Last week we had dinner at Siena to celebrate my wife’s birthday. This was the first time we dined at this restaurant and after our experience, we encourage others to give it a try. This restaurant located in the Mashpee Commons has an incredible dining area inside but also has outdoor seating when the weather permits. The staff here is incredibly polite and attentive. The bartender Stephanie is amazing and makes some of the best drinks in town. When it comes to the food, no complaints here! We ordered calamari, the Tuscan salad as well as a meat lovers pizza. Each one of our items was perfectly prepared and the asked us if we wanted to space out the courses which I thought was thoughtful. In the end, we loved our experience with Siena and we look forward to the next time we dine here.

I have never been a big fan of this restaurant but I figured I would give it one more try when a friend suggested it for a special gathering with friends we see only a few times a year. We decided to meet there for dessert and coffees at 7:30 pm. Some in our party ordered appetizers, some ordered drinks, others ordered specialty coffees priced at $ 7-$ 10 and one even ordered a meal. Apparently this is frowned upon by the server who proceeded to give us attitude the remainder of the evening, as well as complain to any other server who would listen.(Unfortunately my line of vision was straight on the server’s station). Needless to say this put a huge damper on the evening. We waited far too long for food that was mediocre at best. Desserts that should have been served warm were cold, which was highlighted by the fact that we were seated next to the door which repeatedly blasted us with frigid 10 degree air. All around negative experience. So disappointed. Will never go back.

Visited Sienna last night for the first time for a special evening and what a disappointment. We had high hopes after receiving yummy mocktails and good bread with an olive oil and parm cheese concoction but that’s when the fun ended. We started with two apps, the roasted artichoke hearts and aioli, that was probably the best thing we tried off the menu. The three artichokes were nice and good size but the aioli was very thick, heavy and fatty tasting. We also tried the open faced stuffed pepper with roasted red pepper sauce. This was something I could have made a much better version of at home. The pepper and filling was missing something… like seasoning perhaps and was mostly filled with a majority of rice, not much meat, the sauce which was scarce didn’t have any flavor. For entrees we tried the roasted osso bucco which came with risotto and my partner had the veal stew. The roasted veal dish again was missing something big. The brown gravy didn’t taste homemade and didn’t pair well with the meat which was good as was the broccolini. As for the risotto, neither of us could distinguish the unnatural flavor, when asked the waitress she asked if I liked it I said not at all, she said it was saffron risotto, whatever it was it was inedible and the huge portion of starch stayed on the plate. My partners stew was also missing something big. Instead of being thick and flavorful as described on the menu, it tasted like as oily greasy veal and veggie soup in a thin tomato broth, not very good. For a place with entrees almost $ 30 a piece we expected dished not only to look good but to taste right from someone experienced and trained in a kitchen. It was one of those… «Oh damn now we have to pay the bill for food that wasn’t even good.» Nights. Don’t waste your money at Sienna. Total disappointment. We will not be back.

I was very disappointed with Siena, it was the first restaurant I tried in Mashpee Commons and definitely the worst. Some positive things I will say about the restaurant are that the inside is nice and our waitress was attentive, but other than that I was not impressed. I ordered chicken, mashed potatoes and asparagus, the mashed potatoes were runny and the asparagus was extremely undercooked. My boyfriend ordered the chicken marsala and the pasta was still very hard. This is the place to go if you are looking for undercooked food with a high price tag. If you are going here, I would suggest ordering drinks and skipping the meal.

Chicken Saltimbocca sandwich was over cooked. Only sides offered are French fries, home-made chips or greens(just greens, no tomatoes onions, etc.). Wife didn’t like her fish sandwich either.

Enjoyed the food but the service(namely the hostess) was a bit of a challenge. Last time we were there we waited almost an hour to be seated, we finally left for another restaurant(and there were empty tables just apparently no willing wait staff to serve us). Prior to the last time we felt the food was good and the wine was tasty. We’ll go back again… but if we have the same experience as this last time, it will be our last.

I live in Mashpee and have eaten at Siena many times, most of the time my food is delicious. The last time I went it was horrible. Service was good. Husband got the spaghetti and meatballs. Meatballs were dry and crusty. I ordered the roast chicken special. No seasoning on the chicken so it was bland, the chicken was cooked okay but the skin was colorless and fatty when it should have been crispy, sides were cold. I find a lot of restaurants on The Cape are hit or miss. It would be nice to find a consistently good place.

Sienna has delicious bread and oil and I always get their chicken and fig panini. Good place to go for lunch with a nice outside patio in the summer.

Fantastic food and service. The raspberry lemon drop drink was amazing. Megan was our server, she was efficient and friendly. I had the chicken parmesan and person I was with had the clam cakes both were scrumptious. Highly recommend

This is our 3rd time eating lunch here this summer. Each time the wait has been ridiculously long. Today has been the worst. We waited 55 minutes to get served. Then our appetizers never came. The last straw was that one entrée — a small lunch pizza — arrived cold and the waitress said she would have it remade. Give me a break, we don’t have another 45 minutes. So my husband my husband just asked for another iced tea which also took a long time. If I were the waitress I would have been all over the kitchen, apologize profusely and offer to remove things from the bill and also get management out here. Oh, here ‘s the manager. Full of excuses apologizing for the confusion! Confusion about what? She took the food we didn’t get and kids meals off the menu. Unacceptable. Too bad for them, they have lost a customer.

This place wasn’t terrible; I’d actually give it 3 stars but I deduct one due to it being terribly overpriced. Perhaps it’s the Cape Cod tax for their prices, but a 100% markup on wine is insane. I didn’t have their pizza. It looks like it could be good. However I had the cioppino and it was in no way shape or form worth what I paid. Overall, a big meh, and a 100% «never going there again.»

I’ve been going to Siena for years. It’s one of my favorite restaurants on the Cape. Their patio in the summer is great! Wonderful atmosphere and tons of flowers! Staff is very friendly and courteous

I celebrated my birthday with dinner at Siena and it was great. The mussels we had for an appetizer were the biggest mussels I’ve ever seen, while my ribeye was made perfectly along with some nice crunchy asparagus. The service was amazing and we were never left wanting or needing anything. When the waitress found out it was my bday, she brought me a surprise sorbet with a candle. In conclusion, we had a truly great dining experience!

This place has gone downhill fast. On a not very busy day, waited 20min for a drink order, 45 for a Caesar and then later told that there weren’t any veges to make our main dish! Avoid – go to Trevi.

I had the Caesar Chicken Wrap — no croutons were in it(as the menu says) but what was worse was that the chicken was«choke on it bone dry.» If it wasn’t take-out I would have returned it, it was THAT bad. Also, there was no dressing in the wrap and way too much shave Parmesan cheese(that added to the dryness). I literally gagged on the dryness… and that’s too bad as I’ve had this many times in the past but the last two have been terrible. Not sure what they’re using for chicken but I can get crap like this at Subway. It used to be very good — maybe they have new kitchen staff. I’ll try something else next time, the meatball panini was good the last time I had it, I’ll go back to that.

Just ordered the Caprese Salad to go. For $ 12.00 you get 4 thin slices of tomatoes and 4 slices of mozzarella. No greens, No Basil. Very Sad. Nothing like there picture on there web site.

It’s pretty lame that they can’t prepare a pizza for takeout on a weekend night. The food is fair not great. The management needs an overhaul.

Siena is a very solid dining experience that, unfortunately, tends to be rather hit or miss. It is certainly a staple in my family’s eating out dinner rotations, but I could be a little bit more excited each time it’s Siena’s turn to have a go. The restaurant itself is gorgeous. A nice, fancy dining room with great huge pictures of people feasting in the streets of Siena, Italy. It’s a great atmosphere and I’m a huge fan. The Pizza is okay, the pasta is okay, the salads are okay, the steak is okay. This is a very okay restaurant, parading as a very good restaurant. Because of my perception of the quality of the food, I find the menu to be overpriced. Some things can get up to $ 30. Service is always excellent, food is meh. I’m not sure I would reccomend another person to go there. It might be fun for drinks or something. Unfortunately, givign dining in Mashpee commons, Siena is your best bet unless you go for Asia.

For some reason, no matter what I’m in the mood for when I walk in, when I’m led to our table and see a pizza on a nearby table, I always consider ordering one. The smell follows you, and they always look like they’ve been made with the freshest ingredients. Have I mentioned the smell? During my last visit, I ordered the kale, sausage and farfalle and substituted the cream sauce for the marinara. Others at the table ordered chicken and eggplant parm, and chicken, penne, and pepperoncini. Everything arrived perfect and delicious. Siena never fails to disappoint. It is consistently good on all levels –service, portions, price, food, bar, décor. Next time I’m getting a pizza.
