Every time I’ve gone to this location I find I leave rather miffed. Most recently I waited 23min at the window which is absurd. I watched as two employees watched what looked like manager putting together everyone’s food. They were walking around, tapping things, looking bored, all while no one was inside and I waited at the window. Finally I saw the window guy put my things in a bag(that had been sitting there for a while) and hand them to me. I waited for him to give me my other drink ordered as he stared back at me. He said«That’s it…» So I replied«No… I didn’t get the other drink I ordered» he asked again wheat it was, gave me my drink, and I left. The tea as very sour, like it had been siting out all night(eww), everything was dry or burned badly(we’re talking black char here), and I was irritated tea I had waited 23min so something that cost me nearly $ 30. If I’d known this was going to be another disappointment I would have gotten sandwiches for the deli and a supermarket. It would have tasted better and been quicker…

Woohoo! Once upon a time, a long time ago, Mckinney had a Sonny Bryan’s. My favorite thing to get there was the Frito pie. It was a Wednesday Special, not a regular item on the menu. Now, I often have a hankering for some Frito pie. With luck I came into Dickey’s and found Frito’s hanging on a Chip Display. I sweet talked the employee behind the counter to let me open the Frito Bag and put it on a plate. Then the magic happened… on top of the Frito’s was jalapeño beans, chopped brisket, cheddar cheese, sour cream, and spicy bar b q sauce. They only charged me $ 5 for my masterpiece! This was a great day in foodie history, I was reunited with my delicious Frito Pie!

The benefit of eating at a chain restaurant is consistency. The product sold at one location should be the same as the next location. I ordered a half rack of ribs to go with no sides. The total was $ 18.00 for 6 ribs. I enquired about the cost of the meal as I felt $ 18 for 6 ribs was very costly. I was told the cost of the meal would be 60 cents more. Being that I was traveling and looking for something to go I selected the ribs only. The ribs were over cooked and dry. I am very disappointed in the service and the quality. Like I stated earlier, when dinning at a chain the product should be consistent from one restaurant to the next. My second issue was the tea container. Most businesses have gone to using plastic liners inside the dispenser. This is done for sanitary reasons which brings me to my point. I selected half sweet and half unsweet tea. When I took a drink of the tea it had soured. I would have returned both the ribs and tea for a full refund had I not been traveling and already down the road. I am very disappointed that the quality assurance standards have failed. The previous reviews indicate that this restaurant has a problem.

went thru the drive through and ordered chicken, baked potato casserole and jalapeño beans; rib plate with Ceasars salad and okra. they didn’t have the chicken so I replaced it with pulled pork. it took them over 15 min to fill the order. finally got home with dinner opened the ribs and they were charred and mostly uneatable, the ribs were more like jerry. the Ceasars salad turned out to be coleslaw. for $ 28 I could have gone to Hutchins BBQ.

They were out of half the menu items. They didn’t give us the order of okra that was supposed to replace the sides that weren’t available. They forgot our drink. Oh and they didn’t give us any bbq sauce. Pretty pathetic.

Baffled. I came in on a Sunday about 7:00 pm. I was immediately told by the manager(he wasn’t dressed like the only other employee I saw in the restaurant) that they were out of many smoked items. Ok. Well I didn’t want to go somewhere else and I figured I could still get a good meal. I made a comment to the manager about it being a busy day since the weather was dry. The manager’s exact words were” I don’t know what to say”. Ok. I ordered a two meat combo with two veggies. I chose pulled pork, ribs, mac, and baked beans. Pork tasted like something out of a bag, the 2 ribs were from the end and had so much bark that caused it to taste like jerky, both vegetables were lukewarm, and the included roll was just an afterthought. It gets better. The restaurant was mess. I grabbed some bbq sauce from the self serve station, but it was spicy, because the sauces weren’t labeled. Ten of the twenty tables in the restaurant needed to be bussed. The dirty tables had dirty plates stacked on them. Simply one of the worst meals I’ve had in quite awhile and it cost me almost $ 14. Look at the menu prices at Hutchins BBQ a much better choice. The best part of the meal was the free cup and the sweet tea. I forgot that they threw in a free drink. I might never eat at Dickeys again.

I’ve always been iffy about Dickey’s BBQ, but I’m willing to give them the benefit of the doubt. This location was close and I was wanting some barbecue. Out of the 3 locations I’ve been to, this is by far the best. I really enjoyed the sausage, it was very tasty and the original BBQ sauce is delicious. I got the green beans and BBQ beans as sides and they were very good. My only complaint was that the brisket was pretty dry(not bad, just dry). Service was great, the people were super friendly. If I want to go to a Dickey’s again, this will be the one I will return to.

I have eaten at Dickey’s many time since this locations opening. I think the food is good but they have become WAY over priced for the portion sizing. I ordered the Big BBQ sandwich and it was anything but big. It was more or less the size a of small hamburger. The bun was very tasty but it was tiny for costing close to $ 6! I know for a fact that the sandwiches had been much bigger. With other great BBQ places around, you would be better served going to Hutchins or Spring Creek. It is definitely more bang for your buck.

I only chose to come to this«BBQ»(if you can call it that) establishment because Hutchins BBQ has yet to reopen after their fire. And of course their food made me so incredibly sick for 3 days, STAYAWAY

I just ordered a veggie plate and my hubby shared a few bites of his brisket and Turkey. It was good. I really liked the baked potato cassarole and the jalepeno pintos. The meat was tender. I enjoyed it.

Dickey’s is a restaurant that does it RIGHT! The food is great, the staff are VERY friendly, and it makes a Texan proud. Great value on their daily specials!

Dickey’s BBQ baked potatoes are good but I’m not a fan of their bbq because it doesn’t taste like they really bbq’d it! It tastes like meat that has been cooked and then bbq flavor sauce added to it and no, no… that’s not what I’m looking for.

This is an easy spot for BBQ if you’re driving north of Dallas. It’s right off the highway with easy on and off access. The brisket was very tender, but fell to pieces very easily. I would have liked it to be a bit firmer. The sausage was good and the sauce had just a hint of heat. There is a dizzying selection of sides include different varieties of potato salad and beans. My friends remarked that the BBQ turkey was good and moist and the pork ribs flavorful. There’s free soft-serve, but it wasn’t very good — grainy.

Hubby & I stopped in on Friday for a quick dinner while on the road. I was not impressed. I had the turkey plate & hubby had the turkey & ribs plate. While the meat portion of the meal was decent, it was nothing to write home about. However, for side dishes, I had mac & cheese & augratin potatoes & hubby had mac & cheese & some sort of pasta salad. The mac & cheese was okay at best. The augratin potatoes… not even close to okay. The pasta salad? Hubby took one bite & pushed it away. Had to have been awful cause hubby loves him some pasta salad. I was disappointed & so was hubby.

Wow. Wow. And some more Wow. I can’t stop thinking about this place. So damn good, I crave the taste. Everyday. In everyway. Fast or slow, sometimes dirty. Rain or snow, blizzards and flurry. Taste so good, melt in your mouth. Texas BBQ from the dirty South. Yeehah! I had their beef and sausage plate. Side of green beans and potato salad. Hot damn cot damn!!! Their brisket is very eatable, but just on par with most bbq places. As gay as it may sound, I love Dickey’s sausage. Best I have ever tasted. The pulled pork is something I also think about all the time. Everyday, when I pass Dickey’s, a tear begins to form in my right eye because I’m not stopping to eat there. But my waistline says«Hold up son, I know what you did last summer.»
