Very friendly service. Delicious wines here. Love the ports although they’re a bit pricey.

So, how are you going to walk into winery that claims to be open until 6pm at 5:25pm and they say, «Sorry, we can sell wine, but no more wine tasting.» How do we know what we want to buy if we don’t taste it? Disappointed.

My husband and I were driving on 252 and spotted the sign for Cedar Creek, we had an hour to kill, so we decided to stop. We walked into the winery to be warmly greeted and invited to start a wine tasting. I our guide was very knowledgable and friendly. We enjoyed all the wine we tried. She then showed us where to go to sample their beer. We each ordered a flight and enjoyed each beer that we sampled. Some of our favorites of the day were the Pom-Pouri and Black Tie wines & the blond and ipa brews. I would highly recommend this place and we are excited to return!

We had a complimentary wine tasting followed by a complimentary beer tasting! Very friendly and knowledgable pourer. The beer was brewed to perfection and the wine was worth purchasing a bottle! After completing the Indy wine trail, I can safely say this one was my favorite :) we will come back again! Thank you for the awesome experience!

My husband and I stopped by this place on our way to Brown County and we were so glad we did! We wanted to do a wine tasting and were able to try 6 different wines for only $ 5. I thought that was very reasonable considering you could try any of the wines they offer no matter what the price as long as they had it in stock. I tried 6 and my husband tried a different 6 and we liked most of them. We ended up buying a bottle of the Black Tie Merlot for only $ 13 and were very happy with it. The owner’s son was very friendly and recommended a place to try out in Brown County. Overall I would say it was worth the pit stop!

I am torn between 3 and 4 stars — but, it’s a cute place and the music was good, so I’ll round up to 4. My husband and I met his parents at Cedar Creek. They did the tasting, which is $ 5 for 6 wines. That business model irks me, as I think the tasting should be built into the price of the wine. I cannot think of wine time that I went to a winery with free tasting where I didn’t buy at least one bottle. They liked what they tasted, but they tend to like sweeter wines. The guy at the counter let us sample a wine we thought we might be interested in since we were going for a glass. I had the Palamino, which was crisp and refreshing, although it would have been more refreshing had it been more chilled. In their defense, there was a pretty big crowd there that day, so that is understandable. I believe the wine was $ 4/glass. Nice outdoor patio and seating area where we could listen to the band(crowd pleasing covers) without it being too loud. There was also an outdoor shelter where people were packed in to listen to the music. Apparently they have some of the permits and zoning variances they need to start brewing beer but not all. Given that Martinsville is about 40 minutes from where we live, I wouldn’t make this a destination. It would be a nice stop, though, on a tour including Mallow Run and Oliver(with a DD, of course!).

This winery is a real treat in the hinterlands. The staff is knowledgeable about all the wines they produce and very friendly. I do take issue with having to pay for samples(personal pet peeve) here. For a small winery, they produce a good number of wines. I appreciate that, despite the Hoosier palate, they have almost as many dry wines as sweet.

Very cool little tasting room. This is really out there, but bonus — there’s a Rural King just a few minutes away. I’m always a sucker for a tasting room with dogs, but if you have a fear of them or allergies, be warned — I think they are a staple fixture(and super adorable!). Like my husband, it irks me to have to pay for samples to figure out what wines to buy. I understand there are some jerks that would just taste and go, but they could at least refund the tasting charge($ 5 for 6 very small samples) if you purchase anything. They have some very interesting wines. They have some dry wines, but they also use traditionally dry grapes like Chardonnay and Merlot to make their sweet wines. The Pom-Pourri(a sweet red Zinfandel) is a fantastic summer wine and their top seller. They have a cute covered picnic area that I think has live music. There’s a great breeze running through it. It was wonderful to buy a glass and sit outside sipping. I didn’t purchase one, but the have fruit/cheese plates for munching. I owe my dad an apology, too. He kept saying how he bets they sell a bunch of beer and wine in the summer. I kept correcting him saying they only sell wine. But per their website, they have a brewery coming soon! So I guess eventually, they will sell wine AND beer!

This was a beautiful property! When we arrived on a Sunday afternoon we had a chance to chat with a couple of members of the family that owns the winery. They were welcoming, willing to deal with our(already a little wine drunk) group, and very knowledgeable about the product. I really liked the Port! They said that they have had some weddings on the property and I can only imagine that they were amazing. They built all of the unique buildings at the winery — and they are all beautiful! I also really liked getting to hang out with some goats.

They have goats! Need I say more? The most adorable little crew of Boer goats ya ever did see can be found at Cedar Creek Winery in Martinsville. The fun doesn’t stop there — I want this family to build my future house — the adorable barns and buildings found on the property were all built by their family business. Take a minute or two to soak it all in. Quite possibly the cutest barn I’ve ever seen. Okay, so you’re probably here to hear about the wine: *$ 5 for 6 tastings(or one free tasting if you prefer to take this route) *Delicious and super-sweet port wines that definitely have the tootsie roll flavor that the owners mentioned *section of whoopsie bottles in which there are label mistakes(discounted 10−15%) *mood setting: there’s something about the family boxer and cozy fireplace that did it for me *they also have a location in Nashville, IN

Truly a charming little gem on our way down to Southern Indiana. Mrs. F and I had a fantastic time, the décor is fun and the gift shop very Midwestern winery, you know the top the cutsie wine bottles with lights, artsy cheese trays and decorative bottle toppers. The wine was decent. They currently importing their fruit but look to be crushing their own in the coming years. The vines they have planted know have been in for the last three for four years and I believe the gentleman told me that next year would be there first harvest. The wines are distinctive to the Indiana region and show well. They tend to do be on the sweeter side of things for me but that is the norm for Indiana wine. Definitely try the Rhapsody Merlot and the Sauvignon Blanc. Those were probably my favorites. The service was friendly and we got to meet their boxer who has a bed behind the tasting bar :)

Cedar Creek is a great up-and-coming new Indy winery! While they’re the youngest on the Indy trail, they have a venerable line up. The setting is amazing, among budding new vineyards, fields, and rural Indiana. Cedar Creek has built a winery that fits the scene perfectly. Many of their wines are blends. For example, I fell in love with their Rhapsody Merlot, just to discover they mix it with a bit of Concorde. Brilliant. Their Catawba rose is amazing as well. They even have a few delicious fruit wines. The staff is always friendly and the tasting cost is nominal. They have a pavilion outside and often have live music on weekends.

$ 5 for 6 tastes. Friendly do it all staff. The owner’s son had to stop mowing the grass to do our tasting. It is a smaller winery and they didn’t have any estate wines available when we were there. But they do have wine slushy!
