Grimaldi Candies

Saw an ad for Grimaldi Chocolates and as I’m on the Gulf Coast of Fl, ordered their large box of mixed chocolates and small box of choc covered cherries. I don’t mind spending $ (& shipping costs) for good chocolates; however, I was disappointed with quality of these chocolates (some were a bit discolored and they were shipped when weather was cooler). To me, they didn’t seem fresh and I was also disappointed in choice of chocolates in their packaged box… too many coconut and creams :(so… needless to say, I won’t be ordering in the future!

I’ve been coming to Grimaldi’s since I was a child. Their chocolate covered potato chips (which they have free samples of!) are freshly made everyday. They were even featured on Mtv one year during a Valentines Day Special. When you walk into the store, the smell of chocolate is comforting and not over powering. Again, I need to stress the fabulousness of the free samples! The chocolate covered potato chips chips have become a frequent request from out of town family and friends and with affordable prices, I can easily oblige.

I love this place! They have some pretty unique chocolates here, I like their key lime bark and piña colada bark, which is usually not my style but it is so good, the toppings do tend to come off in the box though, which makes it a little more difficult to eat. They also have these peanut butter coconut haystacks that are soooo good! It is a nice soft peanut buttery outside and it has coconut on the inside, it’s a really good combination and the texture is great too! I have yet to try their famous chocolate covered potato chips. I did try their chocolate covered caramels, those were ok, nothing special just a chewy caramel with a thin layer of chocolate. The dark chocolate raspberry truffle is really good too, I like how creamy the inside is and of course raspberry and chocolate is a classic combination. I love coming here to get gifts for people, I also get to try some samples, which usually sway my decision a little.
The service is great, the two women I dealt with in the storefront were really friendly and helpful. They happily answered every question I had and when I was questioning which chocolate to purchase they let me sample one of each so that was really helpful. The prices are super reasonable too, bark is about $ 5-​$ 7 for a good amount and they have chocolate boxes for low prices. I will be here every day off that I get to restock for myself and my friends!

I absolutely love Grimaldi. It seems that in the last few years portions have gotten smaller but it’s every bit as delicious as it ever was.
My favorite is their chocolate covered potato chips, but you haven’t lived until you’ve tried their dark chocolate orange peels!

You have to have their dark chocolate-​covered potato chips. Or else. You haven’t lived. To the chocolate heights.

We stayed in Hilton during Christmas. They were handing Grimaldi chocolate covered potato chips out as Christmas gifts. Skeptical initially, as this seems to be a very unlikely combination but boy was I wrong! These are delicious and addictive. I haven’t tried their other candies as I was in Melbourne only for the day, but would love to try them out if I ever go back.

When living in Melbourne, Grimaldi’s was a favorite for Christmas gifts. I absolutely LOVE the chocolate covered potato chips and still dream of them!!!
It is refreshing to do business with a family owned store and a local staple.
Don’t miss buying some treats while you are in the area.

So many unique things covered in chocolate — and they’re all made right here! Profits go to their charity to drill wells overseas and also to some local groups. Stretch your imagination for what can be covered in chocolate.

I needed something sweet to send to my grandmother for Christmas but I wanted something LOCAL. My best friend and I found Grimaldi’s and went in expecting just another retail shop with prepackaged sweets. NOPE! They actually make the chocolates there! They were making some sort of fudge when I walked in and I tell you. the smell alone is AMAZING. The lady at the counter immediately asked us if we wanted a sample. I told her it was our first time to the chocolate shop and that I was getting something for my grandmother. She walked me through the items for sale and helped me pick something perfect. Chocolate covered potato chips! If you haven’t had them before, omg go get them! I am so excited to send my grandmother this box of Chocolate covered potato chips and the chocolate space shuttle. Such a neat place! I will definitely be back! :))

Grimaldi Candies has with stood the test of time. They are a family owned business that has been around for 20+ years. I remember going when I was a little girl and getting a tour of the chocolate factory from Mr. Grimaldi himself. Wonderful memories.
Mr. Grimaldi eventually retired and sold the business (and recipes) to another family. I was hesitant at first, but the new owners have done a wonderful job keeping the Grimaldi name alive! The chocolate is just as good as I remember.
My favorites: chocolate covered potato chips and a dark chocolate bunny rabbit during Easter.
If you are in Downtown Melbourne stop in for a purchase or a sample. You will no be disappointed!

At first glance, this doesn’t seem to be a likely combination, but these things are addictive. We don’t dare bring these things into the house on a regular basis.
If you don’t get to the shop, a lot of food stores in the area carry them.
