Tokyo Teriyaki & Wok

My husband picked up an order to go here a few weeks ago. We moved and this place is the closet teriyaki place by us. Teriyaki is usually a cheap and quick meal. Needless to say this place is WAY over priced and the portions are so tiny! For the price we paid it was so not worth it. I guess I’ll have to drive further to eat at Tokyo stop 2 because the prices are amazing, portions are HUGE and the food is so good. I don’t recommend this place at all…

Generic teriyaki restaurants are so ubiquitous and starting to wear thin on me. It’s not that I have anything against teriyaki; it’s just that restaurants that specialize in it also seldom do a good job of it. But I was starving and needed food, so that’s where this place came in.
I do wish they had given me more food. They have a nice picture menu showing the dishes to be huge. Since I wanted a huge dish, I was willing to pay two dollars more for the larger size. I thought the extra payment would bring me more food.
What they actually brought me was a dish noticeably smaller than the one shown on the menu, which is basically lying or false advertising. If this is the larger size for two more dollars, then I’d hate to see what the regular size looks like. Nevertheless, the menu did imply that I would be getting at least what’s shown on the picture with a large size.
You know, maybe they just messed up and gave me a smaller one by mistake. But that doesn’t change the fact that I paid unnecessarily more for food that was just barely passable. It wasn’t even all that much, and the lady behind the counter proceeded to ignore me for the duration of my stay. Just go to Tres Hermanos instead; it’s nearby and a much better restaurant than this one.

The food wasn’t too bad nor is it priced too high BUT they don’t have sriracha. That was the deal breaker for me. The sauce tastes like one you would buy out of a store. Wasn’t much of a fan of that either. There’s so many other good ones in the area that I definitely don’t see myself trying this place out again.
