Food is really good here. I have never had anything I didn’t like but I do have to say this and I hoping the owner reads this. Sometimes they can be extremely rude. It’s usually just a women who does this. But nothing to the point where I would stop coming here but others might take offense and stop coming. But either way it’s a great place and I love it.

Love the cakes here — we always order the Othello cake(not a fan of the marzipan though). (-1 star) because it was a little hard to find. And you have to deal with a cold, bordering rude store keeper.

This pastry is just awful. Came in to get a few macaroons and ended up getting a cream puff as well. I asked if the pastries were made fresh daily and I was told they were. I got home and took one bite of each and couldn’t even finish. My husband took a bite of a macaroon and immediately spit it out. These pastries are not made fresh and tasted like they had been sitting in an open fridge for at least a week. They honestly may have been frozen because they tasted like they were freezer burnt. I paid over $ 10 for a cream puff and two macaroons.

The potato pastries with marzipan and Belgian cream and dusted with cinnamon powder(maybe?) and made to look like little potatoes. I’ve also ordered plenty of special event cakes here. They’re always delicious and beautiful. The mister likes their seven-layer bar.

Emailed and called the owner twice for a custom cake for 12⁄6. Owner didn’t call back until a week later. She called back saying they were on vacation and hoped someone else got back to me. She even said that she hoped I had a good baby shower when it didn’t even happen. Kind of frustrated that I got no response, so I had to order elsewhere. I would think places like this would be more responsive due to their type of business. Unfortunate and I heard good things about their pastry.

the price is little high and the kinds of food is not so much. But it is good place for tufts students to have a coffee or a lunch. The vegetables sandwich is too big, lol

Would be five stars if not for the semi-high prices. Enjoyed a sweet and savory brunch this morning with crêpe suite: one lunch special(ham, cheese, pesto) and one classic(nutella and bananas). The sweet and savory combination was perfect. My friend tried the goat cheese and raved about the toast it came with. Looking forward to going back to try all the seasonal teas and latte flavors(Cinnabon, thin mint, peppermint patty, pumpkin spice, blueberry pie…).

Cool atmosphere. Food is pretty delicious and the desserts are even better. Good option for the tufts students who live on this side of the hill.

The atmosphere and seating is nice and it’s close to Tufts University. There’s free wifi, so you’re bound to see some students enjoying the café and working on things here. The coffee is very good and there’s quite an assortment of pastries. However, they’re a bit dry(especially the cinnamon brioche), but that might be because it was late afternoon when we ordered. The fruit tart was quite tasty.

By far one of the best Pastry shops in the Boston Metro area. If you have a SWEETTOOTH you MUSTTRY Danish Pastry House. It is much better than the 2 «Best Of Boston» Pastry shops and BTW: Best Of Boston is VERY political. I stumbeled upon Danish Pasty House about 6 years ago and whenever I go I stock up and take goodies to friends and everyone is always happy. This place is a top 5 for the entire metro for sweets!(in my humble opinion)

I had ordered 4 different cakes for 4 different events within 4 months. First, i ordered 2 different cakes for my daughter’s 1st birthday on last feb. on which my daughter’s name was misspelled but i didn’t complain because i could fix that myself. So, when i came to order my 3rd cake on last May, i wrote myself what to mention on it again came out with the same problem, misspelled. Again, i didn’t complain because i could fix that too. And, this was witnessed by one of the staff from this place. After these things happened, i was not feeling comfortable to order my 4th cake that i did last Saturday because my family loved the passion fruit signature cake from Danish Pastry. I was fine when i opened to check whether there aren’t any spelling mistakes. The cake looked perfect and the design was fabulous but these things was turned down when my nephew cut the cake. I asked for passion fruit and they gave me chocolate instead. I couldn’t control myself this time, so i made a call and i talked to the manager from the place. She first apologized and promised me to refund the amount i had paid. But, finally she called me back after couple of minutes and said that my order was made accordingly. I told her that i asked you to give me a design for the cake because i order it on the phone but i never gave you a right to change the cake. She said that she would never ever do mistake on the order. She was boasting like she is Ms. Perfect and all the order they prepare from their store are final and perfect. I wasn’t asking for a refund and wasn’t expecting too. But, it doesn’t mean that you should do whatever you want with the customer’s order. Despite of being sorry, she was trying to make me wrong so that she shouldn’t have to refund. Wow, i have never experienced a bad customer service like this before. I personally has been hurt by doing business with Danish Pastry and i wish i should never ever come back in their door for any thing in my future.

I arrived in the Medford neighborhood early for a meeting and decided to stop in for a coffee. The place is lovely, very spacious -!: free wifii! There was plenty of happy friendly staff to help. There were so many choices, so I did my best to make the healthiest one by ordering spinach quiche to go along with peppermint latte. The owner was training new staff at the register when I was checking out. She did a great job of demonstrating the process slowly and clearly to ensure these young trainees understood. Seems like a great place to work. Many happy customers here. I just finished my quiche and it was so tasty with a hint of some seasoning that really enhanced the flavor. I will definitely be back whenever I have a meeting in the neighborhood!

This is a wonderful café and bakery of the real Danish bakery goods and confections! We used to have to bring back bakeries from Denmark in our carry-on because we could not buy it in Boston. Thank goodness that this business opened. Everyting tastes great but I especially love the te birkes(poppy seed covered) pastry and their delicious Kringle. Their 3 seeded bread and dark rye is also fantastic.

Sacher Torte! Wow, what a great great cake. The sweet marzipan and apricot was a perfect complement to the rich, dark, flavorful chocolate. We ordered a half sheet on short notice for my dad’s 70th birthday party. It was a resounding success, and I can’t say I’ve ever eaten a more delicious cake. Highly recommended! Note that I had to make the order to the Watertown bakery, but they happily delivered it to the Medford café. Many thanks, Danish Pastry House!

Honestly, I can’ t comment on much. No vegan pastries. So no idea how those go — but they do look amazing. I got a jasmine tea and it tasted like funeral home. It’s warm and they play funny 90s music. Someone got a salad and it looked enormous and incredible. Can’t say much else — it’s right by the bus stop so that’s a plus! Free wifi too

If I’m looking for something sweet in Medford and you’re looking for me, look here. Danish Pastry House has the best pastries and treats in town. Located dangerously close to our house, I’ve had to exert some serious willpower not to make this an all-the-time stop. What I love about DPH is that they have all your standard favorites: cupcakes, cookies, sandwiches and soups but they also have some unique pastries you can’t find at your average bakery– including my favorites their Scandinavian specialities: Kringle and Brioche Braid. Head to the back of the line and walk the length of their display case– you’ll almost always end up purchasing an impulse croissant or tart. They look JUSTTHATGOOD. There’s a decent amount of seating here but it’s close enough to Tufts that students often post up here, which means it can get crowded at peak times. Bonus points: They take LevelUp!

If you sell something called a Mayor Snail, it’s a four star minimum. Not really. Good thing DaPHo™ bakes up a fierce spread of otherstuffs. The aforementioned swirl of flaky pastry around a core of dark chocolate dollop are probably more fun to shout by name than they are to eat sans utensil(ish gets sticky). Size and quality? Dayum. The off-Broadway cast of Hair could use them as rollers — sweet, gigantic, tender rollers. For those craving a savory brekkie, order the B.E.L.T., the truly periodic stack of bacon, egg, lettuce and tomato on a pressed croissant. $ 7 buys a fully loaded ‘wich with a side of field greens. The press temp could probably drop a notch(outer layer was absolutely charred), and then we’re talking 5 star wares. Much of the selection(both baked goods and coffee dranks) veer on the hypersweet, the former wrought in marzipan, the latter swimming in caramels, chocolates and other candy bar inspired creations. Grab a tall iced tea and a piece of kringle(or the lady’s favorite, D-approved cinnamon kringle knock-off, the Brioche Braid), sit outside and bask in the glory of Boston Ave. With crepes and a Sunday brunch menu, a swath of paninis and other assorted sandwiches, soups and salads throughout the day, there’s plenty of non-pastry choices to get you fat. Yes, even the salad. Deal with it.
