South Cape Village Hair and Spa

I am thrilled to have discovered this salon about 8 months ago after trying a couple others on the cape that were subpar. The main differences (in no particular order):
1. No waiting around for unreasonable amounts of time. Other salons I visited would have me sitting for 20 – 45 minutes beyond my appointment time. This salon is very timely.
2. No overbooking. You don’t have to worry about feeling rushed during your appointment because they schedule their clients in correct timeframes so that you’re given the time and attention you need for the services you’ve booked.
3. Communication. The stylists take the time to listen to what you want and what you’re trying to achieve. I always bring photos or read online blogs beforehand so I can better explain what I want, and this has also helped. Regardless, they take pride in their work and only aim to please their clients.
4. Ambiance. The salon has a clean, neat, inviting décor. It’s simple chic, and I feel comfortable there. The stylists are all very down-​to-​earth.
5. Quality. Melony does my highlights and cuts, and I have been happy every time I have left the salon. After years of having blond highlights, I dyed my hair (at a previous salon) very dark brown about a year and a half ago. It didn’t take long to realize that blond better compliments my skin tone and facial features (next time, it will be low lights only!). Melony gradually and safely brought me back to the blond I was seeking without over-​processing my hair. She explained everything so it made sense and gave me tips on how to keep my hair moisturized and protected. I’m now happily blond once more, with a flattering cut, thanks to Melony.

This is such a fun, high energy hair Salon. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Jennifer! She’s professional, listens carefully to what you want and works with you to achieve the best results possible for your individual desires and hair type. It’s rare to find someone as attentive and caring to your hair care needs as Jen. I live in New York part time so I have excellent alternative options but I only go to Jen now for all of my hair care needs. Color, Cut, Styling, the works. I can’t say enough good things about Jen and the Salon. It’s fun and everyone is extremely nice and helpful. I am very picky and have difficult hair. Jen’s got me back on track and doesn’t hesitate to tell me if what I’m thinking might not work with my hair type. I appreciate a professional with ethics and honesty like Jen.
And…so easy to book an appointment with their online booking system. Tried it tonight for the first time. Saved me a ton of time and could do it at my convenience.
I won’t trust my hair needs to any other Salon on Cape and I’ve tried several.

Wax at your own risk. The previous woman who did facials and waxing was wonderful. This new woman Sara could use a few lessons in manners. She left me and my daughter waiting 30 minutes and never apologized or explained the reason for the delay. When I asked what happened, she said «You know how it is. These things happen.» If I took that attitude with my clients, they’d be out the door. Just like I was. Note to owner. Watch your employees.

I was very hopeful of this place cuz it was in Unilocal top 10 and the stylist took the extra steps of getting the products my stylist in SF uses. Sadly, I won’t be going back.
I went to my stylist in SF, 10 weeks after my cut and color here. First, the cut was barely a cut. She spent about 4 minutes trimming the ends. No shaping, no modernizing my look. 10 weeks later, my silky ends were close to dreadlocks. If only she had trimmed it a bit more… Then there’s the color! first, I am not an expert in hair. I sit, I try to relax, pay ($ 120 this time) and expect 10 weeks of low maintenance hair that looks like it was styled today. That isn’t what my $ 120 got me. I had lines, where the blond and dark brown met. Actual straight lines! I wouldn’t have noticed if my SF stylist didn’t ask me as she was combing my hair. My crown was colored as if I parted my hair and hair sprayed it in place. Who does that anymore?
Besides the hair, the place was less than clean. The stylist were gossiping about other people (clients, friends, both?) poor form.
I am happy to pay a boatload of money for the expertise. I’m not so happy to pay for dirty surroundings, not such great color and a not so good hair cut. Enter at your own risk

I had a lovely pedicure and Shellac manicure with Jessica today. Excellent, professional. Attentive and skilled. I am a licensed nail tech myself and she did a great job!

Been referring Scv services since they opened, I have been a very happy client so of course I spread the news. To date I have not been disappointed nor has any of my referrals! If there was something that was quiet not right (us women can be a tad particular at times :)) they will do anything to make sure it is exactly what we want! I just wanted to update my Unilocal stars! The owner Melony who I go to has worked extremely hard to establish her place and build up a reputable business! I am glad there are business like hers around that actually care about the customer!!!

Received an up do, makeup and nails for a wedding. Great quality and service at the right price. Look forward to a cut and color next time I’m do!

I love this place! The owner Melony cuts and dyes my hair, my mother’s and cuts my husband’s hair! She always does an amazing job at a very reasonable price! I also have Jess do my nails and she does a fabulous job on my shellac manicures. I brought my neices in for a mani pedi and Jess was a sweet to them they had a blast! Kerri did my wedding makeup, and I was so happy with it! Melony also did our hair for the wedding and jess did our nails! I couldn’t have been happier with the outcomes!

I’ve been going to Melanie for the past 7 years during the spring and summer months as I spend the winters in Florida. She is the best! The salon is very friendly and welcoming of new clients. I love the location in South Cape Village as there is such a nice variety of shops. I highly recommend the salon.

I went to this place for a bridal hair trial because of it’s great reviews. I was not happy with the service or stylists. Thankfully I did The stylist barely looked at the pictures I brought in, didn’t get an idea of what I was looking for, sort of did one of the styles I showed her then did 2 canned very traditional bridal hairstyles. This would be fine… if I was having a traditional wedding. Not impressed.

Amanda was fantastic! She gave my daughter an awesome back to school cut. My daughter is going into middle school and wanted something new and stylish. She was so happy with her new look!

I had such wonderful experience here. They fit me in the day I called and were very welcoming. My hair stylist Nicole did a phenomenal job, she gave me EXACTLY what I wanted. She was not satisfied until she had my hair just right. I will be going back every time I am in the area.

I came here to complete a friend’s makeover, and I couldn’t be happier. Excellent service — Melanie set us up with a same-​day appointment, and paid special attention to make sure my friend got exactly the style she wanted. Loved the result, and the great price made it even better. If you’re looking for a salon, move this one to the top of your list!

Terrific experience with Amanda! I wanted a whole new look and completely decided to put my head in her hands. Love what she did… cool highlights, fun new cut, and a really nice person. Clean and contemporary salon too!

I am so happy that after living over a year down here I found a competent hair stylist and colorist. I saw Melanie … she’s fabulous and I can’t wait to go back and see her again! She was able to accommodate my appointment on short notice, was pleasant to talk to and made a great recommendation on my hair color. She will be the only one to touch my locks down here.

I was in town for a wedding and decided I needed an emergency trim beforehand. The ladies here were all very pleasant and friendly, my hairdresser listened to what I asked for and didn’t cut too much off, and the price was very reasonable. Great experience!

I love this place! I feel like I’m at home every time I go in because not only is my hairdresser amazing but all the other employees talk to me like I’m a client of theirs. I have been going to Amanda for a year now and she is the best! Im in the restaurant business so I deal with a large amount of people a day amd get aaked daily who does my hair. I highly recommend Amanda!

Carrie at South CApe Village is one of the best colorists there is. Not only is she skilled at her craft, but the nicest person too! She is able to tame my thick, mostly gray very curly hair. The whole staff makes you feel at home every time you go there!
This place is a gem — defintely worth the trip!

Kim did a great job cutting my 4 yr old daughter’s hair today. She took the time to make sure she did a good job.
