Nice location. They have a great selection of items. You can buy stuff individually or buy some items as gifts that is already packaged. When I came in they offered me a sample to try but I declined. They have a great selection of chocolates and the store smells fantastic!

This Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory is the best I’ve ever been to! They have local made ice cream and my favorite is the mint chip! It reminds me of Thrifty’s Ice Cream in California! Also, I love their chocolate marshmallow anything treats. They had one a large marshmallow dipped in chocolate and rice crispy treats for $ 1.25. It was a steal. I can’t get enough of this place, and their location seems like a prime spot for cute little shops around.

Great atmosphere, everything is more than tasty and very quality, perfect stop in the morning for coffee, if you like to keep your money local, GOHERE! Coffee from ‘Smelly Cat’ brewery In NODA, as well as delicious locally made ice cream, from Tony’s! A staple and go to place for treats in the Gastonia/Belmont community. This shop fits great into the atmosphere of Matthews, if you’re a local you gotta check it out, and if Not, still make sure you venture out and explore this cool place!!! Double smileys!

First trip to Matthews and hit upon this wonderful chocolate shop. Nice variety of candy apples, rice crispy treats, chocolate hearts for Valentine’s Day, truffles, etc. The shop is very clean and beautifully decorated. I also bought candy bars for our veterans which my daughter and I filled out hand-written messages of thanks to them. Nice idea on the shop’s part! Will definitely come again, perhaps at Easter.

Bought a chocolate pretzel for my wife and awhile chocolate cookie for myself. Cookie was two dollars so I expected something soft and fresh. Cookie was hard, borderline stale. The white chocolate was good but the terrible cookie left a lot to be desired. Not sure I’ll back.

Stumbled across this gem I had no idea it has been open for a year. I got a mixed box of chocolates to try and my mom got one if the Big yummy apples. They have a huge selection everything you can imagine. Fudge, truffles, chocolate covered everything, and about 20 different kind of dipped apples. It’s very good!

Chocolate, chocolate, and more chocolate! Any way yoy want it, they have it. If not, they can probably get it for you. I have to limit myself to no more than two visits per month. Then I have to purchase no more that two pieces that I like. That keeps me grounded which is necessary in this establishment! What I don’t particularly like are the individual prices but sometimes you have to be willing to pay for something so good and I am!

I mean it is chocolate. Pretty hard to go wrong but they got docked a couple stars for lack of variety and a couple other things… please continue reading :) Everything I have tried so far has been pretty good. They have all the carnival usuals like crazy flavored candy coated apples, fudge/bark, rice crispy treats, double chocolate dipped oreos, etc. They also have a decent variety of truffles. My favorite was the Amaretto and irish cream. The espresso one didn’t have much flavor which is shocking and the raspberry cream one was pretty nasty. I also tried their chocolate covered salted caramel bar. Pretty good – needs a little more salt though! I recently tried their mint chocolate and it was okay as well. The chocolate covered pretzel was a little stale and not salty enough but it was ok. I think you see the overall theme here…“OK”…everything is okay and some things are a little better than ok. What wasn’t «ok» was the cost! Geez! They aren’t Godiva! But they were pricey! I’m sure it is normal or even cheap compared to all the«real» chocolatiers out there but $ 2.50 for a bite of chocolate is hard to stomach. Oh by the way, the chocolate covered strawberries LOOKED divine. They also offer several sugar free options. They honestly have all types of treats and goodies, prepackaged chocolates to be given as gifts, etc. They are a welcomed addition to the downtown Matthews area and I will be back due to convenience if nothing else!

Would give this 3.5!!! It is exactly what you’d expect from every Rocky Mountain chocolate factory… You walk but and the smell is irresistible so you have to stop and look, then you HAVE to go inside! Then they tell you to sample then you’re hooked in and have started down a path of no return that ends with you on the couch feeling guilty amongst a mass genocide of candy and fudge wrappers… And wallet 30 $ lighter… But then the euphoria of how damn good the chocolate was how much fun you have and your pledge to start at the gym next week makes everything completely worth it… RECAP: chocolate tastes awesome, fudge is awesome, variety is endless, slightly pricey, totally worth it… They are now part coffee shop and open at 6am… They are pouring brews from local coffee-teers smelly Cat coffee which is really cool since they are not a local brand but choose to support local biz. Great place I will be back, or sucked back in soon I’m sure, my sweet tooth is undeniable, they have the fix!
