Contracted to build an almost $ 220,000 home at The Links in Marysville. The build was going fine until I was unable to obtain financing and asked them to refund my $ 3250 deposit. They agreed to apply the deposit to a new build in a currently undeveloped plat. That would mean we would have to move a 3000 square foot home into something smaller, store our belongings, and then move again in approximately 15 — 18 months. Ain’t gonna happen. We’ve found another property that we can make work, with some additional improvements, and that we can take possession of before the start of school. I’ve been told that they plan on listing the house for $ 30,000 more than our contract price.(With some marketing costs) MOSTLYALLPUREPROFITFORTHEM! We have become friends with both of the couples who were supposed to be our next door neighbors. One has filed legal action previously, and I’ve been told is planning to file again concerning a utility easement. This is to correct a Maronda mistake from about 9 years ago, before the current onsite staff was there. The other neighbor is currently building: I hope they don’t run into any snags. Maronda reps– Vickie S. and Vickie D.– are both excellent. Very professional and knowledgeable. Building Superintendent Dean was awesome and really knows how to take are of customers.
