This was a great restaurant. We ordered potato pancakes, Kapana(I think), and the Haxe for dinner. It was flat out amazing. Everything was so good, instead of splitting the side salad with my wife I had to order an extra one all for myself. I strongly suggest this restaurant.

Decided to give this new(er) restaurant a go. We noticed this particular spot has changed hands many times over the years and was excited to learn that German /African cuisine is now being served in our area. The interior is nicely decorated and very quaint as it probably only has around 10 tables in total. The outdoor seating looked inviting; however given the cold weather we opted for indoor seating. We ordered the Bunny Chow and Rouladen. Both came with a house salad which we enjoyed very much. We only wish they would have offered a bread basket as well. After all, this is a dinner entrée. We found the portion to be on the small side considering the meals were closer to $ 20 per plate. I believe $ 17& $ 18 to be exact. We also ordered a couple of beers. They have a decent selection. We opted for the draft IPA and once again, disappointed with the portion. It didn’t come in a pint glass or proper beer glass, but rather the same dainty glass that they use to serve water. For $ 5 a beer, we expected more. The service was good. Our waitress was attentive and offered up some suggestions when asked about some of their more popular items.

Service and food at Otjundu’s is on another level. The pork shank is tender and delicious falling off the bone. Their salad is amazing as well, very fresh. Of course the obligatory black forest cake is delicious as well. Really nice location can eat inside or out on the patio. Food is always fresh and prepared quickly and the service is always awesome. One of my favorite places to eat in the area. Great food, great service, great prices, you really can’t ask for anything more in a restaurant when dining out.

Excellent place! Interior and exterior look very nice, and the food and service was great! I ordered the Haxe, which is a pork shank with mashed potatoes and sauerkraut. The special of the night of was rack of lamb, which also came with mashed potatoes and green beans plus an African BBQ sauce. The pork shank was one of the best I’ve had! Falling off the bone yet still juicy and flavorful with brown gravy. I replaced the potatoes for spaetzle since I was craving it and also added a side of red cabbage. Red cabbage and sauerkraut were both authentic, very tangy and fresh. We also ordered the kapana and a side of pap for an appetizer. Kapana is sliced beef topped with peri peri sauce, which is a creamy tangy hot sauce. Pap is corn porridge topped with stewed tomatoes and onions, very traditional from South Africa. The lamb was decently sized, cooked medium rare, and was only $ 20! Quite a deal. Despite all this, my favorite dish of the night was surprinsgly the complementary salad! We didn’t even know that our entrees came with salad, but it was so good! This is probably the first salad I’ve polished off in a restaurant. It had a creamy dressing, coleslaw, pickled beet, and some other vegetables. It doesn’t sound appealing at all, but it was so good! For dessert we ordered the Black Forest Cake and Rum Cake, both homemade. I was more excited to try the Black Forest but actually felt the rum cake was sweeter and had better flavor. We just happened to stop by here and was really surprised how good everything was! Our server was very sweet and attentive yet was not overbearing or overly chatty(no offense but I go out to eat to catch up with the people I’m with, not to make small talk with the server). I’m excited and hope they’re successful!

This place had top notch service. A special type of ambiance that is unlike most restaurants. I highly recommend the Haxe it melts in your mouth. Be sure to end the night with their homemade desserts. Enjoy.

This is a beautiful restaurant with amazing food. Come on a nice fall night and enjoy the patio. The South African bent on German cuisine makes a unique dining experience.

This was one great meal! We found this restaurant on Unilocal.Good call from the Unilocalers. Nice ambiance inside and out. Clean restaurant and friendly servers. Our server was George. Nice guy and certainly steered us in the right direction with our meal choices. If the weather is nice, sit outside. The light wrapped trees and iron tables looked wonderful. My husband had the pork shank, Haxe. I had the Bunny food(curry chicken). Both were incredible. Best part, dinner for two did not come close to breaking the bank. This restaurant has a mix of German and South African fare. Give something new a try!

The Peri Peri sandwich was top notch. Nice and spicy chicken. There’s a nice patio to lounge on while eating a nice meal. The food service was promptly served.

We went there last night for the first time. It was First Friday for the EGAD Arts District and the place was packed. We were lucky and got a table inside within a few minutes. The outdoor patios is the place to be because the weather is so nice but it was packed. We started off with beef with a spicy chili sauce on bread toast. It was really good. I had the Hauxe(braised pork shank). It was served with mix vegetables and french fries. The menu said it was supposed to come with Kroketten. I am assuming they were out but nothing was mentioned by the server. I must say our server was very sweet and I don’t think we were in her section. She just noticed us sitting there and took over. She did a great job. My boyfriend ordered the beef steak. It came out without the monkey gland sauce but that was quickly remedied by the server. The monkey gland sauce is a an African BBQ sauce and it really adds to the flavor of the steak. HIs meal was also missing the Kroketten and came with a side of noodles. While we wanted to try the Kroketten and thought it was odd that the server didn’t mention the substitutions the meal was still fantastic. They have craft beers available and again we will be back to sit outside and enjoy another meal. I am sure without the huge crowd and the Florida Today article the service and food will be on point. They did a great job but I could tell the crowds had them just a tad overwhelmed. Our server was sweet and did her best to keep things going. It happens and I would still give this place a recommendation. It’s probably the best restaurant in Eau Gallie. I forgot to add that because of the wait for the food we were offered a free drink or dessert. We didn’t mind the wait but the boyfriend did partake in a free beer. I have a feeling this restaurant will beat the curse of this location and last for a very long time.

This is our first experience to this cute little restaurant. Don’t let the name fool you. It has an East African flavor, but it is definitely a German restaurant. Have a real German beer… Konig Ludwig is a light, slightly tart wheat beer with hints of apple and banana and went well with my dinner. The Jäger schnitzel was fabulous smothered in a sauce of mushrooms. Schmekt gut. The Wienerschnitzel(pork) was as good as ones we had back in Garmisch! Ask for it with spaetzel instead of the listed fries. You absolutely must finish the meal with a piece of black forest cake, A delicacy not to be missed! This is freshly made daily by a family member. I’m already looking forward to coming back to try some of their other items.

Hadn’t been to a First Friday in Eau Gallie in a while and wanted to try the new restaurant in this space. OHWOW. something truly fresh in Melbourne. I have no experience with South African/Nambian food, so I can’t vouch for it’s authenticity, but we loved it. Had the Sosetie(sp?) a chicken kabob with a sweet curry and apricots. What a pleasure. The waiter apologized since a first Friday is their busiest night of the month so the service may not have been the best… but we did not find it lacking. Can’t wait to get back to try something new. And BTW it is very DOGFRIENDLY

Otjundu’s was fabulous! We are big fans of Café Coconut Cove and when we found out that Otjundu’s was in the family we couldnt wait to try. Never having had South African or Namibian food we were excited to give it a go. The menu items were all different, and we wanted to try them all. The potato pancake appetizer was so delicious it was gobbled down instantly, they had a delicious salad to follow and both of our entrees were delicious. Beer list was great, ambiance was lovely(we sat out on the front deck as the back garden area was already full). Service was great, we cant wait to go back! Highly suggest you give this place a try, you wont be disappointed!

I’m local and have been three times. This is a hit and a keeper. Excellent weinerschnitzel(and you can switch the fries for something else on the side); the salad dressing is phenomenal – it tastes clean and fresh taking, very refreshing; haxe(pork roast leg) was the best thing I’ve eaten in my life. The biergarten is lovely, eating out back under the porch is nice. Open for dinner only right now b/c the owner is opening slowly and getting his legs under him before he expands. Smart and nice guy. PLEASE try this restaurant! Oh, the black forest cake… omg.

Great mixture of German and South Africa flair. If you’ve been to South Africa you will understand. Food and Service are great. Patio either out front or out back are relaxing. Sit back, music and chill. Well recommended.

A South African and German restaurant in downtown Eau Gallie. Very nice atmosphere with a front patio and a beautiful beer garden in the back. The beer selection was good. The goulash was out of this world. Great service from Lori!
