If I ever say anything that means the most is this. Get the old chef back. This place has gone downhill so badly it’s not even funny. We have frequented this place for many many years and the food was a 10+. Exquisite. Fine dining. They got a new manager and they got a new chef they got a new hostess and they got a new menu. The food is so generic I can’t even begin to describe the comparison of what it was years ago. Do not waste your time at this restaurant if you want to good meal. If you want middle food with a spectacular view then come here. But if you compared to what it was to what it is today they are in need of getting back the old chef. So done with this place. Bad move to get rid of old chef. He made this restaurant.

The most overpriced priced meal of my life for the quality. Tried most of the dishes including lobster, duck, short ribs, salmon, foie gras terrine and escargot. They were good/fair but probably not worth half the amount they charge.

BEST restaurant in foxwoods! I can honestly say that this is the only restaurant that I’ve ever been to that I can go in and have Chef Scott prepare me anything and I know it will be out of this world amazing! Everyone at Paragon are truly genuine and make the experience the best. The atmosphere, views, and the décor is just icing on the cake when it comes to this restaurant. MYFAVORITE!

One of the best steaks I’ve ever had, and my wife had an excellent salmon. The waitstaff is superb.

I visited the Paragon at Foxwoods earlier this month. I had the salmon special and my friend had the pork chop. The food and ambiance was amazing! We sat at a table where we could see the skyline; beautiful! They provided amazing service! Chris, our server was very attentive and the manager and pianist personally checked on us during the meal. Thank you Chris, Fanny, and Piano man for the amazing service!

After multiple excellent experiences, I am sorry to say I will not be back anytime soon. Last nights dinner was a disappointment starting with the somewhat off smelling and tasting butter moving on to a hot entrée whose protein component was cold. Two of the meals were so poorly seasoned the manager removed them from the bill. The abbreviated wait staff flat out inattentive. Not appropriate for the price point.

We’ve been here often and recommended it to many. Last night was a terribly disappointing experience. Bad service, food cold and very salty, waiter never followed through. Manager comped some of the meals and that helps but you can’t take back a bad evening…

Not worth a third of the price. Meals were bland, over cooked and this place still serves foie gras. I thought any restaurant with any type of conscious had gotten rid of that horrid dish. We will never go back and we will sure pass the word.

Wow, our meal was fabulous! We started with martinis, pâté, and dumplings in a broth. The dumplings were outstanding; the broth was even tastier than the yummy dumplings. My husband’s steak was cooked perfectly, and my fish dish was covered in a delicious panko crumb crab stuffing. The freshness of the fish made the dish even more enjoyable. Our vegetable was asparagus with smoked salmon. My husband ordered the asparagus and I’m not sure I would have ordered it, but it was so good! I asked about the smoked salmon and was told Chef Scott smoked the fish. I had been told the restaurant prides itself on using local ingredients and I could appreciate the freshness and quality of everything from the butter and rolls to the cheese on our truffle fries. Julie was our waitress and was efficient and personable. Rob, the manager, made sure to stop by several times to make sure we were happy with our meal. We made sure he knew we were extremely pleased with our meal, appreciated the chef and would be back very soon.

Had the small plates at the bar! Food was amazing and the Martinis were perfect. Steve the bar man is first class and the live piano rounded out a great setting. Characters at the bar! Very enjoyable night. Views must be amazing in the summer.

Oh man, really? This is Manhattan prices for bachelor-with-a-skillet results. The first sign something was up was how easy it was to get a reservation. Everywhere else seemed booked solid. But the supposed destination restaurant had plenty of room. The menu had interesting things. Grass fed beef? Sure. Truffles in various things? Nice. The wine list was much less interesting. When the whole country of France contributes a total of 4 bottles to the list of your French restaurant, two of them priced in the thousands and two of them hailing from the budget bins, you have made a mistake. But, hey, they’re not vinting the wine. How was the food? The food ranged from mediocre to terrible. The cod sounded so nice when the waiter described it. But it was dry and awful when it came out. So dry and awful that the person who ordered it had to send it back. The scallops were tough and overcooked and on a decidedly bland pile of mashed potatoes. The steaks were fine. The thing is, it’s hard to mess up a $ 50 piece of meat. Oh, they were luke warm and clearly cooked well before they came out, so maybe they were messed up a little bit. So to sum up we won’t be back. If they send us free gift certificates to eat there while pouring 1982 Petrus we would still probably head elsewhere.

Gluten-free aware and concerned. What a great experience! Sat at the bar and boy were we glad. Stephen and Carl were terrific bartender/hosts. Stephen was so knowledgeable and endearing. Once he knew we were foodies, we we off to the races. Bacon lollipops and truffled fries were the stars. His thoughtful questions lead to excellent suggestions. Elegant décor and a wonderful piano player added to the experience.

Came here to celebrate my fiancés 31st bday. Spoke with the manager Fanny to have a couple arrangements ready for me for when he and I arrived. Everything I asked for was met when we arrived. The staff was wonderful, the piano guy was great and the food was delicious. We had a great time and the money was well spent

Absolute worst experience ever. Overly priced meals. Smallest portions I have ever seen. I don’t mind getting an expensive meal like at David Burke but make it worth what we are spending. Food was bland(all three bites). Don’t spend your money here. Wish I had read these reviews. Oh and they need a lesson on how to make lobster bisque especially being in new England

Went to this place after a Spa day at G– Spa, it was a Sunday evening and the place was dead. Maybe 4 other tables. Service was great, had a friendly waiter. Food was good, they offer small plates, 3 for $ 40. Portions were decent size. Started with the lobster bisque, was really good with 2 huge pieces of lobster! I got the filet, it was cooked good and seasoned well. Not even close to the best steak I ever had, but it was good. I would return, however, with the amount of restaurants in Foxwood’s, I would explore other ones first.

This place is completely underwhelming — there’s way better dining options than here. I was anticipating something that was completely different than this and I’m not usually so «off» with my expectations. While the entrance to the restaurant is beautiful with the circular staircase and lovely bar area, that’s where it goes from good to this-was-a-former-function-room. The room was set up with so much space between the tables that it looked like they were trying to fill up space in too big of a room, and clearly it was, since it didn’t get that full on a Saturday evening. The noise level, on the other hand, matched that of a packed house as diners tried to speak above the level of the pianist. It’s a nice idea to have one, but not well-executed as the music was too loud to make it seem classy. The menu itself is pretty limited. .. and I was surprised to see the Asian influence throughout the menu for a place that is listed as American/French. The amuse bouche from the chef was a dumpling, and there were many other items that looked like they could have been on the menu at Shrine as easily as they would be in this restaurant. We ordered a couple of the boar small plates to give them a try, and they were good but nothing I’d order again. We did salads afterwards — my tomato salad was the best thing I had if that gives you an idea where this review is headed. Nice sweet heirloom tomatoes with a little cheese to make it yummy. From there we ordered Dover Sole. It’s de-boned tableside and was a complete mess to watch. Our server and her helper pulled off 1-inch pieces of fish away from the bones and piled them up on our plates. .. it looked more like pulled pork than a delicate fish, which was pretty unappetizing. Then they dumped what appeared to be sauce with at least a half a cup of capers in it(per plate) onto the pile of fish, which did nothing but make beautiful fish taste like pickles. I’m all about pickles but come on now. The staff is well-intentioned but under-trained. Our glasses of white wine were brought to the table warm and getting replacements took more than 10 minutes because the bar was«backed up» in a restaurant that wasn’t even half full. Our server didn’t know the specials and was struggling to pronounce some of the words. .. including«broccoli rabe» which I’d think is pretty commonplace in restaurants. Upon opening our bottle of white we were having with dinner, our server proceeded to pour nearly full glasses for 2 people before I noticed that she was doing it instead of a reasonable pour to make the bottle last a bit longer. .. and she wasn’t even trying to get us to buy another bottle — she just didn’t know better. We won’t be returning to this restaurant because overall it was pretty unimpressive, from both the food to the service. Also — I was surprised at how many people planned engagement dinners here. Maybe the upstairs is romantic and a great place to pop the question, but the main dining room definitely does not have the romantic, cozy feeling that I was expecting after reading the reviews here. Just a heads up for any lovebirds ;)

Went there for my wife’s birthday dinner. We sat by the window. A must as any further away and you lose the grandness of the view. We ordered off the small«Tasting» menu. The highlights were the fois gras(a special) which was delicious as was the duck sandwiches. My wife saw Delmonico potatoes and needed to have them. They arrived in a small cast iron pan. They did arrive hot, but the crust on top was very dry and the potatoes were also a bit on the dry side. My wife thought this was a function of the cast iron pan. These were OK, not great and would not order them again. We also ordered the MAC. The menu does state that rigatoni pasta is used. Again the little cast iron serving dishes are attractive, the top layer of rigatoni was too dry as the cheese was not oozing around the dish. The bottom rigatonis were better, though not quite a cheesy as hoped for, again would not reorder. The service was wonderful and helpful. Very attentive, so I have nothing but praise for the wait staff. I did see a manager walk around and speak with many tables, but did not come to us at all. We could have called her over, but we let it alone.

This was our first Triple-A diamond-rated diamond experience, and we had pretty high expectations. They weren’t really met. Not to say anything tasted BAD, just that I want to leave feeling like its the best thing I’ve ever eaten at that price point. The ambiance was lovely, the service was exceptional. It just wasn’t enough to make up for the food. I ordered the Five-Spice Duck Soup which was… very subtle. The biggest problem I had with the soup is the vegetables were not cut into small enough pieces to fit in a soup spoon. Boyfriend ordered the roasted onion soup; it tastes like cheese and tomatoes, which we thought was a bit strange. Its tasty… just not what you ordered. For the main course, I ordered the special; buffalo short ribs with roasted parsnips and barley. The barley was by far the best part of the dish with a rich and flavorful sauce. The shortribs themselves were heavily under seasoned. I was embarrassed to consider asking for salt. Boyfriend had the rib eye. Now, we both appreciate that searing a steak seals in the juice and flavor, but this left a burnt flavor that was in competition with the fancy cut of Wagyu beef. Add to a VERY lackluster beer list(yes, I know. Fancy people only drink wine or something) and we left pretty disappointed for our $ 200 check. Skipped dessert in favor of a nice raspberry lambic we’d left chilling in our minifridge.

The epitome of underwhelming. My experience at Paragon had such promise. It seemed like the perfect place for a party of 12 girls before a big night out. We arrived a few minutes early for our reservation. The hostess coldly informed us that they were billing our table and it would be just a few minutes. Then she asked us to wait in the hallway because as she said, it was«just so crowded.» The waiting area was literally empty. Translation of what the hostess said: get out of my face. We sat down and the décor made Paragon seem like a fancy restaurant. The menu had a million choices. While we waited, they brought us bread and butter. However, the bread was stale and the butter was frozen. Not a good start. I was famished and didn’t even finish the bread. Many of us opted for the three small plates for $ 35. I chose the Salmon, the Tuna Sashimi, and the Soft Shell Crab. We started with the Calamari appetizer. It was terrible! It tasted like… fish. Way too fishy. It made me worry that I had already ordered three kinds of shellfish. If the calamari tastes like salmonella, what would the rest taste like? They literally served our meals one at a time. It was the most awkward thing. The waiter walked all the way to the kitchen, picked up one plate, and walked it back. 12 times. Well, technically 11 because they forgot to make one girl’s meal. She picked at everyone’s plate and they brought her an appetizer instead. She was naturally very upset. They forgot one of my small plates, but after being reminded twice they brought it out. Now, I could look past forgetting a few meals if the food had actually been good, but it wasn’t. Every person’s dish was covered with this terrible sauce, some kind of curry tomato sauce. Tuna sashimi, usually so delicious on its own, was covered in sauce plus these hard green things that I initially thought might be wasabi peas, but they were so hard I was afraid I would break a tooth. Those plus the sauce didn’t mask how bad the tuna tasted. I love love love raw tuna but this was terrible quality. Including tip and wine, the meal came out to $ 72 per person. For that kind of money, I should be giving Paragon 5 stars. I should be praising the food, because it SHOULD have matched price with quality. I will never go back. It was overpriced, low quality, and the very opposite of gourmet.
