A lot has changed since my last review. The service and staff are now top notch! They now carry test bikes! That’s perfect if you’re about to buy a bike, test it out to see if you like it. In my instance I tested a camber 29er, I’ve never been on a 29er before. Having able to test it in our trails before buying is a huge advantage. Tim set me up with their test bike and I couldn’t be more satisfied with his service!

Finally I had everything in order to start my bike build. I had previously been told that I would be charged around $ 100 to $ 125 for the assembly but after walking in with the disassembled bike, that wasn’t the story. I was told it would cost $ 185 to $ 225 for the build because it would take over 4 hours and they would have to cut the fork tube. Isn’t that what I’m paying them to do? I was disappointed they had all of a sudden changed the price on me so I took my frame/parts, walked out and went to Wally’s bike shop for the build saving over $ 100. Nice bike shop but steep on the prices.

I visit the RGV regularly. After a bad experience with another bike shop I went to Bicycle World. What a difference! Good selection and service, fair dealings. They act like the y really want your business.

I can’t rate the sale of their bikes, but I can rate the service. I took my Cannondale here for repair. I instructed them to repair the gears and to give me an estimate on anything else which needed repairing. They called a few days later telling me my bike was ready for pickup. I arranged for a vehicle to pick up my bike and retrieved it soon thereafter. They had changed the tubes, ran new brake lines and said the gears were fine. I paid and noticed the handlebars were crooked. Strike one. I give you carte blanche to fix my bike and the handle bars are crooked? They fixed them and I took the bike home. After test driving it the gears were still broke. I arranged for a vehicle again and took it back. I informed them the gears were still broken and they said they had tested the gears and they worked. The«test» consisted of spinning the wheel with the bike suspended and shifting the gears. I asked if they rode it and they admitted they hadn’t. Strike two. I suppose if I wanted to use the bike to hang in my garage and spend my spare time spinning the back tire and shifting gears, I would be thrilled. Again I asked them to repair the gears. They never called(classic Valley) and three weeks later I called them to see if it was ready. They said it was ready and I went to pick it up. I paid, went home for the test drive, and the gears were still broke. Strike three. I’m not for sure what kind of business they are running, but this is inexcusable. A waste of my time and money. You would think they’d WANT to fix your bike so they can make money and provide good service. Any reputable business would call you back within three weeks. If you are reading this and think it’s normal for someone not to return your phone call, you should hit that Falfurrias checkpoint and see what it’s like in the real world. My advice: steer clear and go somewhere else.

TREK, SPECIALIZED… Probably only one of the few places here in the RGV that you can go and buy yourself a decent bike. They stock bikes anywhere from 300+ They not only sell bikes, but they repair them and make sure your bike is up to par to enjoy your next ride safely. They sell helmets, jerseys, gloves. They have financing available. And the Service is good. You can test drive bikes before shelling out some hardcore cash. The staff is really knowledgeable so make sure and ask lots of questions. If its your first time, relax, these guys know what they are doing. Don’t forget to use the bathroom, they somehow used bike parts for every part of the bathroom. Very Interesting i thought. so enjoy. Don’t forget to wear a helmet when you go out riding! And Bring a Friend and introduce them to mountain or road biking, its my favorite would not be able to live without it. Visit to get information about where to ride, and when is the best time to go.
