Hours posted aren’t right. We came at about 4pm on a Saturday and the doors were locked. Another guy showed up at the same time with the comment«they are always closed!» Waste of a trip.

The owner was extremely knowledgeable and went above and beyond explaining things even my seasoned Magic player bf didn’t know. Great selection of trading cards and good playing space for a MTG night. He even went so far as to call some regulars in for a game night while we were visiting the Valley.

Stumbled across this place looking for an alternative to the usual places to buy Magic cards in the area. Spacious gaming area, you aren’t packed in like sardines at other places. They also have a nice selection of singles, foils, and rares and the prices are in line with what you would find on tcgplayer. Much rather buy here rather than wait for cards in the mail, and it’s always nice to support a local business. Rares, boosters, and even sealed boxes are all at very competitive prices. $ 110 flat for a Gatecrash preorder? Sold! Especially when other places are marking it up $ 20 or more. I even bought a RTR holiday box for $ 10 less than the price on Amazon. With all that said. the REAL reason this place is getting all of my business from now on is their service and friendly attitude. Every time I’ve gone in they’ve been friendly and attentive, and greet you when you come in the door. a far cry from the other places around here that basically ignore you. While they ring you up, they take the time to let you know about upcoming events and new products that are on the way. A very nice change from Myth Adventures where they treat you like they are doing you a favor for taking your money. My only gripe about this place is the parking is cramped, but it’s not that big of a deal. As long as the customer service never changes, i’ll be going to The Gathering Grounds. Highly recommended
