This restaurant is located in Melbourne Beach off A1A. We purchased a Groupon based on all the positive reviews. The building that the restaurant is located in, looks a bit weathered. Attached to this building looks like a small motel. Everything here needs refreshening, inside and out. The restaurant is small and seats about 28, and there are a few tables outside on a small patio. The weather was chilly, so we opted for inside dinning. The theme of the restaurant is coastal, surfing specifically. Framed pictures of surfers hang in the dining room. The tables and chairs are made of «wood grain» Formica. At first glance I had decided that this was not the dining experience I was hoping for. We were promptly seated. Only 3 other tables were occupied. The waiter greeted us and asked if we wanted wine. The wine list was a single sheet with a sparse selection. We ordered a glass of Zinfandel and Chianti. One was $ 6.00 the other $ 7.00. Not great. They do however allow you to bring in your own wine for a corkage fee of $ 15.00. I would highly recommend this if you want to enjoy a nice wine with dinner. We started our meal with Eggplant Rolls. We split everything. 3 thinly sliced pieces of eggplant rolled and stuffed with a delicious ricotta filling. It was sitting on top of a perfectly seasoned Marinara sauce. It was served with warm slices of baguette with whole cloves of roasted garlic. The garlic was spreadable like butter and had a creamy mild flavor. Delicious! Our next course was a Caesar Salad. It was more than ample for 2 people. Very tasty. Our entrée was Veal Marsala. It consisted of 3 pieces of veal and fresh quartered mushrooms. It was fabulous. It came with a side of Penne Pasta. Overall the food was above average and a great value, even without the Groupon Prices are reasonable and the portions large. I would dine there again.

We were just driving by this place and figured we would give it a try. Wow. The food was awesome. And prices were not bad at all. Definitely give this place a try.

Probably some of the best food I have had. Their lobster ravioli was amazing and their stuff mushrooms were great! Calzones are also really good and you get a good amount of food for the price!

Wow! Was not expecting this at all, what a little gem! The food was flavorful, fresh, inexpensive and refined. Bravo to the chef… Also to note the pizza was just as good as I’ve had in Italy. I kinda wanted to order one to go to eat the following night

First time at this restaurant. The service was good our server David was very nice and attentive. The food was ok. We had veal Marsala and veal saltimboca. I had a Groupon so that made it worth while, but I wouldn’t go back and pay full price. If your in the area it’s probably worth a try.

Amazing! Everything we had was amazing. We happened to find this place on a day trip to the inlet. Must get the Mussels Di Ablo! We had a variety of food and the special which was Halibut. Everything was delicious.

Mediocre food, service left some to be desired. We weren’t told the daily specials as I overheard other tables being offered. The server was cut and dry, no personality. We waited over 15 minutes just to get the check only to realize they tacked on multiple extra charges that were not legit. We just paid it and left. At this point we didn’t feel welcome. When restaurants stick you with random charges it’s clear they are fine with taking advantage of you so we won’t be visiting again.

Went to visit a friend in Melbourne Beach FL Saturday. Didn’t go inside this place. My friend said it was up for sale not to long ago, and he was considering buying the property, but a guy from NY bought it for cash. Anyway, we picked up a pepperoni and sausage pizza we took home. Best pizza I have ate in a long time. Last i had pizza this good was a visit to NY. So they are doing something right.

This little hidden gem is a must if you’re in the area. Exceptionally clean, friendly staff and reasonably priced. Almost everything on the menu is homemade and very tasty. I had the spaghetti and two homemade meatballs dinner for $ 12. Delicious!

We ordered delivery from here tonight. Was told to expect the food in 45 minutes, but it took an hour… understandable for Easter break week though! The plain cheese pizza was good, not great, but I am used to great pizza since I live in the Philly area. The clams casino app was delicious however for $ 7.95 expected more than 5 tiny clams. Spaghetti and meatball dinner was good as well. For $ 11.75 it would be nice if it came with a side salad or some garlic bread. It came with 2 small pieces of sliced italian bread. Would order from here again, but probably just pizza next time!

The experience here was wonderful. I was in Florida for Spring break, and my friends and I wanted to eat at a nice place that we couldn’t go to back home. When we arrived, we didn’t know exactly what to expect but we were not disappointed. We were given a choice to eat outside or in, and since it was a beautiful night we chose to eat outside, and it was decorated very cute yet classy. We were really happy with our choice by this point, and then the food came. Everything was so fresh and flavorful. We ordered the GCB(Garlic Cheese Bread) for an appetizer and it was AMAZING. For our main meals, I ordered a 10 inch pizza(one of the best I’ve ever had) and my friends both got an assortment of shrimp, clams, and muscles, and they just raved about their meals also! Their was a very good variety to their menu which is always a good thing!(Especially for a picky eaters like me) I would recommend this place to anyone!!!

Yikes, what happened? We’ve been going to Deangelo’s for a couple of years and LOVED it. Went back last night and it was like we were in a different place. We hadn’t been in about 2 months, but I didn’t recognize one face among the staff. Total cleaned house. Menu was the same, but bread went from the nice fresh homemade bread to warmed-over french bread(from Publix?). It was all burned on the bottom, probably from being warmed in the pizza oven? Garlic cloves were replaced with watery garlic hummus, yuck. Shrimp Scampi and Lasagna used to be our faves, but the recipes were totally different and not as good. Waitress said there is a new chef and this is how he makes it. It went from 5 to 2 stars in our book, and we are not happy about that To the owner, if you read this, we think you had a good thing going, but you lost it. PLEASE get it back!!!

De Angelo’s By the Sea For Great Italian Food A family member is a snowbird here in Florida and we were looking for a midway point to meet him for lunch. We have been to De Angelo’s by the Sea a couple of times previously and it was exactly mid point. So, we made a reservation for 12 noon on a Sunday. It took us each 40 minutes to get there & the ride down the coast for us was scenic and easy. We told our family member to look for a big sign on the lawn for where to turn in for parking. He easily found the sign and restaurant. We were the only cars in the parking lot. The hostess/server Kaitlyn greeted us at the door before we even entered and told us to sit where ever we wished. The restaurant was just opening so we were the only occupied table. As I glanced around the restaurant, I admired its casual ambiance, which had a beach-like feel to it. A surfboard hangs on one wall and a long mirror on the adjacent wall. The upper walls are painted a soft pretty shade of blue, the lower walls are painted white; a row of pretty glass tiles suggesting the ocean waves divides the sections. Lively art works from Italy or beach scenes also adorn the dining area. A flat screen TV on another wall was not turned on. Around 14 or 15 small tables fill the small dining area. For larger parties, they move tables together. Windows with white blinds rather than curtains plus blond wood tables and chairs lend a fresh uncluttered look. Our server, Kaitlyn, quickly brought us menus followed by glasses of water with ice. We all decided to order wine by the glass. Our family member chose a wine from Bologna, Italy and we chose our favorite Cabinet Sauvignon, $ 6. After chatting a bit over our glasses of wine, we perused the menu. My husband and I decided to share an order of Eggplant Rollantini, which is slices of eggplant stuffed with ricotta cheese, topped with a fresh San Marzano tomato sauce, $ 7.95. It was tender, and light — perfect for an appetizer. Soon a plate of freshly baked Italian bread slices arrived along with a buttery dip of roasted garlic cloves — so yummy. Our family member decided on Flounder Mediterranean a delicious sounding entrée. The flounder was baked with 2 shrimp wrapped with prosciutto, brimming with fresh mozzarella and topped with feta cheese, sun-dried tomato pesto, kalamata olives, over a bed of spinach in a white wine lemon butter sauce, $ 18.95. It was served with cooked vegetable for him or spaghetti. I decided on Lasagna Bolognese, which consists of layers of fresh egg pasta sheets layered with ricotta cheese, mozzarella cheese and a classic Bolognese meat sauce, $ 12.95. It arrived piping hot with plenty of Bolognese meat sauce on top. My husband ordered the Chicken Marsala. The dish consists of chicken cutlets lightly floured and sautéed with a little butter, mushrooms, herbs, spices and Marsala wine, $ 14.95. We all enjoyed our chosen dishes. We requested more bread to sop up the delicious sauces. Why can’t more Italian restaurants make sauces that taste as good as these do? The menu has plenty of typical Italian pasta specialties, veal & chicken dishes plus a large variety of pizzas. You can even build your own pizza. For those with lighter appetites, there are four salad choices. You can add shrimp or chicken and make it a meal. All of the pastas are homemade. Next time perhaps we will share a Hot Antipasti for Two. I would like to try the Fruitti Di Mare or Chicken Scarpiella as an entrée. My husband would like to try the Rigatoni Pasta with Braciole. There is a Kid’s menu costing $ 4.95 — $ 6.95. Since this was a bit of a trek for us, I decided to take some meals home with us to enjoy another night. I chose Calzone Capri, my husband the Stromboli each $ 9.50 including sauce, filled with several ingredients. I enjoyed the Calzone last night. It was a good size and I still had enough leftover for lunch the next day. It was delicious and I would order it again. My husband enjoyed his Stromboli. We all plan another lunch together and De Angelo’s will probably be the place since it is so convenient, a pleasant ride for all of us and equally distant for us all. Besides the food was delicious and the service was friendly and accommodating. I highly recommend this restaurant.

We come to Melbourne twice a year and always look forward to our dining visit to deangelos(2 – 3 visits per trip.) We never had a bad meal except this time. We order our favorite meals but this time it wasn’t up to standard, the sauce was blend and water down on all three dishes. We ask for bread which supposed to came with dinner the waitress said that they ran out, along with a lot of other stuff(we sat down at 7:30) the people next to us left after they heard the waitress told us this. The waitress just didn’t care about this simple issue the kitchen didn’t try to make any effort at all. We will not go back again on this trip maybe next trip and hope they read this review and correct this issue. If not, we will find other restaurant to spend our money.

What a solid eatery. Really good, authentic Italian cuisine with something for everyone. House made sauces & pastas like the Spinach ravioli the vegetarian in our group had. And two of us had seafood. The shrimp linguini & a Grouper special that was awesome. Solid wine selection and on Wed it’s ladies night. Girls eat free with Purch of entrée which was a big surprise we didn’t expect. Very small & quaint restaurant from a by gone era. And after dinner, you can walk out on the beach just steps from the door.

I’ve had great Italian food, and I’ve had good Italian food. This place was neither. I’ve read about some service issues from other Unilocalers. We felt the service was adequate. Not outstanding, adequate. It’s the food that was a real let down. Three of us were in town for business. We eat out a lot because of our travel. Hopes were high. Two of us ordered chicken dishes, one a pasta dish. The chicken was pounded flat. No problem. It’s chicken piccata. That said it was poorly seasoned, and didn’t have a chickeny texture. It had a sort of foamy feeling. Is that what happens when you boil it? I have no idea. It seemed like the chicken was precooked by itself and then covered in the sauce of the diner’s choice. Mine was covered in a lemon slime. It was gross. So bad I had to eat another meal afterward, but somewhere else. Not the piccata I’d had at other Italian restaurants. I believe my colleague had chicken Parmesan. Not sure which topping was on his styrofoam chicken. Same story. He is normally pretty forgiving of food… he hated it. The third pasta dish was simple and just okay. She was happier than we were. It was so NOT worth it. Look, I think Olive Garden is the scourge of Italian food. But when I went to Olive Garden 10 years ago, it was better than this. Maybe the pizza is better but I’m not willing to give it a second chance. Can’t understand the good reviews at all. Friends of the owner? Can’t figure it out. I’m being generous with two stars.

This is a neighborhood restaurant and should be approached that way. Take your waitresses’ recommendations. Great food. Nice people, staff and clients. Prissy doesn’t work here, the tables are too close together.

Came here because of a coupon but we’ll be back! Quite a surprise to find really good Italian in Melbourne Beach but this is the place. Their chicken marsala was excellent with a side of Italian greens and other vegetables that was amazing. Their pizza was great too. While we waited for our dinner we were treated to a nice bread with roasted garlic to spread on it. I could have made a meal off of that! We were greeted as soon as we walked in and everyone we encountered was very pleasant. Plan on sitting down and taking time to enjoy a great meal.

Really liked the outdoor patio, which is dog-friendly and the staff were so nice to us and brought our dog water with great enthusiasm. We got the margherita pizza and was amazed at the taste and how it filled us up so quickly. DeAngelo’s does NOT skimp on toppings! We will definitely be coming back, and enjoying the gorgeous oceanfront walk after our meal.
