Where Smell Trumps Flavor Overall: 3 Stars Auntie Anne’s knows how to lure you in with their tantalizing smells and when one is hungry giving in is simple. After grabbing take-out from a nearby burger join I was lured by their intoxicating aroma. Their menu has expanded since the last time I had their pretzels(easily 5+ years). Grabbing a garlic pretzel I headed out. It is nice soft and warm. It has a certain butteryness, but anything else added on is unnecessary fluff. The garlic is nothing but powder put on after they wet the pretzel a little. Auntie Anne’s makes good pretzels but they need to rethink some of the ways they handle their additional flavors. They lack impact.

Usually slow with a very long line. Only offers a discount to mall employees if they pay cash — I guess Teddy Roosevelt is still president if we’re still quibbling over the 2% cost of doing business with credit cards. Also, don’t buy from their kiosk down by LL Bean — they don’t make them fresh there, but merely bring a tray of pretzels down every hour or so from the main food court location. You’ll end up paying the same price for stale, cold pretzels.

Excellent and friendly staffs. Pretzels are fresh. Love their lemonade. Buy 3 get 1 free and don’t forget to sign up for their perks/app for points and coupons.

This little island nugget of food by Bloomingdales isn’t much — some pretzels, pretzel dogs, and lemonade. Typical, but abridged Auntie Anne’a fare. But I was surprised today when my daughter ordered a pizza pretzel and the cashier picked it up, frowned, and said: «No good. It’s too hard,» and promptly threw it away. Most cashiers at a fast food joint wouldn’t care about the quality, they’d just sell the food. +1 star for caring about what you serve your customers. And thank you. Also, my pretzel dog and frozen lemonade were yummy.
