I can honestly say that this was THEWORST experience I have ever had in salon. I asked for Synergy to just brighten my ends a little more(they were already blonde) and trusted them to take care of me because I knew my hair was damaged, but still in overall good condition. The owner assured me that everything was going to be ok and that my hair could handle it. I showed her a picture(which she barely looked at) and she kept saying it will fine, don’t worry. I should have realized that she was not listening to me because she was rushing me the entire time, pushing a ton of products, and there was NOONE in the shop other than me at prime business hours. She slapped bleach on my ends and I sat for just 15 minutes, which tells me she majorly over processed my hair. After she washed out the color, I looked in the mirror in horror that my hair was completely fried(coming out in gobs) and also orange! When I expressed my concern to the owner, she assured me that I just needed to blow dry my hair and even blow dried a piece for me to make me feel better(a blow dry isn’t even included, even with their outrageous pricing). I was in shock about the whole situation and just left, but when I got home and blow dried my whole head– my hair was still falling out and my color was uneven, brassy, and just plain awful. I called the owner the next morning to get a refund or for her to fix it and she refused the refund saying that because she blow dried the section of hair before I left to «prove» it wasn’t damaged and I agreed for her to do this, that she would not refund my money. She FINALLY offered for me to come back in for a conditioning treatment, but to put a toner on my hair to get out the orange would cost me more $$. I am not trying to blackmail, but this experience was literally one of my worst nightmares. I went to another salon in desperation and the stylist was in shock that a «professional» could do what the owner of Synergy did to my hair. I had to do several deep conditioning treatments and cut off inches. So sad that a place like this is still in business. They literally ruined my hair and I will never get the hair I lost or my money back.

I came here for a hair style for a wedding today and I loved how quickly and efficiently they got it done! Appointment at 9:15 done by 10:00 am. There were two ladies drying and curling my hair.(Owner and helper) I have thick hair and they managed well, I love my wedding hair style-Romantic loose curls! So nice and relaxing getting my hair washed and massaged before the styling part. I will be back for another special occasion. :-)

Friendly people but unskilled. I stopped going after my 2nd cut. Expensive as well. The worst part for me though was trying to get removed from their mailing list. I’ve unsubscribed several times but the mail just keeps coming. I even asked the owner to remove me twice but still nothing. Trust me, avoid this salon.

I decided to try Synergy salon for a shellac manicure. I’ve been going to a nail salon regularly and decided I wanted to try a hair salon for my nails since normally they’re nicer and take their time. I made an appointment for 4:15. I got there on time. She finally took me back to get my nails done at 4:45. I almost left, but stayed hoping it’d be worth it. At 4:45, the owner of the salon asked me to pick a color. The options: hot pink, bright red, brown, bright purple, or white. That’s it. I almost laughed… but I stayed. Long story short, after an hour and a half, I had a shellac manicure. No cuticles trimmed. The shellac looked as it I had done it myself-all over my nail beds, ending at differing length on my nail. I was all over my finger. There were grooves on my nail from different thicknesses. I got my nails done on Saturday. Today is Wednesday and they’ve all peeled off. The point of shellac is for them to last 2 weeks. This manicure lasted half of a week and costed $ 15 more than I normally pay. I wish I’d taken pictures before they peeled off, but I will definitely call and try to get a refund. Don’t go here for your nails unless it’s an absolute emergency. If you want the name of a good nail salon in Matthews, message me and I’ll give it to you. I never should have left… because going to this place was a mistake.

It was an AWFUL experience! My «strawberry blonde» hair color request turned into DARKBROWN. I was told it would wash out and lighten over the next week which it did not do. The perm I got in the meantime was so horrendously bad that I was actually laughed at by the kids in my classroom where I teach. It was nothing but a frizzy Afro although I asked only for some waves to give my long hair some movement because the weight was pulling my curls down. I went back after the week she told me to wait because it would relax(and didn’t) and I demanded she fix it. A few hours later I had a dark brown crimped hairstyle where my blonde curls were. She was rude, didn’t listen at all and was very expensive. The color and perm were more than $ 300. She gave me a gift card to give to a friend for $ 50 off a perm but nothing for ME! Terrible, terrible. Stay far away!

I was very pleased with my cut and color at Synergy Salon. I had a thorough consultation where I had the chance to look through the color swatch book and also get suggestions. I rarely get a haircut where I don’t feel I have to go straight home and re-fix it. The cut and style were really great, and the head and hand massage felt wonderful! I’ll definitely go back!

Walked in for a last minute highlight… The writing was on the wall that this would be a bad experience, given that they could fit me in immediately since NOONE else was there. Quy turned my hair bright orange, and when I asked for a refund, or a least a discount, she told me I could have a $ 25 credit toward my next appointment. I’m shocked this place is still in business.

I liked my hair cut but my hair color came out too dark. The appointment also took 3 hrs! they washed my hair for what seemed to be a very long time and slipped in a head and hand massage that cost extra that i did not ask for. I have a personal space issue so for me this was uncomfortable. I was the only customer there the whole time and she would switch with another hair stylist there occasionally. The appt turned out to be very expensive. I would go somewhere else next time because they seemed too eager to sell me products and seemed surprised that i tipped them well. I just happen to be a good tipper and i did like the cut… but thats it. 3 hrs is too long! also, i think i saw a dead roach in a corner. it was not clean. there were pieces of hair everywhere. for a place with no customers you would think it would be clean.
