I tried this place with my mom. The salsa and chicken quesadilla were yummy, but the service left a bit to be desired. I ordered the combo Fajitas and my mom ordered a shrimp dish. The portions were nice, but both dishes were over cooked and the fajita seasoning didn’t taste right. The food came out quickly, which made me believe that maybe they were pre-cooking their meats(which could be why it’s tough).

Bought a Groupon. Tried to use it for a late lunch. Was told I could only use it in the evening. On Groupon is says reservations for Fri or Sat evening. Went tonight was told I couldn’t use it on a Friday evening. Very rude, such a shame as food was decent. So don’t buy the Groupon it is worthless unless you go Monday thru Thursday.

Still fabulous… the real deal. Pleasant atmosphere, clean, family run. We love it. Not a chain or corporate owned.

Service was lightening fast and I went in during lunch hours. I had a taco salad and sangria. The food was flavorful and pretty good. The only downside was the rice was a little soggy and didn’t taste fresh. The homemade chips and salsa are good.

Business that is in it for the money, not repeat customers. I called at 6:45p to ask when they were closed, was told 9:30. Seeing that the hours posted say 10p when we arrived, I figured they gave me 9:30 as the time so we wouldn’t walk in the door 5min before 10 and hold them up. However, we arrived at 7:45 and at 8:15(which the first 15min was spent with the restaurant debating over our groupon before they’d give us menus) the server was irritated that we hadn’t decided on our entrees(mind you, we did order drinks and an appetizer), stating that the kitchen was closing soon. To be fair, the food was decent – not the best Mexican and definitely not worth what they are charging. I’d say the same quality as El Chico’s but higher price.(I’d recommend La Preferida for taste and much lower prices.) Only at El Indio do you order fajitas and they give you 3 flour tortillas, then state they’ll charge for more? Same for the chips and salsa served. They insisted their iced sweet tea was home brewed but we know the taste of Fuze. Which brings the review full circle: the place only wants money and has no concern over pleasing their customers. Maybe go for the $ 5.99 lunches because they’ll definitely get you out the door fast. I could see paying that price for what they cooked. Otherwise, you’ll understand why on a Saturday night, the place was completely empty before 8p. One last note… be very careful if you purchase a groupon for this place. It’s the only time I wasn’t given the value of what I paid when going past the expiration(which Groupon stated is against policy) AND was told we were required to purchase exactly what the expired groupon was for. So they received $ 54 from the groupon and made another $ 60 on top of that.

My wife and I had lunch here yesterday, just a few minutes after they opened at 11. So we were the 2nd customer of the day and service was quick and the food was served quickly. Drinks and fresh/warm chips & salsa on the table in under 2 minutes and we had our food about 10 minutes later. We both ordered the super burrito(from the lunch menu) with shredded beef. It was great(4 out of 5 stars) but not quite amazing. Otherwise, high marks across the board. Exactly what you’d hope for in a small, private, family-run restaurant.

Just ate here. Not bad at all. The food had all the right components I look for in Mexican food. It was very cheesy and the portions were large. I got the enchilada, tamale, and tostada combo. It was good. Not the best Mexican food I’ve ever had but still delicious. I will say the salsa was amazing not chunky but was loaded with onions and cilantro. Fresh chips were also a bonus. The only downside to the meal was the desserts. Why can’t all Mexican restaurants serve the soft sopapillas and not the crunchy ones. I can’t stand the crunchy ones I like them soft and puffed like a pillow. Other then that a solid 4 star meal. Excellent service btw. Don’t over look this place it may look run down but it’s pretty good!

Great mom and pop Mexican Resturant. Don’t let the small building fool you. The food was great, not pre-packaged or processed and the service was great. Did I mention… it’s super clean. I will definitely be a regular from now on.

Why is it that every Mexican restaurant in this area the people have a horrible attitude and just meh food? I will not be returning here after my last experience. Do not recommend.

Food was fast, hot, and pretty tasty. Seems to be authentic since the tortilla chips were fresh and still warm. Not oily either. Salsa was decent too but I personally prefer a thicker salsa not so thin but there were chunks of tomato, onion and herbs(?cilantro) as well. Service was friendly and attentive even with my limited Spanish our server tried to assist with my queries the best she could and we were able to order food and drinks without difficulty but I couldn’t clearly explain my inquiry to substitute the refried beans… Time to brush up on Spanish :)!! Place was clean and nice assortment of dishes to choose from. My chicken burrito had rice, cheese, guac, sour cream but the chicken didn’t taste as fresh as the other ingredients Like it was reheated. I wonder if the other dishes will have slightly more flavor. Overall I would go again and try something other than the lunch menu.

Solid, authentic Mexican food. I’m a bit of a Mexican food snob, and El Indio, while not the finest I’ve had, was flavorful and traditional. It definitely satisfied my Mexican food craving. I got the chicken tostada, chicken enchilada, and tamale on the combo plate. While I ordered the enchilada as ground beef, the chicken was so good that I was glad they made the mistake. The enchilada sauce could have been a little more plentiful, but the enchilada was very good and really stuffed with meat. The tostada was terrific, with a crisp shell, and the same delicious chicken. The tamale had a good amount of pork and was not too doughy. The rice was okay, but the beans were solid. The place looks a little sketchy on the approach, but the staff were super friendly, attentive, and quick. I highly recommend El Indio for those looking for authentic Mexican food.

We showed up at this place at 930 pm on Saturday and upon entering the establishment they told me the restaurant kitchen was closed because it was slow. It really looked closed, but if you say you are open till 10 pm, you should really serve everybody till 10 pm. This restaurant probably doesn’t even need our business, seems they have a regular crowd. I wish I had a chance to taste their food. We ended up at El Chico Café which was open till 11 pm, it was amazing and delicious. Everything happens for a reason! Thanks for nothing≠)

If you want authentic Mexican food, then this is the place to go. I enjoy getting take out because there is limited seating and wait staff. Great food at a decent price. They also have great specials during the week.

Great hole in the wall restaurant! Had dinner there with friends the other night and had a very good dinner. The meal started with freshly made salsa & chips that were very nice. For my dinner I had the carnitas that were delicious. The pork was moist and extremely tasty. The carnitas came with very tasty rice and beans. I thought the whole meal was very good and very satisfying. The other members of my party got the enchiladas and the tortilla soup. Both of the dishes were also very good. I would definitely check out this place if you are down in the Melbourne area.

We stopped in during our Christmas shopping marathon and so glad to finally get here. Really fresh food. Ramon the co owner waited on us & was very kind & friendly. This place is spotless. The vegetarian burrito was large and fresh as well. If you really like spice or heat, you may want to request some heat. I had a chicken Taco salad. Really liked the slow cooked shredded chicken. A truly great value to eat a light, healthy meal for $ 8.95. Definitely my new favorite Mex place in my new hometown. Don’t hesitate to stop in.

**ACCIDENTALLYLEFTREVIEWUNDERWRONGPLACE — the below text as well as photos pertain to El Tequilas** Great food. Best steak fajitas I’ve ever had, flavorful. 4 stars only because my drink sat empty a handful of times. Left full, overall happy. Authentic Mexican

Decided to check this place out based on Unilocal reviews and we are very glad we did. The food was very fresh and authentic. We had the queso dip to start, it was very good. I had the tacos al Carne and my hubby had a combination plate, both were excellent. The staff was very attentive and friendly. Would definitely go back next time we are in town.

I have read some really good reviews about this place so thought I would give it a shot. First thing is they are fast to seat and drinks came out fast with chips and salsa. I asked if they had Horchata and they have it. A big plus. For lunch I ordered the Tacos El Pastor. I enjoyed my horchata, chips, and salsa while I waited. My lunch was delivered piping hot in a reasonable amount of time. The tacos were very good and a touch spicy which I like. Rice and beans were right on the money. I really enjoyed my lunch here gonna have to give it a try for dinner.

Do NOT judge this place by the way the outside looks. Yes, it looks like a converted gas station from the street. Go inside; it’s clean and has plenty of seating. The food is excellent. Spicy salsa with the chips, and the chile relleno(the true sign of a good Mexican place) is excellent.
