Excellent place. Has it all. Great beer selection, TVs, food(new kitchen and menu), Keno, darts and pool. This is not you father or grandfather’s Maynard anymore. For better or worse, that’s how it is. Friendly staff and crowd. I highly recommend you check it out.

I’ve been here a number of times and it’s interesting and amazing to see the transformation of this bar/restaurant over the last couple of years. What was once thought of a local hangout has turned into a place that has one of the best craft beer selections in the area. Add that this past week they added a new menu with great food and you can’t beat it. Oh and there’s pool, darts, a DJ some nights and a healthy number of TV’s to watch all things sports. Would I recommend this place… unquestionably. When you go try the grilled buffalo chicken wrap and the house bone in or boneless wings are amazing.

Attempted to go on Saturday, 4÷2÷16. Sign on the door said opens at «noon». I showed up with my father at noon and the door was still locked. There were several gentlemen walking around in the bar, but completely ignoring the two of us standing outside in the rain. We waited for ~20 minutes(while ignored) before knocking on the glass to see if any of the three working, would acknowledge us. At this point, one of the older guys was watching TV at the bar and the other two were seemingly just hanging out doing nothing. This is a tiny place and there is zero chance they didn’t see us outside. Either way, they didn’t respond to the knocking and kept on their way. I pulled up the bar’s website and facebook page. There was nothing about the bar opening late or closing for the day. There was also nothing on the door. I called from my cellphone twice and there was no answer. We ended up waiting till ~1230pm before going to shoot some pool at FireFly’s in Marlboro. I happily spent my $ 100 on pool, beers, and food 15 mins down the road. I will never come back to the Pleasant café.

Came in to check out what the place was about and was surprised to see an unexpectedly well put together beer selection. Staff friendly, food reasonably priced and boasted billiards/darts as well. Digital display for draught choices with information(alcohol content, IBUs, prices) was interesting yet informative. Very relaxed atmosphere with great beer? Pretty much a no brainer.

Great Spot for cold beer and sports games. Pool tables are in good shape and the staff is always friendly. Great following for their pool league as well. Great go-to spot.

This is my «hole in the wall«, if you like those kind of places this is a good bar to go to . The drinks are also very affordable and have cheap Seasonal beer, Blue Ribbon . You can get one pumpkin for $ 6 which aren’t a bad size & a mixed drink(that isn’t weak !) for $ 6. You might be hungover the next day but you won’t go bankrupt from going there . You won’t get pressured to keep a tab open if your trying to be good . The Bar Tenders are polite & help you as quick as they can, you actually want to tip . They also have food, loved their Corn Beef /Cabbage & Pulled Pork sandwich . They also have DJs & dancing it’s not just Sports . The DJs are laid back /try to attend requests & the locals might even dance/drop it low with you on the dance floor . I feel safe in their cause the owners watch the door well, not too obnoxious & «ghetto«like you might get in the city . If there’s belligerence things are done. Loud in a happier way overall, people shooting pool & dancing etc. If you get kicked out for falling off a bar stool or getting too sloppy for example you’ll be allowed to go back, they don’t hold grudges & «expel you».who needs those places, not me . If I was showing a new friend around town & they wanted to go out for a drink at night id definitely bring them there . Id even seen people bring dates that end up having fun !

The best place to go for beer and pool in Maynard. 3 pool tables, a juke box, huge bar, drink out back in the summer on the patio(well, it’s a fenced in concrete backyard-thing, with a spastic fluorescent light, ultimate ambiance! Love it or leave it; and I love it!). A good mix of people, longtime local patrons, young professionals, college kids, some of of everyone. There’s a dj night, beer pong night, karaōke night, and bagpipes on Christmas… Family owned, SO friendly, and very safe. Whether you’re new or seasoned, in my experience, someone always watches out for you. There are shenanigans to be expected, and the hooligans are ejected. You can absolutely let your guard down and just have a good time. Gotta love the PC.

This plebe is the local drinking hole. Darts, pool, popcorn, DJ you name it they have it. Bar tender is usually attentive and the scene isn’t loud or obnoxious. Just a bunch of regular people drinking beer. This is a definite go-to anytime you want to hang with a group. The food is above average and the game is always on.

I’ll admit it, the main reason we go here is THEPOPCORN! Every so often one of us will say, «craving popcorn at the PC, let’s go!) The old fashioned kind from the machine with oil and fake butter and salt and… mmmm. Often accompanied by a pitcher of beer($ 10) and some sports on the tube.(Guess you can’t really call it the tube anymore? No tubes in a flat screen tv! But I digress…) Couple of pool tables here, I believe they have pool and dart leagues. This is my kind of place, hometown hangout with cold beer and laid back atmosphere.

I love this bar. It has everything you look for in planning a fun night out. Pool tables, dart boards, plenty of tv’s, 20 different beers on tap, keno, friendly staff, DJ’s for dancing on the weekends… the list just goes on and on. I always have fun here.

I’m very happy with the PC. We frequent this place when possible and ended up having my girlfriend’s birthday party here one Saturday. They were INCREDIBLE hosts. Firstly, the Pleasant Café was one of the only places around the Maynard-Acton-Concord area that called/emailed me back when looking for a venue. Frank, the owner at there, got back to me quickly and was very helpful. We ended up reserving their large function room, for no cost. I was pleasantly surprised by this. The room had HDTV’s, foosball, bar stools/tables, and dartboards. We were also told that we could bring in our food/cake, or order food from them. This was also very helpful. To top it off, they offered to have one of their beer vendors make a ‘Happy Birthday’ sign for us with her picture on it, again for free. I was just very impressed overall with all the PC did for us and how unbelievably helpful Frank was in getting back to me. Saturday’s they usually have a DJ, as was the case this time. Their apps are really tasty, and the bar drinks are made well and are very affordable. You won’t break the bank. As I said before, we frequented the PC before having my girlfriend’s birthday party here, and we will continue to in the future. I’d definitely recommend the PC for either having your party or just stopping there for drinks.

My favorite hometown bar. First 21 drink. Friendly service with right price. Frank Sr. and Frank Jr run a down to earth, friendly, fun atmosphere. Live DJs, good food and great drinks.

Cute little dive bar. Came here to watch my fiancé in his dart league had dinner(bacon cheeseburger) wicked delish! I wasn’t drinking but from what I heard around me drinks are cheap. Service was good nice bartenders and even was waited on by the owner.

This is a great local bar. Good drink prices, bartenders are friendly and they have a good selection of what I would call bar food, burgers, chicken fingers, etc. They have different function nights, darts, karaōke night, DJ night, on the holidays they usually have a special selection of food(corned beef and hash on St. Patty’s). Good place to hang with friend relax and shoot some pool.

Bad management and service. This place is basically a dive bar that tries to be something it’s not. Owner is not friendly and only caters to his regulars. Save your money.

Nice drink selection and the food is decent, but make sure you go over your bill carefully – two separate members of my party were overcharged for drinks they didn’t order. The bartender laughed it off and gave approximate cash refunds, but this just seemed dishonest. If I go back in the future, I would recommend paying for each drink as you order it. This would be a much better bar with better staff.

This is just your old fashioned neighborhood bar. Tin cealings, pool tables, some food(havent tried any) keno & cheap drinks. You’ll find a few regulars holding up the bar way to early in the day. Fresh pop corn is always a plus. Seems safe enough. But I’ve never been late at night.

The Pleasant Café is yet another one of those places that my coworkers and i have walked right by for years and years, and in a fit of whimsy finally walked into. It’s big and lived-in on the inside, clean enough but not so much that you wouldn’t call it dive-y. i can picture it being more so if it was packed with Maynard townies(Maynard is a weird town and i’ve worked here for six years so don’t try to convince me otherwise). The bartender’s really friendly and helpful, and says that he’s working to get a bunch more taps put in, and loaded up with quality beer. If so, this becomes our go-to place for work-related boozing, no question.
