My group thought this place was a great escape from the typical cape coralesque restaurants nearby. It definitely was. It isn’t big and it definitely isn’t upscale but they do a good job making you OK with that. We went on Memorial day and got a table outside for a moment and then transferred over to the«inside» area where everyone else was. I order the Cajun chicken sandwich. Can’t say it was my favorite but I did enjoy their cole slaw. The service was pretty good and the price was on point. My group enjoyed their meals and the sizes of said meals, so that helps. Would I come back? Most likely because my wife wants to bring her parents. :)

The Olde Fish House is a must stop every visit to the area. Seating on the water is nice, the grilled grouper delicious, and the hushpuppies are the best. Still my fave.

Tourist attraction at its worst. Food barely average and high priced. Uncomfortable seating. Bad service. Would never go here again.

The essence of pine island! Not fancy, but totally awesome, been coming here since I was a kid! Always a great place to grab a beer, chill outside and hear awesome live music! All fresh and local seafood… doesn’t get much better. The coleslaw and hush puppies are a must

Wow this place has gone downhill. Had been here in years past and loved it. The hush puppies were still awesome. However the fried shrimp was not battered thick enough. Our drinks were empty most of the time and we sat out front and the traffic and parking lot were too close. People smoking a table over grossed us out as well. Need to improve the atmosphere in the«new«seating area.

Delish fish like grouper and mahi dip. Cold beer, cool music and a relaxed vibe. Just a place where locals go. Grab a table in the back for a breeze off the canal.

Nothing fancy about this place but it would lose its allure if there were anything fancy. It’s an outside dining restaurant with good inexpensive fish dishes. I had the Grouper Reuben(I renamed it the Grouben but I doubt it’ll stick). It was possibly the best sandwich I’ve had since I moved down here last year. The Hushpuppies were also totally awesome, served with Honey. We had some beer and some desert so it ended up not being the inexpensive night we’d planned but we felt we got our Money’s worth and will totally return soon. We arrived during a Bingo night. I guess there are frequent evening activities at this place.

Great fish House atmosphere. Dining room mostly open air overlooking the canal. Rustic, you eat at picnic tables. The service and food was excellent! We had the Mai Mai special, the Fish was cooked to perfection, and we got a free drink because of a coupon on Unilocal

We returned to this restaurant in December, expecting to order an «early bird special» which had been advertised in the local paper. We were informed the restaurant wasn’t going to offer those specials any more, even though it had just been advertised. Disappointed, our party of four left without eating there. It seemed that they were likely discontinuing this special in order to capitalize on the upcoming«Snowbird» season in January. Then, just this past Friday, we decided to return for the«all you can eat» mullet fish night. The food was good quality; however, the lemonade, which had come with«free refills» a few months ago was now $ 2.50 per«glass»(served in styrofoam cups). Be advised that only one«Restaurant.com» coupon may be used per table, even if there are several couples, each paying their own bills, with each having bought their own individual coupons. So, if you want to use one of those coupons, don’t go with a group. This seems to be a ridiculous condition of the coupon. We don’t plan to purchase any more of those coupons.

I lovee Matlacha for the quaint, not fancy, restaurants with excent seafood. This place is quite representative of those qualities. The Grouper was excellent with a large filet. There was a local musician playing.

I was being adventurous and ordered the platter that included frog legs. Very good. Rustic outdoor seating. Didn’t think the side dishes were great.

Great place and a great location! Fun fun fun… And tasty ! I was looking for a nice local place with some nice feel to it for some grouper. This is very easily accessible especially if you’re driving from Cape Coral to Pine Island. It’s a very nice establishment in the center of the little downtown area that you have to pass through anyway. And you can sit right on the water. I’ll go back here again for sure.

Cool little dive on the water. Loved the fresh grouper sandwich and the homemade coleslaw(normally don’t care for it) was the best! Can’t give away tropical-twist, have to try it yourself Get fresh fish at the market next door before you leave… Delish! Musicians and ‘misty-things’ were enjoyable and much appreciated. Waitress needs to work on pleasantries a bit. Will go back again… has a good time, Thanks

Of course, we continue to return every time we are in the area– at least twice a year. Sadly only one hush puppy these days w my clam platter– but still divine. We bought fresh huge, brown gulf shrimp on 2 separate occasions to take back to grill. Hands down THE best shrimp we have EVER eaten. Bought some black Grouper as well– husband deemed it delicious. Going back for Labor Day– we will be eating here & buying shrimp to take back home.

We didn’t come for the market, although it sounded like a great idea — we came for dinner. This would have been three stars: A-OK, but other issues dragged it down. The food was OK, if you don’t mind people smoking at the tables near you… it’s covered outdoor dining, so smoking happens. When the reviewer said, «depending on the time of day,» that was more significant than I’d thought. We love places that are open on the water, usually. We got there after 6 pm, hoping to enjoy dinner and sunset and hear live music — and discovered that unlike every other place in that area, the Olde Fish House had a band that stopped playing in mid-afternoon that day. Couldn’t check this on the Events Calendar on their website because they stopped updating that calendar last October(that’s why two stars instead of three). So yes, the food was OK, good fresh fish. Ambience: picnic tables with benches on a shaded deck. View of the canals around the marina, but not of sunset(sun sets behind the coffee house just across the bridge). Local fishermen like it and eat here, but then again a lot of them smoke, so be aware. Misters operate at the edges of the roof during the day — mixed blessing but fun for the kids. Our server was the only one working the place.

Well worth the backed up drive through traffic to buy grouper and shrimp caught today!!! The voucher purchase for getting $ 20 worth for half price was icing on the cake!!! The place was packed, but all staff was friendly and helpful. We are two very satisfied customers who plan to take advantage of this savings again!

Well this is my first review of the year. I must say its good. This is a market & eatery. You cannot get it any fresher. It comes from the ocean to your table. I had fried mahi mahi. Cooked to a golden brown. With tasty cole slaw, hush puppies and delightful garlic french fries. My server, Brandon, was outstanding. Very knowledgeable and attentive. Not a fancy place you are on the water and out doors. Plates are paper or such. A bit pricey, but all seafood is expensive in Florida. I believe they charge more so the Government can get more tax money.(There is no income tax in Florida) Everyone I talk with were great. My only issue was leaving the parking lot. A bit of a struggle with only a 2 lane road. Despite this I highly recommend you give them a try.

Definitely a dive bar. That being said what I had to eat was really top notch. I had the grilled grouper sandwich. It was cooked perfectly, Juicy and flakey. The roll was nice and soft and the toppings were crisp and fresh. The service was friendly and prompt I will be back when in the area.

Came in the first time in June. It was like 3 pm and the place was empty so I pulled a table right next to the waterfront to order a beer followed by a Shrimp Po Boy sandwich. Service was friendly and the food was good. Great views of the lagoon there sitting at the dining spot. Next time I came to buy some fish from their market inside the place. Got a nice fillet of Red Snapper that I took home to bake in the oven myself. Was not cheap by any means at $ 22 a pound but the quality and freshness was incredibly awesome. They said their fish and seafood are locally caught plus brought in that day. Not a tremendous selection there but decent enough to find some fish to buy to take home. They even put some ice on top of the product inside the plastic bag for me even though I only live a few miles away.
