This place is great, it’s in my neighborhood and I finally decided to check it out. We went on Valentine’s Day about 3pm, they still had tables available although we opted to sit at the bar. We ordered some Margaritas, warm olives and the empanada. The drinks were tasty and strong ($ 10 each). It has a real chill vibe, looks very rustic and the employees were friendly. While sitting at the bar we noticed a chalk board that list an array of classes they host, from wine/cheese to baguette making … This will def be my new favorite spot.

Great ambiance, great food, great service, great dessert/coffee selection. Just an overall great experience. I will definitely be going back in the future. We went early on a Saturday to avoid having to wait(small place that doesn’t take reservations for 2) but everything we ate was so delicious I would probably wait to eat there like many others were doing– while enjoying a glass of wine. The people who wrote reviews about all the tapas not coming out at the same time I guess have never eaten at a tapas place before– that’s how these places operate– get it together. I will say that my husband and I ordered 4 tapas with the bread basket and we were stuffed! Can’t wait to return and try more things from the menu!

Amazing! I have eaten at Salumi three times now and have yet to be disappointed. I always have great service and never feel rushed. I have tried quite a few different things and always leave wanting to go back again! Salumi is a great tapas and wine place. It is a must try.

If I could give this place 1000 stars I would!!! First time there last night, and for sure will not be my last! Got there an hour or so before Happy Hour ended, which was great. Buy 1 Get 1 glasses of wine, cant beat that!!! The wine we picked was amazing. The bartender/waitress helped us to pick different things to try and everything we ate was UNBELIEVABLE! She was spot on with her recommendations! Service was impeccible, start to finish! Cant wait to go back!

Great atmosphere and very fair prices. Cheese boards and some good drinks is all you need. Most small plates i have tasted are very good, not great. Some of the dishes are heated behind the bar and didn’t come out as hot as they should be. Happened on two occasions with the Marrow. And another dish i cannot remember. Wont stop me from going anytime we have a chance. Have tried everything on the menu, always go with the specials.

I’ve been to Salumi more times than I can count so reading some of these bad reviews is making me literally laugh out loud. I HAVENEVERHAD A BADEXPERIENCEHERE!!! The food is excellent, the staff/owners are some of the nicest people and their wine selection is great! People love to complain about legit everything… put your phone down, enjoy a glass of wine, have a good conversation with whom you are with and enjoy your evening. One of the best restaurants on the south shore! LOVELOVELOVE!

Super nice bartenders, delicious food, they have some interesting, different but very tasty selections. will be back! nice atmosphere, relaxed theme, laid back crowd, not really crowded. Just wanted to emphasize how nice our bartender was, wish I remembered his name. This is my new spot, cant wait to try some more food here!

I want to love this place. I really really do. It has a hip atmosphere and recently doubled in size to accommodate more diners. The wine list is great and the bartenders knowledgable. Prices for full bottles of wine at the table are extremely reasonable. I love tapas and meat boards which they have plenty of. Here ends my positives… Twice we have gone and we live and dine locally as a preference. Both times our service was sub-par to say the least. Last night was the worst. We were sat and not greeted for five minutes. Then we ordered two glasses of wine. One was brought out five minutes late while I had to wait another 5 – 7 minutes for the second. Why would a server bring ONE of TWO glasses of wine and then disappear? Fine, no big deal. We ordered a 30 $ board and it came without one of the meats. It took us five minutes to find our server who apologized and said it would be fixed. 10 minutes later a plate of the wrong meat came out. Five minutes after that the correct meat came out but this is now 20 minutes after our board was served, totally unacceptable. We then ordered two simple tapas plates. One came out but not the other. The other came out 5 – 8 minutes later. We ordered two more glasses of wine which took another 7 minutes to come out. Our server never really paid us any attention as she realized at that point so many stupid little things had gone wrong. But just own up, apologize and move on! We kept ordering and were polite to her. No reason for this type of low class serving in a fine dining priced atmosphere. Finally our check came out without a thank you. My credit card was taken and the returned without a thank you. My previous experience was similar with plates taking an hour to come out but that night was at least busy. Last night was not. Get it together Salumi. Seriously. I want to love this place but for now they have some work to do to earn any repeat business.

One word — AMAZING. My husband and I come all the way from Brooklyn to go to this place! I have friends and family who live in the area so Salumi is one of our main go to places. I’ve been here with my friends, my parents, and sometimes just my husband and I and every time we’ve come here it’s been absolutely fantastic. My sister picks this place every year for her birthday dinner celebration and it is one of the few places she will eat out at(she is a very picky eater). I love the atmosphere of the place, which is very rustic and hip and reminds me a lot of some of the newer trendy wine bars in Brooklyn(but better). They have amazing wine selections by the glass and also have wine flight specials(I’ve had both red and white flights and they’ve been really good every time I’ve tried them). I’ve also sometimes order the bottles, which I’ve also enjoyed, but tend to stick to the glasses of wine as I usually like to try a variety of them. They also have delicious sangria(my favorite is the rose sangria). The food is absolutely outstanding. I’ve tried many of the cheeses and the tapas — my favorite is the polenta with mushrooms. I am really not a polenta fan at all but this polenta is out of this world — I order it every time I go there. My husband loves the pork belly bocadillo and says it is one of the best sandwiches he has ever eaten. The food is very fresh and homey and I like that you can get a few small plates to sample different things. The service at Salumi is great. The waitresses are really knowledgeable, friendly, attentive and are constantly checking to see if you need anything. I really have nothing negative to say about this place other than I wish it were closer to where I live! Definitely check it out if you are in the area.

We had a great time. The service was great, menu had good selections, easy to read thankfully they had lights over the table so you could actually read a menu so I didn’t have to take my phone out and light up the menu. We picked the Spanish sampler board. and some sangria. Prices were very reasonable. Also ordered polenta, came with mushrooms, Very well made and tasty. my only suggestion is that they should add more combo boards. They have all kinds of ingredients listed, cheeses, meats etc. that you select three of this or five of this. Problem is I don’t know what some of the items are and offering up more boards that already have selections made make it alot less intimidating

Always a favorite, always excellent for wine and tapas. Best selection in the area. Owners and staff are friendly and helpful. Their menu is seasonal and absolutely everything I’ve ever had is excellent.

Salumi has recently added a new addition to its already popular space — a café and marketplace next door. I was able to attend the opening night and Beaujolais Nouveau event to find out more about the plans for this section and learn more about the philosophy of the Salumi team in general, which is a good one. Lining the walls of the new space are many specialty items for sale(although disappointing you are unable to buy bottles of wine to go due to the current laws). In the middle are three long communal standing tables, with a couch and table towards the front. It makes for a very casual place to grab a café type treat(see photo for the offerings) or one of the many interesting types of coffee(Georgio Coffee Roasters — another LI fav is provider of some of the coffee as well as Intelligentsia according to Valerie, general manager here.) They plan on having different events here each night throughout the week — wine tasting, food classes, music, etc. giving everyone a warm fun environment to perhaps gain a little knowledge as well. At the event, they generously supplied us with tastings of Beaujolais, mainly focused on this season’s Nouveau. I was also able to sample many of the cheese and cured meats on offer here, which were all just incredibly delicious(probably already familiar with so many satisfied customers that simply love this place) As many probably already know they have a sister restaurant in Garden City called Bar Plancha which I plan on attending tonight. Lots of great stuff has been happening here and is just continuing to get better and better. Lilly, Josh, Valerie, Andrew, the entire crew go out of their way to make sure your experience is as good as can be.

I had high expectations for this place after having gone to Plancha in Garden City a few weeks ago. This place is similar to its sister restaurant PLANCHA(menu is VERY similar). However the waitresses at this place are way too disorganized. Our waitress not only forgot to take our order, but then forgot what we ordered. The food, I thought was also somewhat sub-par in comparison to Plancha. The bread was cold and a little stale which made the meat and cheese platter not so great. We ordered also this cheese /pumpkin thing that had so much fennel in it that it was just sour and not good. Also, the place is too dark overall for a restaurant. Overall: If you can get to PLANCHA, go there instead. Its much better.

Hello Tapas done expertly well in Massapequa. Small Merrick Road located restaurant. Only negative is that it’s loud, really loud due to its small size. The perfect tapas menu with daily changing specials, 2 for 1 drinks before 6 during Happy Hour, excellent service, plus the right mix of wine and beer choices, including flights of wine available, Tried the anchovies tapas, chicken liver pâté and grilled octopus, all a solid 4 stars out of 5, portion size spot on European portions! Nice background music, the bar packed with women who love the buzz and the scene there, definitely going back!

By far my favorite local spot. The staff is always friendly and accommodating, the food is AWESOME, and the selection of wine is great as well. The laid back, rustic yet trendy vibe of this place makes a perfect venue for date night or drinks with friends. Some of my favorites here are the polenta, the octopus, and the Spanish cheese board. Highly, highly recommend!

I already love wine bars but Salumi is really something else… I dream about this place. When I’m bored, I look at photos of what I want to try next time I’m there. Everything about it is immaculate. Of all the restaurant establishments that I’ve been to, I’d say the service at Salumi has truly been the best. During my last visit, our waiter Anthony was extremely pleasant, knowledgeable, funny, attentive — the qualities that you’d look for in any person really. His hospitality was wonderful. We felt very comfortable, were not rushed once, and really enjoyed the few hours that we spent there. Each time that I’ve been to Salumi, we’ve ordered one of their cured meat and cheese boards with wine. They have a nice selection of wine by the glass, it’s a bit limited but I always find something that I like. Of course, being a wine bar, they have an extensive selection of wine by the bottle. I haven’t delved into that portion of the menu yet because I tend to go on weekdays and definitely not trying to wild out. They have 3 pre-built boards(Spanish, Italian, and mixed cheese) or you can assemble your own, picking 3 or 5 meats/cheeses. On my first visit, we just asked our bartender(Andrew) to build it based on what would pair nicely with the wine we were drinking. He did a great job choosing. I also LOVE the Spanish board and can’t wait to try the Italian board. I’d recommend ordering a bread basket to accompany any meats and cheeses that you may be trying. Now their tapas menus… definitely different and really good. Honestly, they’ve perfected everything on their menu. Salumi is definitely one of my favorite spots on Long Island. So classy, rustic, intimate. Great for a date, catching up with friends, regulars, first-timers. As soon as you walk in, the atmosphere invites you to sit and chat for hours over delicious wine and food. Pricing can get a bit expensive if you’re not careful. I would eat here all the time if I could. And I live 45 minutes away. Yes, the hype is real.

Atmosphere: From the outside it looks shitty, but inside it’s a rustic gem. I kept saying that it smelt so good, but it really did :) The décor is beautiful. Booze: The wine list is amazing. I had one of the Riojas and it was fabulous. Tasty and not overpriced. The bartenders are very knowledgeable. Food: Oxtail– I’ve never had it before my visit. It was a little fatty(I don’t know if that’s typical) but definitely had good flavor. Tasted just like braised beef. Grilled octopus– Yummy and tender. Not fishy. Burrata– It was seasoned well and came with herbs, onions and tomato. Glazed corn– We had to fight over this at my table. It was sweet without tasting like dessert. Really delicious. Meat/cheese board– We got lomo, prosciutto and Manchego. I would recommend trying the 5 combo instead of 3(like we did) because we loved everything. Also, get an extra bread basket. They season the bread with salt and olive oil and it’s the best. Price– All of this cost $ 130– without tip. In addition to the food, we had a bottle of wine and a few cocktails. I picked up the tab for everyone because I was so shocked! Not expensive. Unless they made a mistake lol Overall– The tapas were great, but I would probably stick the the meats and cheese and try and fill up on as many as possible. I’ll definitely be back. Great job, Salumi. You’ve made a fan out of me!

I love I love I love. I’ve been wanting to come here for the past two weeks so I had to come out here today for it. The waiter was very pleasant, the food, meat and cheese board, market salad and whatever else he got lol was great. It was very nice and relaxing to have dinner and listen to the live performance.

I want to save all my money and eat here always. Let’s start with the empanadas. They change the filling every day, so I’m guessing the chef gets creative with what is lying around. I had some kind of pork with apple and it had a mashed potato consistency. The crust was burnt on the edges and it wasn’t a mistake. I had to call the waitress immediately to ask her about this magical empanada, she was knowledgable and friendly but the empanada was sooooo good, that I can’t remember any of what she was saying. The décor is eye-catching, a whimsical love affair for wine-lovers on Long Island who obviously don’t have time to visit the wineries more than a few times a year. They had white, red, AND Rosé sangria. I went for the rose(which I don’t like) because i hadn’t seen it anywhere else. It was good if you like Rosé. The Serrano ham was hanging from a leg in the back of the establishment, being sliced as you ordered. All bread baked on premises. The dessert was a «pound cake» with blueberries. They should find another name for it. Entenmann’s pound cake(which is not that bad) is to Salumi’s pound cake as McDonald’s Apple pie is to your grandmas pie in South Carolina. Grandma picked the apples and spent all of Saturday in the kitchen making this for you after your fifteen hour drive to see her.
