My favorite store in which I never buy anything from. I love outdoor stores. L.L. Bean only sells their brand, hence becomes the issue. There are so many quality brand products out there, and it seems that L.L.Bean’s quality, although good, is slightly below theirs. I’m sure one day, I’ll buy something there eventually.

I came into this LL Bean with a specific item in mind: women’s slippers. After walking around the store for a couple of minutes I found a salesperson who directed me upstairs to the shoe department. Once there I quickly located slippers but it took a few minutes to find someone to help me and then a 5 – 10 min wait while the shoe person went to find me the slippers to try on. Afterwards, I had to search for another salesperson to ask a question and then, now knowing my size, opting against purchasing in the store as the line was at least 10 people long. Long story short: they probably have what you want but it’s a giant store so knowing what you want in advance can help. I was annoyed by the end at how difficult it was to find someone to help me and by the long wait in the shoe department, hence the 3 stars. Also, be forewarned that not all colors are available int he store.

So yea, L L Bean has a ton of stuff for the outdoors and to keep warm, but I’m sorry the prices are kind of ridiculous. I saw fleeces for $ 90 dollars, that I can get regular price from plenty of nice stores at the mall for less than $ 50. The only thing is that I was told they have a wonderful satisfaction guarantee policy, basically you can take it back even years later if there is some sort of defect in the merchandise. I don’t think I will be shopping here a lot though.
