We are staying in the area and this is a great place to dine in! As a couple we had excellent service and the food is AMAZING! The portions are well in size and you DEFINITELY get what you paid for! Excellent Service! Recommend to everyone!

Again… Oh!!! My. Gawd. This is the best place ever. What a find! It is a little jewel tucked away in a shopping center near the 24hr super Walmart. I want to try everything on the menu. The owners are very nice and you get a sense that they enjoy messing people up with this good food that makes you wanna ‘slap yo momma’(no offense mom.) One of my new goto lunch and dinner places from now on.

How many ways can I profess my adoring love for Phở 88? After relocating to the Martinez area, I felt like I was doomed to never find a staple Vietnamese restaurant. Let’s be honest, the 925 sucks for food options, especially when it comes to ethnic food. Some of the worst food I’ve ever had has been in the Concord/Martinez/Pleasant Hill area(don’t get me started on Los Ponchos). But, I digress. Phở 88 reminds me of the Vietnamese version of Cheers– where everyone knows your name. They make it a point to get to know their customers and are so hospitable, kind, and efficient. I find it shocking that people would infer the service is sub-standard. The food is amazing. I’ve never eaten anything that I havent liked. Try it out, you won’t be disappointed.

Super cheap and you get what you pay for. I wanna like it because it’s a kind of charming family business, but the food is bland and ordinary. They follow a quantity over quality business model. For 10 bucks you will basically get a gallon of soup. If you are at cue and brew and looking for something quick, this is your jam.

Love their deep fried tofu. I usually just get the wonton noodle soup. The green beans are tasty. Very basic food with good portions.

We love Noodle 88! It’s our go to for takeout Asian food! Prices are great and the portions are huge! We love the egg plant tofu dish. Get that every time! So tasty and good over steamed white rice. We also usually get the Pad Thai noodles … Yummy!!! Again always a huge portion! We also love the won ton soup, hot and sour soup. Tried the pong pong last time… And as the Unilocal reviewers were right!!! Very very good! A Couple of things I didn’t care for was the phở, but maybe I should try again. I’m thinking phở is better eaten in the restaurant instead of Togo? Also tried the Thai fried rice, lacked flavor to me… But my kids on the other hand love it! I guess I’m really not a fried rice fan in general! The people there are always super nice. I give them 5 stars!

Decent food. I think they don’t season the food too heavily in order to show off how fresh the ingredients are. So it is tasty, it’s just not going to bring you a higher plane of culinary ecstasy. The prices are reasonable and the portions are decent. They are one of the few nearby places that have deep fried tofu; this is really what keeps bringing us back.

Poor service! I went here to order Phở and fresh shrimp roll to go, the cashier said 15mins. That was at 12:10. 12:35 I approached the cashier since its been 25mins, he said wait. 12:30 he went to check and said they got the shrimp roll wrong and have to wait more. I ended up leaving at 12:55. Ridiculous! And they don’t even offer any apologies.

Stopped in yesterday to see if they could do a vegan phở. They could! I got a delicious phở to go. The broth was hot water and green onions, the veggies were fresh and tasty and the tofu was fried just right. I chose rice noodles, which were quite filling. I did add a bit of Bragg’s aminos at home for a dash more flavor, but people add sauces all the time, so I don’t think that’s a flaw. I appreciate their willingness to make something off menu to please a customer with a special diet. The fried tofu app was amazing too. Definitely going back.

This place is SO good! I’ve only gotten the food to go but both times I was impressed. I no longer have to travel to walnut creek or concord for phở. Also, their chicken fried rice is amazing. It’s highly addictive and I could probably eat the entire to go box of it if I didn’t have some sort of self control. The staff has been friendly and their menu is very large so you have a lot to choose from!

My family and I sometimes drive 20 minutes from home to eat here. They have so many choices both Chinese and Vietnamese. My Dad says it’s the best Mongolian beef he’s ever had and trust me, his belly shows that he’s made lots of taste tests in his life. The prices are typical of a Chinese or Vietnamese restaurant. Some of the Vietnamese food I order is so tasty that it makes my mouth drool just thinking about it. People here are really nice too.

Saw a FB friend come here for lunch and decided to give it a try. I hardly venture out to Martinez and was surprised to see the little strip mall area between Walmart and Home Depot has food places. Next door is Yo Sushi(which i have yet to try), a BBQ place, and hair cut place. Forgot the other names of the businesses. After looking thru the menu, I decided to order their Braised Beef Ramen and hubby ordered their Pong Pong chicken(boneless) with a side of rice. Really appreciated the staff giving us a small plate with plastic spoon without us asking for our lil munchkin. The ramen wasn’t soupy which I expected because saw pics before hand. The Ramen had garlic flakes, cooked perfectly. The meat was good, not super chewy. My daughter enjoyed eating the cut up ramen I feed her. The pong pong boneless chicken was good but felt like I was chewing candy. It was pretty sweet for my taste. Also took their menu home and catering prices seem reasonable. I’d definitely come back here again and try their Phở.

I’ve been to this restaurant many times since my original review and I’m never disappointed. Their beef phở broth is one of the most flavorful broths that I’ve had in the area. I swear it has kept me healthy this winter! Even the chow mein that comes with the lunch specials has a lot more flavor than most places. I had the salt and pepper fish filet today and it was yummy!

Have been feeling like I’ve been coming down with a cold so I thought Phở would be the perfect thing for lunch. I ordered over the phone for pick up and it was ready within 15 minutes. I got a medium chicken phở that was a good portion and was very good. It was hardy with lots of noodles and chicken and for pick up the stored the noodles, chicken, and additional toppings separately, which kept everything fresh. I was surprised when I came to pick it up almost every table was taken!

I liked it! First of all, this place serves a variety of cuisines and this review is mostly on the Chinese dishes except for the Thai salad we got. Thai Shrimp salad: Amazing! The flavor was so «Thai» if that makes any sense. It definitely had that kick in spiciness, the sourness of the lime, herby lemongrass, and sweetness from. probably sugar(but that’s typical). Anyways, great balance. The shrimp comes out warm too and you know it was cooked fresh. Combination pan-fried noodle: delicious! The noodles were very crispy and flavorful. The ingredients on it included a variety of meats with vegetables smothered in the sauce. Great combination. Pong Pong chicken wings: Also good! This reminded me of San Tung wings in SF. I actually tried to make some wings taste like San Tung and my recipe actually tasted like 88’s wing sauce, which was great! The outside was also crispy so they did a great job cooking it too. Green bean beef: One of their less unique dishes, but still good. Green beans were fresh and cooked well. The dish itself was a bit too salty, but otherwise still satisfied a vegetable craving. We even bought their home-made peanuts. Salty, sweet, and crisp. Yum! From the quality of our food, I could tell everything was cooked fresh and it was delicious. The workers there are also very nice. As far as the Chinese food goes, it’s good. So far so good! Will definitely come back.

I am a cat who absolutely loves loves LOVES it when I find a place that ends up going far beyond my expectations. That is what happened to me when I stepped paw into 88 noodle house! ^ ^ I came here after some last minute trick or treat candy shopping at the nearby Wal Mart as a friend recommended the place to me. Seeing it from the outside, I almost thought it was closed. Seemed small and tiny from the looks of it, but my friend insisted of its greatness, so we went in. Surprisingly neat and tidy inside, and actually not too small. We were seated and given menus. The selection here is pretty interesting. They have a variety of Chinese and Vietnamese dishes, and even a Thai dish which I found interesting to mix in. Normally I find that places that prepare multiple kinds of ethnic foods tend to not be the best, but you never know! I ended up ordering the Bun Ga Cha Gio while my friend got the Chicken fried rice. Both dishes came out quite quickly and I was pleased at how my bowl was prepared. Upon tasting it, Wow! I can honestly say that this is one of the best dishes of this kind I have had. They prepared the chicken in this dish so perfectly. Filled with strong flavor, not dry at all, loved it. I had a taste of my friends fried rice. You know, I have had a lot of fried rice in my life, but the way they prepared their fried rice was amazing to me. Very well flavored and perfectly fried and mixed. Probably the best fried rice I have ever had, and I dont say that lightly. Service was very nice and our waters were always full. Like I mentioned earlier, from the outside, this place does not look like much, but I can guarantee to you that if you give 88 Noodle House a try, I feel you will love it ^ ^ Two paws up and will definitely be a returning cat! *chirp!*

Pretty good food overall. They served veggie hot and sour soup today and it was delicious! I really liked the flavoring of the food — I ordered the salt and pepper prawns and quite enjoyed the flavoring. The chow mein which was included was also delicious. For less than $ 10, I thought this was an amazing deal! Will definitely be back!

88 Noodle House is next to Yo Sushi(cash register area looks so ghetto!). and has 15 – 20 cramped tables.(10 more than Yo). 88 Noodle House is misnamed(thinking Phở 88 intended name, top listing on take out menu, name would have turned away potential patrons who don’t Phở. menu: almost complete vietnamese menu, complete(typical) chinese menu, some thai delights eats: phở tai gan(7.95) looked medium –broth very sweet, slight beef and msg tastes –beef typical tai slices, not crumbled up meat(to save $$) –gan present too in smaller pieces. –noodles typical perfection, didn’t notice it as nothing was lacking. –10% off on noodle dishes 22 – 50. –quality similiar to oaktown without the msg, beefy broth. 3.5 stars footnotes: –menu pricing reasonable, animates high protein cost. –lunch special(6.75−7.50) chinese food choices –not sure about the thai, chinese offerings, guaranteed the vietnamese menu is legit! meets oaktown standards, not san jose’s.
