Picked up take out from here. The lady who answered the phone was pleasant enough and very patient with me. Our order wasn’t really hot so we had to pop it in the oven and few minutes but other than that it was pretty good. Well seasoned and ample portions. Probably won’t get take out again but will definitely dine in.

First let me say I have been a fan of Azteca Maya since the opening of the location in front of Ivy Falls Sub-​division. Jesus the owner is friendly and fantastic. The food is outstanding and I suggest trying something on the menu that the other local Mexican restaurants don’t have. I enjoy the Chicken Taco Loco, and the Chipotle Chicken they are addictive. Two of the Jumbo Texas Margaritas is all it takes to make any day better. In addition the salsa is spicier than most and the guacamole casera is filled with lime and deliciousness. Give it a shot and I believe like is you will become a regular.

This place was terrible. My husband is Hispanic and we are from Texas which has the best Mexican food there is. Neither one of us finished our plate. The «hot sauce» tasted like canned tomatoes, the rice was terrible, and the tortillas taste like they were from the grocery store. Homemade tortillas are so easy to make (I know, I do it on a regular basis) that there is no excuse for not having fresh tortillas. Isn’t it a shame when you can’t take a break from cooking because there isn’t anywhere good to eat here in Augusta? The only places that are half way decent here are the places that are $ 30/​plate and I am not paying that on a weekly basis just to have a decent meal. We won’t be back.

Their regular salsa with the chips is little more than canned tomato sauce. My standard question at any Mexican restaurant is «do you have a hot version?». They did, but it was fairly tasteless, just hot. Then when the bill came, there was an extra $ 1 charge. When asked, I was told it was for the hot sauce. Really?! Enjoy that dollar, I won’t be back.
