This was a great catch, with a beautiful view. I had the wicked shrimp which was amazing, my husband had the mahi sandwich which was equally delicious. Topped off with Caesar salad, house salad and sweet tea. Great bar drinks as well.

The horrible reviews should have been a hint but the view and location caused us to give it a try. That was a mistake. First we arrived and it had been raining so we sat under the roofed area yet the chairs and table were still wet due to the design of the rain collection. My girlfriend got the rum punch which I tried and we both agreed was horrible. At this point we both decided we should look at the Unilocal reviews and figure out what is good… that should have been our clue to leave. After reading the reviews I wanted to be as charitable as possible so I ordered the smoked fish dip as their menu said they were a fish and smokehouse. The smoked fish dip arrived and was mediocre at best but we started eating and I stated to try and find the best possible meal I could to give them the best shot at providing a great meal as the location really was cool and I wanted to be able to bring people there. I love fish tacos so I asked to waitress to order the Tres Combo Taco which is $ 14. For three tuna tacos it’s $ 14, for three shrimp tacos it’s $ 12, and for three Mahi Tacos it’s $ 12. I have never liked anyone’s shrimp tacos even in California. Any normal person would see this and realize that there is no problem with substituting the shrimp taco with the tuna as I’m actually increasing their profit margin compared to the normal Tuna only dish. So the waitress arrives and after not really liking the fish dip, not liking at all the drink, and having to clean the chair off I asked for the Tres Combo but instead of the shrimp substitute a Tuna. She refused so I asked for the Mahi, she again refused at which point it became clear to us that they did not want our business. I should have listened when before we ordered the fish dip my girlfriend asked if we could just leave but I wanted to give them a chance. Definitely not even worth the chance which is a shame because they really do have a great location.

I wanted to like this place SO badly! I have been eyeing it up for 12 years, but always passed it up due to the mediocre reviews. I finally gave in this year and unfortunately the food and drinks were not good. On the positive side, the location is gorgeous! Perfect spot right on the ocean, nicely decorated and lots of tables right up to the dunes. If I was ranking just atmosphere I would give it a 5. Unfortunately, our drinks(the special of «electric lemonade») was BAD and weak. just tasted like Sprite. The seafood bisque was so bad that I couldn’t even eat it. I was told it was made with shrimp and lobster but there is no way the soup had either… Maybe imitation crab? Over cooked at that? And I never don’t eat what I order… The wings were fine. My husbands burger was fine. Both are best described as «average at best». My lobster Reuben was so weird. I love lobster and I love Reuben’s, but I ended up scraping the excessive sour kraut off the sandwich and picking out the(actually yummy but destroyed in the sandwich) lobster. Sigh. I wish it was better! The location has so much potential… Save your money for the overpriced and bad/average food and hit up almost any other place in the area!

We totally enjoy this on the beach restaurant. the food is good, atmosphere is fun. the staff have always been friendly. It is usually busy since it is directly on the beach, so do not be in a hurry, just enjoy!!! Price is good for the quality of the food. Lite salads, sandwiches, brunch type foods as well. We will go back often.

Fun bar staff. Great drinks. Fantastic view. Didn’t get anything to eat. Last time food was just ok. Go for the drinks and the view. Don’t pay attention to the ripped up, written on and defaced bikini wallpaper in the men’s room. That’s a swing and a miss.

Definetly worth the stop! Top knoch seafood! Trio of tacos, ahi tuna stack… The seafood soup, crab on a waffle — even the sweet potato french fries with the syrup were the best I’ve had in a long time!

Great local place that serves fresh food and delicious cocktails. You can make it a day at the beach and have your food or drinks delivered to your beach chair, which is a really convenient service. The beach is clean and quiet most days and the service is quick. Recommend the blackened mahi summer salad

So we just got some drinks and went onto the beach. The drinks were good, served by a friendly bartender. I can’t review the food as we didn’t have any. My review is concerning the beach. The ripped volleyball net, the peeling picnic tables with broken benches, the huge dead bird right there mixed with the dead fish. It could be a great spot, it’s just tired. It wouldnt take much to clean it up.

Loved this place. Calamari was excellent with a great dipping sauce. I ordered the special D burger. You’ll have to eat it with a fork but it was excellent. Get your fries well-done, you won’t be sorry.

Was meeting some friends from out of town and decided to check this place out because it was right on the beach and seemed like a lot of fun. It sure was! The food was good, the service was attentive and friendly, and the view was fantastic. I’m upset that I don’t live closer to it, as I imagine I’d be here every weekend if I was a resident. The coolest thing about Sand on the Beach is that they offer beverage service right on the beach. There’s a waiter who takes orders and runs drinks. It was just the place I was looking for to catch up with old friends and have a wonderful day at the beach!

I saw the three stars and almost turned around. This is no three star place. You have a million dollar view and a ten million dollar staff. The wait staff is so very sweet, if things are not perfect, they’ll make them perfect. The food, well I got the worst and it was still very good. I got the mussels in the Rockefeller sauce. Basically a white wine sauce with Parmesan cheese. You could eat that sauce off of anything and it would rock. My buddy ordered the fish tacos, they were good for Americanized tacos. Just that I like Mexican street food better. My buddies wife had the burger and it was excellent. All in all a really good place.

Nice bar on the beach you really can’t ask for a better location and the view is making. I never seen this place before and my girlfriend and I decided to stop in for a few drinks. We walked up and sat down my girl friend ordered a Piña Colada, which to me seemed a little bit more pricey for what was in it, artificial mix and a shot, if that for 8 $…I did enjoy their beer selection, their bottle selection wasn’t much and the draft had a few good micros on tap. Our bartender was nice, didn’t really go out of the way to converse with anyone except co workers. The atmosphere was bland, the view was amazing, but there was just stuff missing that could have made the experience a whole lot better, more selection of alcohol, bigger bottle list, more authentic drinks… etc. Things like this can help certain aspects of someone is coming off the beach to have a drink.

Location is everything! Located right on the beach and is perfect for enjoying a meal on the Space Coast and remembering why life in Florida does not suck! The drinks are good. Ordered the Watermelon Lemonade served with rum and it was good, not enough drink for the cost in my opinion but makes for a perfect sip on the beach. I ordered the fish and chips and was underwhelmed. The chips(fries) were good but I really was not a fan of the breading used on the fish. I assumed beer-battered and should have asked prior to ordering but instead it was more of a cornmeal like breading, think grainy corn-dog. I did like the fish they used, mahi mahi is always nice when you can get it. I recommend drinks on the beach or on the Observation deck when you’re in the area!

There are a number of ways to survive the hot Florida Sun but one of my favorite ways is to find a beach that serves ice cold cocktails. Sand on the Beach offers both, I recommend grabbing a seat on the handrail on the second floor it will only be minute or two before a friendly member of the wait staff will be setting you up for a relaxing afternoon. We didn’t have plans to eat here so I really didn’t find a need to do a full inspection of the kitchen all my offerings were poured from a bottle. The attire is Florida causal so don’t over dress a sun dress for the girls, flip flops, shorts and a tee for the guys is more than adequate, if you’re planning to take a refreshing splash in the ocean less is better, there is direct beach access from the bar. They also have a few umbrella covered picnic tables on the beach with full service from the bar. I only see one issue here the parking lot is small and rather tight to maneuver so you might want to take advantage of the public parking lot less than a block away. There are several benefits for using the public parking — for one it’s much larger and there is less of a chance of getting you car all dinged up — reason two you aren’t pulling out from a bar on to a main highway in a highly patrolled area. Remember always drink responsibly.

Worst breakfast experience I’ve ever had. We showed up at 10:15 from Sunday brunch. We were directed upstairs to our table and placed our order for breakfast at 10:20. We sat there with empty mimosa and orange juice glasses and no water until 11:30(over an hour later). When we finally asked the waitress about our food, we were explained there was a large party and our food would be out shortly. We also asked for refills and water. We waited another 30 minutes and did not see our waitress again for any of the requests. Our food finally came… cold and without utensils. Another 15 minutes for utensils and still no refills on drinks. The syrup for our waffles didn’t even arrive before we were fully fed up and walked out. After explaining our poor experience to a manager, we were simply met with the excuse of a large party and that he would«take care of our bill» that we didn’t even eat. Lastly, while waiting for our food, the manager directed a smoker to smoke near our table instead of having her walk outside. She refused to move and stated that she was entitled to smoke there. We explained our frustration to the manager(my girlfriend is asthmatic) and he stated that he can’t ask her to move either. The absolute worst dining experience I’ve ever had.
