the window and I hand the guy 2 $ 1 bills. Then he asks me if I want any change.
This guy asks me for gratuity for handing me a drink through a drive thru window. It’d be understandable if I’d parked and you bussed my drink out to me. But asking me for a tip at the drive thru? Completely nullifying the entire premise of «happy hour»? I don’t tip the people at McDonalds, Wendys, Jack in the Box, etc., I don’t see why a tip was expected here.
Here’s a tip: make sure you give exact change when using the drive thru.

I was in a hurry to get back to work after a very late-​running doctor’s appointment, & I had no time to stop for a relaxing lunch. Instead, I saw this Sonic on my way in & whipped into the drive thru for a quick snack. Sadly, I wasn’t in the mood for heavy, greasy food, so my options were limited.
I settled on a grilled chicken wrap since it was 1) not fried, 2) a simple order, & 3) something I could easily eat while driving. There was only one person in front of me in the drive thru, though there were serveral people parked, too. By the time I got my food, it had been a good 15 minutes, but at least it was fairly fresh. The wrap was alright, but ended up in my lap more than in my mouth because it wasn’t wrapped very tightly. C’est la vie.
Everyone was nice enough, but didn’t seem interested in being there really. Would I go again if I had other choices? No, not likely. But it worked when I was in a pinch & it was cheap, so everyone wins!
