Good food terrible service. I have ordered delivery about 5 times now and they still seem to have trouble finding where I live? I don’t understand why this is so Complicated.

Thought I would try a «new» place but made a mistake. The food is flavorless speaking for the fried rice. Crab Ragoon was good. They are missing some basic fundamentals like salt and pepper. I have my own way to tell if the basic item like fried rice is done right or not. If you can eat it without adding a thing then its at least decent. Teriyaki yummy in Chelsea is still the best all around in my opinion. Lotus xpress is good if you tell them to hold the veggies in the rice. All in all, never again. Note to the owner. You can change the name of the restaurant all you want to temporarily hide your past issues. But your past will always catch up to you. Create good food or not at all.

They brought terrible food into a whole new level. Come on it’s American Chinese food! How can you guys mess it up so bad?! I was born and raised in Shanghai and this place has absolutely nothing to do with the city and the food the city represents. All they have are just cheap knockoffs of real Chinese food. If you have tried and liked real Chinese food before, DONOTGOTHERE.

Clean, tasty and clean tasting. From what I hear the drinks and sushi are great as well. Having had no luck with decent Chinese recent I returned her at the recommendation of a friend. This location is under new managements and its shows. I tried the egg foo young and chicken fingers today. The fingers were not greasy at all. The oil obviously was changed recently, The egg foo young scared me at first as it wasn’t the old school thick brown gravy. It was tasty, not salty and perfect. The sweet sauce is not the old school version that is found mostly in New England, but it certainly passed muster. The hot mustard was hot, and not watery. I’ll be back to try more. Today it gets 4 stars.

For a Californiian visitor; this was a very enjoyable meal. Was sitting in the bar to watch game and the patrons all seemed to be having an enjoyable evening which made a warm, inviting atmosphere. General Chau’s(Tse in Cal) chicken was most tasty.

This place kicks ass! Awesome. Karokee, live bands, great drinks, awesone food, awesome staff. Leo Shawn and Yan do an amazing job with their friendly staff taking good care of you! This is a hidden gem on the Medford Malden line. You will come in a guest and leave a friend! Keno, ATM, Sports, TV, Tap beer, speciality drinks, entertainment, and more… check it out!

I want to like this place. The food is actually pretty good and the staff is great. It’s kind of a neighborhood dive bar. Everyone at the bar seems to now each other and it’s interesting to watch and listen to people shouting at each other across the bar. We keep going back. 3.5 stars is fair

It depends on the day?! Not the best 100% of the time which makes me weary to order. Beef Lo mien is not consistent. Pork fried rice is okay. I’ve had better Chinese take out. I’m not saying I wouldn’t go back I am saying this is not my 1st choice. Step it up Shanghai Moon.

We came here on a Groupon. $ 40 for $ 80 worth of Japanese food. We had been to this place when it was Asia Palace. It was awful then and we had hopes but sadly, it was not to be. The staff was pleasant — one star! The atmosphere — it is a bar with bench tables around the bar with TVs all over the place. Not the type of atmosphere that I want to eat my sushi in. The sushi — this is where they lose all the stars. It wasn’t awful, but it wasn’t good either. I am hoping that this was just an off day. The best offering we had was the volcano roll — it was flavorful and fresh. The rest was tasteless and soggy and oily… How do you have soggy sushi and especially oily sushi when you have nothing fried in the sushi??? I usually feel refreshed and healthy after eating sushi — here, I didn’t feel anything. Sad sushi is not sushi worth eating. Even after the $ 80 Groupon, we still paid another $ 40 plus a tip. They do have Americanized Chinese food that looked ok — one star — maybe that is the better option when coming here. Not worth it. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere — there are better options.

I thought that we would never get a good Chinese food place around here again. Panda palace was the best Chinese food around. And when the owner sold it, the recipes changed and the food quality went way down. Then these new guys came in and made it amazing again. So thank you!

Three of us ordered take out since we were working late on Christmas Day. All together we ordered vegetable dumplings, hot and sour soup, lemon chicken, orange chicken, pepper chicken(fried), and kung pao seabass. Everything was amazing! Parking was a bit tight, the parking lot is in a strip mall. The place was packed so I’m glad we had our food to-go!

Sushi is low quality and overpriced. I found a hair and rotten avocado in my sushi. Presentation of sushi is pretty but atmosphere is strange. Much better sushi is available in Medford. Anywhere. But if you’re needing a sushi fix and have the groupon, this place is ok I guess.

We came here for a sushi lunch recently. There was a parking lot around the corner so parking was very easy. The atmosphere of this place was nice and the service was good. The rolls were average but I found their sushi pizza to be quite interesting.

My favorite is their house fried rice. I wish delivery was quicker, because I alway order at the peak of my hunger. None the less great take out experience.

Nothing special about this establishment other than the fact that it has been remodeled and looks so much better than what it used to be. You’ll get your typical bar people and the food is nothing special. Just typical greasy American Chinese and Frozen fish for sushi.

I bought a groupon for Shanghai Moon, which was good for the Japanese/sushi menu only — fine by me! My boyfriend and I went on a Tuesday night and it was pretty quiet. However, the hostess still brought us to the bar where we were sat at a small high top. Fine. There were tvs all around that we could watch, so that was cool. There were a few people sprinkled around the bar, seemed like locals. The menu had a nice variety of maki rolls. We started with the edamame and ordered four rolls to share. By the end, we ordered one more because they were so tasty! The overall feel of the place was sports bar but it did have a small more formal looking dining section, where there were a couple of families seated that I noticed on the way out. Service was friendly, prices were fair and food was delish — if in the area, I would definitely stop in there again.

Try this place for the first time because I was shopping at the area at the time. My boyfriend and I were craving for sushi and this place came up which is the closest one to where we located. Went in on a Monday night, the place is kind of quite. We want to sit at the bar. We both surprised how the price was quite cheap, even for their drink. Each drink maybe about $ 7.60. We order some sashimi and some small appetizers. They were all taste great and the fish were fresh and look very fancy. Overall, I’m pretty happy with my dinner considering that this place is quite Asian-American restaurant. I came in totally has no expectation but ending up very satisfying with the experience. Maybe will try again in the future if I am happens to be in the area.

3rd times the charm? I think not. This place has changed names(Panda Palace, Asia Palace, now Shanghai Moon. Still the same owner though. Maybe they think changing the name every few years will change things. My wife thought the new name and remodel might make the food better, nope! 1.when we got our menus mine has 2 dried tobiko on there, yum! 2. tempura was edible but sushi and other rolls were mediocre and lacked flavor. The yellowtail jalapeño was so plain and didn’t come with any sauce. 3. the girls wanted fried ice cream, I should say«fried» ice cream. when it came it it was like it was coated in some nasty batter and put in the fridge. It was not crunchy at all. When the waiter came out we asked if it was fried. he said it was not… I shit you not. Why the hell would you call it fried ice cream. My recommendations to the owner, you just cant compete, every time you open a new place here it sucks! Buy better product or get better chefs, from what I’ve seen you guys definitely cheap out. Quit doing that if you want to compete with places like Fuji.

I will start by saying I did not like Asia Palace nor Panda Palace so I was reluctant to try Shanghai Moon but the new look of the bar(looking from the outside) enticed me. What a surprise when I walked in. It was completely remodeled and modern. The food isn’t bad for location and price, so far only one dish I didn’t enjoy. The crab rangoons were stuffed and exploding with cheese and the pepper chicken wings were jumbo and flavorful. The scorpion bowl could use a little tweeking, tasted like juice. The staff are all attentive and enjoyable, I do expect to be there more often as it is close to home.
