I really liked my experience here. The sales person I worked with was very laid back and professional and seemed to really be open to working with limits and needs. I didn’t feel like I being pressured, and really felt like I got a fairly decent deal. I took a star off because it is a bit more expensive then mattresses you’d buy across the street, but the mattresses they carry are higher quality from what I could tell. Also, the organization of the store really helps you make the best choice. The store is organized from firm, plush and contoured, and then the beds are lined up from most to least expensive in each section. It just made choosing the best mattress with in your price range very easy. I really felt good about the experience.

Since we spend a third of our lives sleeping, we took our time to shop for the perfect mattress. Went to Mayfield road, which is like mattress row and stopped into this well known place. Very large showroom and promptly greeted by very friendly salesperson Ashley, who made the one hour experience fun and educational. She is like the Amy Schumer of mattress sales, giving us the ins and outs of sleeping science but not putting us to sleep with boring fact. She listened to our needs and led us in many directions that she thought would suit us. No pressure at all, and what was nice seemed like she loved her job. I like how all of the beds are separated into style(plush, temperpedic, firm etc). Each bed style color coded so you know which section to go straight to. Though I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and the tour of mattresses(she was so patient with us), narrowed it down to two beds we liked but still shopping around.

I first visited this shop, then Mattress Warehouse across the street(see my Unilocal review of that place too). Immediately upon entering we were met by one of the two salespeople. The man was very friendly. He welcomed us, shook our hands, noted our names, and gave us a thorough orientation to the store. This kind of service and polish is what sets Mattress Firm apart from /above Mattress Warehouse. The man here explained how the entire store was color coded(blue=memory foam; red=pillow top; yellow=firm; orange=plush). While overall I did like the spiel/orientation upon entering, it went on a bit long and I began to feel like I wasn’t allowed to go into the store without finishing my orientation first. The orientation ended by being told the two credit specials and being asked if I wanted to see which I was eligible for before I looked at beds«so I would know my price range.» I declined this offer and we moved into the store. The man was very, very knowledgeable of each mattress — without looking at the tags. He knew his store well. He told us all about the construction of the mattress, how one differed from the other, about the design of the springs, etc… He followed us around the entire time, but it felt more like a guided tour than being followed which may be both a pro and con. Once we laid on one of each of the mattresses — red, orange and yellow and determined which we liked best he took us down the appropriate aisle starting with $$$$ and going to $$. The process was quick and orderly and by the end of the store we had reached a decision and determined a final sales price. The man was very polite the entire time. When we said we were going to shop around more he asked what at all he could do to get us to buy now. He also offered to take 10% off for buying right then and there. He explained the money back guarantee too on identical or «similar» mattresses found elsewhere. I’m not sure how this works because he had also told us that mattresses are made for them with 850 coils where other places only have 800. I would read the asterisk on the guarantee closely before taking advantage of it. Ultimately, despite being hospitably offered water, we departed to check out the prices at Mattress Warehouse across the street where we ultimately purchased a mattress. The Warehouse mattress was $ 200 cheaper, but the store experience not as polished.
