I used to like going to la Madeleine(in other areas). I was here tonight and my food literally took 50 minutes to get to my table. My girlfriend got a chicken caesar sandwich, it was very bland, just a sad sandwich. My dish was very under seasoned. The place itself wasn’t even crowded, not even half of it, which is why I was having a very hard time understating the reason why the food took so long. The staff looked like they hated being there, none of them seemed enthusiastic and just basically seemed pissed off the whole time I was there. To sum it all up, I’m never coming back, it’s an embarrassment to «French cuisine»

This place is a lovely respite from holiday shopping in the mall. The interior is clean and comfy and they offer a nice variety of foods. Being there doesn’t feel like you’re in a mall. I stopped in with my husband and ordered a cup of tomato basil soup to warm me up. The soup was served to me within a minute of my ordering it. It was very creamy and delicious. It was more like a tomato bisque than a tomato soup. They also offer free bread and butter that you can help yourself to(located by the napkin and utensil area). All of the food I saw looked delicious. I look forward to coming back again and ordering a little more next time.

Poorly managed. We ordered to go. Took a long time to get our orders. You think it simple enough but they manage to screw up our orders.

If this place was located near other restaurants it would dry up and blow away. When I went up to order there were 4 or 5 servers at the front, all with their backs turned to the customers. «Service» inattentive and slow… soup, coffee served lukewarm. First coffee, then soup served without a spoon… Customer: «can I please have a spoon?» Server: «they are over there.» My wife asked for a water glass and was give a glass w/lipstick stain on the rim. She pointed this out and rather than just being given another glass, the counter guy says: «where?» This place is really a zero star establishment.

Fast casual french food at Tysons corner mall. You walk in and order like at a fast food place then they give you a big wooden spoon with your order number/letter on it and carry it to an open table. I didn’t wait in line too long. I got the Turkey and brie sandwich with a cup of french onion soup for around $ 10. That’s a couple bucks more than I wanted to spend but hey not too bad for french food right? The sandwich bread was clearly freshly baked, with crispy crust on the outside and a soft chewy interior. The turkey meat itself was okay, deli style regular thickness. but better than a packaged deli meat. The cheese, brie, onion and apple topping added a unique flavor profile to the sandwich. I really wanted more sweetness from the apples to pop out. Finally the french onion soup was pretty good, It had a deep meatty broth flavor which always goes nice caramelized onions and cheese.

This«restaurant» is poorly managed and always runs slow. At times, it gets worse. They run out of fairly common things, cups, ice, drink lids, etc… Their soda machine is usually dispensing flat soda and it usually tastes weird. Occasionally, they bring you the wrong food or bring one persons food long before another’s. If that isn’t bad enough, two people that I know have gotten food poisoning after eating a salad from La Madeline. Definitely not a coincidence. The most recent person who got sick had it happen on Dec. 23rd and spent Christmas in the bathroom… Stay away from this place!

Been here before and it was better but not this time. Had the cinnamon french toast this time which was awful. It was burned and way to sweet. But service was great and nice seating.

Waited 16 minutes for an overdone eggs Benedict and a crêpe with a hair in it. Walk on…

It took 22 minutes for them to make a half sized sandwich 4 inches long… and their reason for why 3 people behind me got their food before me is that they make cold sandwiches first… everyone who works here looks so depressed really not an enjoyable place to dine and especially if youre here on a lunch break.

They were out of strawberries and cashiers were not very friendly. The cashier also handed me a glass and said water stains to make up for the fact that is was dirty. I ordered museli with berries for breakfast and it is suppose to come with milk. The cashier told me I had to get my own milk from the coffee station. Really?!?

No. Just no. It took 22 minutes to receive my to-go order. Yes, I did time it. I ordered at 10:13 and I saw the employee begin to make my order at 10:27. Let me repeat that: They BEGAN to make my order 14 minutes after I ordered it. I watched as every other customer received their orders promptly. I was even asked twice what I was waiting for. This location needs to get it together. Corporate will be hearing from me.

When you want to take a quick break while circling around the mall, this spot is up there with your options. It’s not great, but hey, it’s not bad either. It’s where you go when you’re just in the mood for a quick sip, sit, and eat. If you aren’t aware already, there are plenty of La Madeleine locations around the DMV area, and they are mostly outdoors. Most, if not all, of La Madeleine’s standalone restaurants are so much nicer. This place is made to stand with outdoor seating, and it’s sad that this particular location has no access to sunlight at all! The quality of the food and drinks depends on the time of day, whether it rains or shines, who serves you, what direction the moon is facing, and perhaps whether the weather is cloudy with a chance of meatballs. Don’t expect consistency when you’re in La Madeleine. Especially with this particular location.

I’m actually giving a 3.5 stars on this one. My sister ordered French Onion soup and the new Spicy Basque Country Pasta. Sadly, the French Onion wasn’t even luke warm. My sister ate it because she likes French Onion and didn’t know any better, but I was extremely disappointed when I tried some. While the favors might have been decent, the lack of warmth was off-putting. However, the pasta was absolutely delicious. It wasn’t that spicy, but the pasta was cooked perfectly and the rich flavors were really nice. The sauce was smooth and not too tomatoey. The bread that came with it was perfect for scraping up the extra sauce. I ordered the Salad Sampler with the Strawberry & Bacon salad, tomato bisque, and pasta salad. It was a good amount of food and I was able to have everything I wanted. The salad had a little too much balsamic on it, but it’s just my preference. The tomato bisque was my absolute favorite. Other than the fact that it was just under luke warm, the flavors were absolutely perfect. It was smooth but had the right thickness and a hint of spice. It would’ve been even better if they had heated it up even a little.

First of all let me start by saying that I really enjoy La Madeleine. But not here. The food took a good forty minutes to get to the table and there was nobody in the restaurant. Then not only did the food take forever to get here, there was a rotten grape in the fruit salad. I’m not talking about a little wrinkly and brown. It was completely black with a little white in the middle. When I questioned them about the food, the lady said that it was just because the fruit stuck too close together. She did nothing to fix the problem. I do not recommend that you EVER come to this store, and I know that I most definitely will not return again.

By far the slowest La Madeleine I’ve been to service wise, and the slowest in terms of business, however, the food takes such a LONG time to prepare, makes no sense! I walked in 25 minutes ago, with no line st ALL, and still got my food at such a slow rate. Place needs to get it together; there shouldn’t be a reason for their negligent service, as this isn’t the first encounter of a negative review!

I am a BIGFAN! The mushroom soup is the best than elsewhere. I am not a salad guy, but I love their salad!!! The subs and pastas are nice too. Not to mention their dessert. Great choice for afternoon tea time when shopping at tysons.

I love this La Madeleine. The fruit tarts are to die for– you must, must try these. The staff here are what really make the place, they can be extremely busy and still everything comes out exactly as ordered and quickly. It is really nice that they have bread, butter, lemons ect. by the drinks. The desserts are to die for! If you join the La Madeleine club, you can get a free dessert(no purchase necessary) on your birthday.

I usually love this place just because of its style and the service. The people who work here are pretty nice and respectful but I would not say that they go above & beyond. Although I am usually pleased with their service, I was slightly disappointed in my experience today; I had one waitress yell at me, towards my table, from 10 feet away to ask if the drink in her hand was for me. Never mind that I did not have a sign on my table that showed I was waiting for food but I was also reading and found it very unsettling that she chose to use loud voice rather than to come to my table and ask the question. They were also out of utensils, mainly forks, so the waitress brought my plastic utensils. This was okay but it also took away from the experience of the restaurant. I like the pastries, the quiche, and the cappuccinos here. I have heard good things about the sandwiches as well. I tried the crépe romanoff today; it was just alright and not worth the $ 7 in my opinion but a good between meals dish.

First thing I have to say about the restaurant: super disorganized. Especially being located in Tysons Corner and during lunch time, you would expect some kind of order and flow to the service. The line was out the door by the time I got to the front, there were only two people at the registers, and one person bussing tables. By the time my food came out, my tomato basil soup was cold, my sandwich looked like a sloppy mess, and the spinach in my salad looked like it had been sitting out for days. I definitely do not plan to come back anytime soon. Redeeming qualities: they have a wonderful selection and display of pastries, desserts, and cakes. This is saving the review from a one star, thank you.

The spinach pochette is pretty good, but the french onion soup made me feel as though I was drinking salt water. There are no macarons, but their fruit tarts are a good substitute if you’re looking for a small treat. I learned some French in the restrooms, but I probably ran into 3 or 4 people in the process of trying to get there. The ordering area is mixed in with the beverage, bread, and utensil area — and then to get to the restrooms, you have to maneuver your way through that traffic jam. The menu board over the registers is overwhelming to review. Grab a menu from the counter, it’ll probably make it easier if you’re a first timer like myself.
