I found Thieves Market on my way to Chesapeake Bagel. I return on a regular basis to wander through the space and enjoy conversations with the owner and his two daughters. The environment is as friendly as the shopper invites. We may wander un disturbed or converse. When the owners are made aware of sought after treasures, they will keep their eyes open and call when an item of interest reaches them. I am wearing a beautiful bumble bed pin purchased yesterday. It is definitely worth your time!

I have been going to Thieves Market since they were at their location in Alexandria, VA. It is so nice to see a family businesses that has been around for so long. Every time I have visited Thieves Market I have had a wonderful experience with friendly employees who really know their antiques. Just recently I noticed the store was completely re-arranged and organized, making it perfect for holiday shopping. I really love how they have some really beautiful place setting on the tables, it shows how your holiday table might look this year! I have also had good luck finding nice vintage and antique jewelry there. I got some very cool sterling silver bangles that I love and am always complimented on.

Since the move from vienna to McLean, this store has gone down hill. Arrived at store at 12:30 pm on a Tuesday and they were not open yet. Another customer knock on door till someone opened up. Store was a mess and I asked about a few pieces that were on the floor and was told they were not for sale or sold. I guess they are more focused on estate sales and not on their store. Very sad.

When my parents moved from Massachusetts to Florida, my mom made the universal decision of getting rid of everything she had that wasn’t contemporary or modern. Apparently old school furniture and glassware doesn’t fly in Boca Raton. So, one day a huuuuge truck of boxes upon boxes of depression glass, Wedgewood, and other porcelain and china about which I have no clue about the make or era is from arrives. What do do? I found Thieves Market on a jaunt to Whole Foods across the street. Stopped in and talked to one of the friendly and helpful employees. The owner will come to our house and do a free on-spot appraisal. Coolness. The shop itself is filled with nice antiques: Lladro figurines, silver plate tea sets, gorgeous crystal chandeliers. and the price point on everything is pretty fair.
