Dined in for dinner in the back of the pizzeria. Menu has your typical pizzeria /Italian fair of personal pies, paninis, heros, salads, pastas and entrees. The prices seem to be a little higher than what I’m used to for a pizzeria, but the portion I got was large and I got two meals out of it. Ordered the chicken fiorentina which came with breaded chicken cutlets, mushrooms, onions served over sautéed spinach in a marsala wine sauce. The waitress suggested I try it with bow tie pasta with the sauce the dish came in. I did and it was great. Sprinkled some Parmesan cheese and some red pepper flakes and the dish was delicious.(I think I liked it even more the next day) Service was really slow and spotty. Probably took 10 mins before the waitress even introduced herself. I was with my boyfriend we placed our orders then a table of 4 came and sat next to us. They ordered appetizers and entrees way after us they got their food, and finished eating before we even got ours! I think they knew the waitress so I don’t know if their order got pushed ahead. The waitress we had has apparently been working there for 18 years she was very nice, but the wait for the food was way too long and I only had my water glasses refilled once. I don’t know if I would return to dine in here.

Long Island is a tough market to compete in for pizza and Gino’s consistently tops. I’ve seen some of the same people working the pizza now for 15+ years. Great employee retention and excellent food. Some of our favorite items include the special salad, the margarita pizza, and any of the soups.

We had my husbands family over and ordered a pizza with two extra slices and soda. After an hour of waiting I called and they said they were on their way. They showed up almost 2 hours later with only the pie. The delivery guy said he did not have the entire order. I asked him how much just the pizza costs and he said he wasn’t sure and that I should call Gino’s. He didn’t take any money. I gave him a tip and they ate the cold pizza pie(minus the other food we ordered). I tried to call Gino’s several times but the line was consistently busy and I gave up. Another hour later, after my husbands family was long gone, the delivery guy shows up again with the rest of the order and asking for the full price this time. My husband told him we didn’t want it now as it was 3 hours after we ordered. The delivery guy said he would be responsible for the cost. I called Gino’s again numerous times after getting busy signals. Finally waited on hold for 5 minutes for a manager. The manager was not apologetic and said he sent the rest of the order as soon as he could, as they were busy. I said I didn’t want the delivery guy to be responsible for the order and his response was«I know how to handle my employees.» He asked if I needed anything else. I told him I would never order again from there. His response was«ok have a good night.» I feel horrible for the delivery guy! NEVER ordering from there again. Horrible customer service.

Always fresh, always delicious. It has the long island vibe that you don’t realize you love until you move away. Every time I am home on LI, we go here.

I give it 5 stars if you admit Gino’s is what it is. It’s solid local Italian Neighborhood Joint. It’s the place to go when you want to eat and not get dressed up. The waitresses are all nice teenage girls or women who have worked there for years. There are a few waitresses who know my parents names and say hello«Mr. and Mrs.. .. « The downsides: For as great as the food and service can be. .. no restaurant is worth the lines they have on busy nights. Go at 5:30 or 6 to beat the rush. The upsides: There is a reason there is sometimes a line out the door. The food and service are great. It’s a place you take your family on a Tuesday. It’s not a place you take a date on a Friday. That being said, Gino’s has catered a number of family occasions. And quoting another reviewer, if you’re in a rush(which sometimes I am) this isn’t the place for you. This is great for people who wanted to have a nice family meal without having to cook it themselves.

One thing I will never understand is how this place is considered the best/most popular place in massapequa, there regular slice is the only thing that could be passed as decent, Sicilian is always undercooked flimsy, I’ll give it to them that the CPH(chicken parm hero) is good… Something I have to get off my chest is what occurred today, fried chicken hero with melted cheese, lettuce tomato on toasted garlic hero. The«toasted garlic hero» was a regular hero roll that had to of been thrown in a bucket of liquid garlic, the cheese was melted on the lettuce and tomato and not the fried chicken so when I ate the hero all i tasted was a soaking wet garlic taste and now 7 hours later every single belch that comes out of me is instant gag worthy and I’ve eaten everything from potato chips to ice cream to starburst to no luck, the man at the counter who helped me was a complete sweetheart inside and out who i could tell in his heart wanted to truly make me a happy customer so I can not fault him for that, btw if anyone knows what his name is that would be great because I would like to give him a care package for his help, anyway this place has really gone down the crapper and not sure how it stays afloat All good– Chris Bash

Ordered pizza and chicken Parmesan entrée with penne take out. The food was hot and good. Only complaint. The sauce was very salty. I usually love their chicken parm but the sauce on the pasta was very salty.

I have had three items from Gino’s. All three were great. The Grandma’s pizza is by far my favorite. Best I’ve had. Great regular slices and meatball parm hero!

This review is for the table service(I have yet to order the pizza and experience counter service). The waitresses are great — friendly, attentive, and can help comment on menu options. Dierdre made a dessert choice for me(rainbow cookie cake) and my taste buds thank her for it. I even went back the next day JUST to have the rainbow cookie cake and coffee. Then, went back the following week for the cake. The service is relaxed and I appreciate it if I’m trying to digest between meals. However, if you’re in a hurry, either tell your server or order counter service. Food is a hit or miss but with more hits. Love love love the fact that they service table bread all toasty and warm — focaccia and regular italian bread. Grilled chicken w broccoli rabe is a healthy and safe bet. Their specials are usually good. Wasn’t crazy about their pasta w mixed seafood — too salty. Tortellini in brodo soup is really good. All other desserts are pretty good but the rainbow cookie cake trumps them all. Ambiance is casual and clean. A small enough space where you don’t feel cramped and service still feels intimate, but big enough where you’re not on top of the next table if you are not in a booth.

4.5 stars for the pizza 3 for food. I order delivery from ginos for years now and ate inside as well. The pizza is awesome, regular, grandma, ect, all of it. The pepperoni pinwheels, calzones, ect all great. The food, meaning salads, pasta, chicken or fish dishes, are average. If your ordering pizza this is the place to call.

In the past I could of easily given Gino’s in Massapequa Park(not Massapequa as listed. 100% separate towns) 4 stars. Never 5 because the service is fair to poor at best. After tonight, I have changed my rating to 1 star. And after roughly 13 years of going there, my days are most likely done. Tonight, instead of ordering a pie, I picked up 2 grandma slices and 3 Sicilian slices. After requesting all ‘end’(not a middle slice that is crust less which they ultimately slipped in) I paid for my order and was home within 5 minutes. I open the box and proceed to see one of the Sicilian slices was burnt and a second Sicilian slice was burnt on the bottom beyond recognition. It looked like black top. After eating 2 of the Sicilian slices I saved the last burnt piece for last. I was going to attempt to scrape the burnt parts off but it was useless. It also smelled horrible. I literally balled it up and threw it in the garbage. After some thought I decided to call and complain about this. I told them what happened and they asked if I wanted to come in and pick it up. After working all day, and having my dinner basically ruined, the last thing I wanted to do was get in my car and drive again. They offered me a credit for the 2 slices for the next time I come in. I think they should of at least sent them out with the next delivery guy when he was in the area. I highly doubt I will use this credit. The counter service has been poor for years. Especially since Gino’s split off into sub owners instead of being one Gino’s of 15 plus locations. I had an incident like this a few years ago while a counter person tried to slip burnt food into the bag after I paid for it. I knew it was burnt because I could smell it and it was in the oven for over 10 minutes. When I said I wasn’t taking it the counter worker got real nasty and I asked for my money back. I called from the parking lot and they offered to deliver an order to my house for free. That worker(who was always nasty) was gone shortly after. I stopped going for month or so but decided to give them a second chance. Since then, the counter help is still poor at best. I don’t want to sound racist, but is almost completely male Hispanic and customer service skills are sorely lacking. The food was always good here with the occasional misses like all places have. But the service is horrible and will never get any better. It was good years ago, but they seem not to care. I’ll start exploring local places that are closer to me. I have a place 2 blocks away from me but I would drive 2 miles just for Gino’s or go there on my way home from work which was mostly on a Friday night. You want a good hint Mr or Mrs Gino’s owner. Hire better counter people. And inspect the food before it leaves your place.

Ala vodka pizza… penne ala vodka… chicken parm… regular pizza… sicilian pizza… it’s all so delicious. Even the salads are yummy. I promise you… lettuce never looked so good until you see it on one of Gino’s plates lightly drizzled with balsamic dressing. Take $ 40 out of the ATM and splurge on some tasty Italian food here. You’ll go home with a belly full of carbs and tomato sauce. Gino’s is like a really good wine you ended up drinking the entire bottle of in one night. It feels good at the time to eat everything on the plate. But you won’t feel too well the next morning. I recommend eating small portions when you go here. The food is cheese, sauce, pasta, cheese, sauce, pasta. cheese, sauce, pasta… if you eat a ton of that in one sitting… you’re bound to get a belly ache. I don’t care though. Gino’s rocks!!!

Food is usually one of the best local pizzerias but stay far away from the buffalo chicken salad! Yeiks the worst salad ever had. Burnt chunks of chicken passed as buffalo — wow

This place is difficult to review. On the one hand, they have the best pizza and food in the local Massapequa area. On the other hand, their service is absolutely terrible and delivery is slow. If it wasn’t for the great food, I probably wouldn’t order from here.

We went in on a Thursday around noon just to grab a few slices. The place is clean and the food is pretty good. The vodka Sicilian slice is to die for while the regular marinara Sicilian was forgettable.

I ordered a large sausage pie this Friday night during the height of the dinner rush our. In the past, Gino’s was reliably good pizza. I arrived in 20 minutes and was happy my pizza was boxed hot and ready. Upon opening the pizza, I immediately noticed the pizza was under cooked by about 2 minutes. Unusual for Gino’s. Upon further inspection, I realized that the bottom of the pizza was black. It became clear that this oven had not been brushed for some time and the bottom of my pizza had charred old flour on it. I was shocked they sold this pizza to me. It was virtually indelible and an embarrassment to the Gino’s name. Needless to say, I will never go back. For $ 19.00 I expected a little more care to detail.

Can’t believe I’ve never reviewed this place! I’ve been eating here for years. Tonight, we decided to grab some food to-go. We called in the order and were told it would be 20 minutes until pick up time. Not too shabby. We ordered the antipasti rustica, which is a bunch of cold appetizers. Eggplant, artichoke hearts, olives, mushrooms, roasted red peppers, zucchini, fresh mozzarella, pepperoni, and soprassata. Came with a side of balsamic and bread. The portion was maaaaassve. We’ll have at least 2 more meals from it. My boyfriend really enjoyed it. For my sister, we ordered the chicken shiitake. It was served in a sherry wine sauce with sundries tomatoes, shiitake mushrooms, and sautéed spinach. This also came with penne that we opted to have in the same sauce. It was really good! Couldn’t help but take some of that spinach for myself because I love it. As for me, I got my usual, chicken contadina. It’s sautéed chunks of chicken, roasted potatoes, sausage, and mushrooms in a rosemary wine sauce. It’s amazinggggg. I get it every time. I also get it with rigatoni in the contadina sauce. I’m obsessed with it. I soaked up the sauce with garlic sticks which is basically garlic focaccia and it’s so good, too. My mom shared with both me and my sister and we were all stuffed. Plus, there are so many leftovers! Prices seem to be on the higher side, but we don’t mind paying for quality and big portions. It’s worth every penny.

I definitely like the Italian entrees better than the pizza here. But, I will give this place 4 stars because the rest of my NY relatives LOVE Gino’s Pizza’s pizzas. Some of them like the regular cheese pizza while others rave about their«Grandma Pizzas». As for myself, I enjoy the chicken parmesan and the eggplant parmesan. The portions are large enough that you can split the dinner entrees into two meals(if you include the dinner rolls and order a side salad).

The Sicilian is the best here — crispy with the right amount of doughiness and the sauce is sweet and tomatoey. Good quality cheese too. The Ginos in Lynbrook is fantastic too.
