I took my son in yesterday to get his hair cut. I should’ve known better than to stick around when the girl who took our names told another customer she couldn’t check her out for another two minutes because she couldn’t clock in yet… but unfortunately we stayed.
We told her to trim it shorter around the ears and bottom and take just a bit off the top so he could keep some of the length. She basically shaved around the bottom and completely butchered the top. I really don’t know what she thought she’d accomplished but the level of incompetence here is unparalleled.
While I was watching the miracle worker cut my son’s hair, another woman came in about a perm. Her English wasn’t perfect and the woman behind the counter asked the young daughter who was with her,“is she speaking English to me?”-in the most condescending tone. The woman on the phone had gotten a perm three days prior and couldn’t tell she’s had one. The women started discussing how she must not have followed the instructions to not shampoo for 48 hours. The women here behaved completely unprofessionally. I don’t know how this place has remained open. Do not go here-​even in absolute desperation. You’re better served cutting your own hair with kitchen shears and no mirror.

Rushed, impolite, did not cut my hair the way I wanted it. terrible… you can do better!

I’m new to Medford and I had no idea where to go to get a good color. Ran across this place and she did a great job. Ask for Candice she really knows what she’s doing!

After reading the other reviews here, I decided to take a chance on a new stylist and a new style, being new to the area and without a trusted stylist yet, which all women know is a scary place to be. ;-)
I called and asked for an appointment with Candace since she had been mentioned twice by name. I was able to get a same day appointment which was really appreciated, but then had to reschedule at the last minute which she was really understanding about and scheduled me for an appointment the next day.
Thank you other reviewers, or I wouldn’t have found Candace! I brought her pictures of the cut and color I was going for. She totally understood what I wanted and steered me toward the color that was as close to what I wanted without actually damaging my fine hair. We went for it, and I am thrilled with the results.
Not only did the color change to honey blonde from brown turn out exactly the way I wanted (which is of course never a guarantee with any major dye job no matter how genius your stylist is because every head of hair reacts differently to the chemicals and pigments), but the hair cut was perfection to suit my thin hair and face shape.
I have two true tests for a good haircut. 1) Can it look good without any products or gadgets to manipulate it? And 2) Does the haircut still look good when you wake up the morning after?
On both accounts, Candace nailed it and I am a very happy customer. I woke up this morning to find that even my shortish new, front facing bangs were cut in such a way that they just laid a different way and still looked like I was having a good hair day. Astonishing! To wake up and run your fingers through your hair barely and have a good hair day? With zero product, no blow dryer, no round brush.
As one mom of a small child to another, bless you, Candace! Sometimes a hair style change can be just the lift you needed in life! :-)

Had some ideas for a pretty drastic dye job. Called and set up an appointment they got me in the same day.
Candice did my hair. And she listened to my ideas and gave some suggestions and really made me feel excited about it.
Took a couple hours because of the bleaching and then the cut after.
And I love it so much!

Stacey J takes pride on what she does. She is very friendly with kids and adults. Great service with quality. We will definitely follow her wherever she goes.

Soon after my haircut began my stylist left to rinse out another employee’s bleach job. I would have been more understanding if it was a customer but come on! I sat there for almost 10 minutes waiting.
After getting her hair rinsed out this other employee starting working at the front counter-​with wet messy hair!
Also, while I was waiting for my stylist to come back I turned in my chair to look around the salon and posted on one wall was a giant handwritten chart with salon/​stylist goals (i.e. explain products to at least 5 people this month) and it had all the employees names and their numbers for the month and the overall salons performance. That is super tacky! This is something that should be posted in the backroom. As a customer I don’t want to feel like a number, I want to feel special. (It also didn’t do any favors to the décor).
Overall, the only reason I would go back to Master Cuts is because I was pleased with my cut but, honestly, I probably won’t because a good product without quality customer service is less than I will accept.

Terrible customer service. I had an appointment earlier this week with Emily. She looked pretty ticked off that even bothered to show up for my appointment, and just told me to sit down then continued to played around on a computer until 5 minutes after my appointment was supposed to start. No proper greeting, no smile, didn’t even get up from the dark computer area at the back of the store when I walked in. She then proceeded to barely speak to me throughout the appointment, mostly speaking to «Stacey» about things that really shouldn’t be discussed in front of customers (private matters, whined about another customer). What bothered me is Emily appeared to be some sort of manager for this store. I was given a ‘just okay’ haircut and horrid customer service experience, and by the manager of the store, and in front of another employee, showing them that is acceptable behavior. I think this is wrong, and will be taking my complaint to corporate as well. Not paying $ 25 for this experience again.

This is so convenient a place; right in the mall. If you are out shopping for an outfit for a special occasion and need a new do for it, it’s right here! Stacey J is the best and the other stylists are very competent too. It’s open til 9, I think so you can squeeze it in after work! I’ve been coming here for ages and am very pleased with the service.
