VERY bizarre. I went into the place because I believe I have a mild ear infection. When I walked in the lobby was dark and gloomy, like maybe the light bill hasn’t been paid.
When I walked up to the desk I asked if they take health first insurance. I was told «I think so.» After getting copies of my drivers license no one ever asked for my insurance card. Strange…
So I offered a copy of my insurance card and it was grudgingly taken. Then the office manager came out and said no, no, no, we don’t take health first insurance because they refuse to pay us. They are an HMO and won’t pay. You have to pay cash. It is $ 50. So I paid $ 50 on my American Express, which would be the same price as the walk in clinic at health first. But the line there was over 2 hours.
At this point I was handed a copy of a non-​disparagement form. I’ve never seen one of these nor would I ever sign it. It basically holds me liable for any negative comment I would ever make about the practice even if it were a justified comment. That’s ridiculous. It’s like a gag order for doing nothing wrong.
Immediately my antenna went up. I asked the lady at the desk if they had a lot of people saying bad things about them and she replied I’ve never seen one. I told her that wasn’t my question. And she said I don’t know. But the doctor will not see you unless you sign it. At which point I had her refund my credit card and left. I will never go back again.
