Place is a bit over-rated in my opinion. Very crowded and small.

The plain donut was a glob of lard. The worst bite of anything ever. I had an errand in Marshfield so I searched for«cinnamon bun» in Marshfield. This place popped up. A ton of good reviews, primarily for the donuts. It is small, and busy, but they moved fast. The servers seemed patient and cheerful, though, which is always a good thing. True to the reviews, however, they were out of a lot of stuff(at 10:15 a.m.), including cinnamon buns. But the plain donuts looked good so I got one of those instead. I got in my car intending to eat it by the water a few blocks down but I couldn’t wait and so took a bite as I was driving away. It was like eating a glob of lard. The whole inside of my mouth tasted like industrial grease. The inside of the donut crumbled like large clumps of sand. The worst bite ever. I was hungry, too, but couldn’t eat any more of the donut.(I ended up at the other end of Marshfield at Dockside Donuts where I got probably the best cinnamon bun ever.) In that so many people rate this place highly, and that it seems so cute, I’m horrified to have to give it one star. But if your thing is donuts and you can’t do a plain donut, what option have you given me?

The kind of donuts that great local shops make. This place is a family favorite, and we are just in town one week per year. The coffee is really good with loads of great flavors. I always go for the iced coffee. In fact, they almost always have samples out. It is definitely a tiny spot and is crowded in the AM. Try the muffins too!

Busy, crowded, tiny — but the portions and quality are unbelievable. One of those«hidden gems» albeit I am sure everyone knows about it from Scituate to Plymouth. The egg, sausage and croissant sandwich I got my wife was huge and just plain fabulous. I ordered an omelet and explained just give just the filling, not a sandwich — and they provided a full-blown omelet. Both had fruit on the side and were just plain great. Highly recommend this place.

Best place to get iced coffee or tea in town. Make sure to get there sort of early to get the doughnut you want. Iced peanut butter cup is a go to for the peanut butter lovers.

Love their sangria ice tea and donuts! The service is always warm and friendly. I have friends that die for their breakfast sandwiches, but the only one I ever had was not my favorite thing. I’m much more into the donuts, doesn’t matter which kind. This place is well known and deserves the praise! There is so much more to life than corporate Dunkin Donuts!

This place is unbelievable! As we prepare to head down to Marshfield for two weeks, we are already negotiating what we will eat first at The Coffee Shack — the decadent donuts, or the unbelievably delicious breakfast sandwiches… I’m sure on our first visit back, we will order some of both. This place is amazing, and a «must visit» if you are in the area!

Was craving a donut recently and looked up reviews of places nearby. I read the great reviews of the donuts here so I tried them this weekend. They definitely lived up to the high praise. The donuts were very high quality, very delicious. You’d be hard pressed to find a better donut anywhere on the south shore.

Best donuts around! Tried coconut raspberry jelly stick, honey dip jelly, honey dip lemon. All A++. Coffee wasn’t the best. But donuts make up for that.

The only good thing about this place are the donuts. The donuts are better than Honey Dew, Dunkin Donuts, Marylou’s, etc… The customer service is horrible. The coffee is average or below average. The breakfast sandwiches are overpriced, bland, and stale. There is hardly any room to move around inside. The parking lot is small and hard to get in and out of. I don’t recommend it except for the donuts.

Fantastic and imaginative donuts — solid quality, friendly folks. Get there early — there’s a line out the door. Favorite was chocolate with coconut BUT my kids liked the chocolate-chocolate and the cinnamon buns, I’m not formally a coffee drinker but the ice coffee with chocolate hit the spot…

Didn’t bother with the coffee, but they have the best donuts I have ever had. I know donuts. Get there early, they sell out and be ready for a line.

3.5 stars. Pros: It’s close to my home(could be viewed as a con sometimes!) Lots of kinds to choose from Staff is decently friendly Cons: Wicked small place and no room to move so its always really stuffy and cramped Even though there’s a lot to choose from, you must get there early for best choices. I last went on a Thursday morning in July at 10:45 and a few kinds only had 2 – 5 doughnuts left. The doughnuts here are the heavy, cakey kind so if that’s what you like you’ll love them at the coffee shack. I like doughnuts softer and not as dense as these so that’s my main gripe about them. My favorite is probably the honey dipped jelly.

Cons– Wish my belly could fit more Coffee Shack donuts and not gain a pound. Other«fast donut» franchises has destroyed America’s perception of what a donut should be. Pros– This place could singlehandedly change Americas perception of what a donut place should be. Each donut, regardless of flavor, type or color could not be more tasteful and full of flavor. We had a weekend getaway with friends, and every start of the day, we could not get to the Coffee Shack fast enough for the donuts and coffee. Their selection is diverse enough for every palette, from the standards like the honey dipped, jelly and double chocolate to the more adventurous peanut butter filled chocolate covered donut, HOLY F#$% awesomeness(Jack Black Kung Fu Panda voice). Be sure to get there early and, yes there will be a line tighly packed into the shop, so be sure to shower, wear deodorant and brush your teeth as the world does not need to smell your stinky breath and butt. Also, leave the L Street Tavern attitude at home, there will be a lot of people ordering all kinds of donuts and coffee(upside of this is you can hear all the cool stuff people order and get ideas). Also they have solid bacon or ham or sausage, egg and cheese on english.

This is more of a donut place than a coffee place. They call the vanilla cream donuts«whoopie pie donuts» for some reason.

Went here with a co-worker but the coffee was just okay. It was overpriced and crowed. Your better off going to dunkin donuts

The donuts here are perfect. tons of different flavors made fresh each morning. My favorites are the whoopie pie donut, chocolate glazed and jelly glazed. You won’t find a better donut anywhere.

Delicious, perfect hand-made donuts and many flavors of coffee! I hated donuts… actually the mere thought of them made me gag, before trying theirs. I list the Coffee Shack as one of five things about Marshfield I will miss when I move far away this month. :( The elusive chocolate buttercrunch donut lives here and it is not to be missed! The donuts are crisply coated and soft/cakey inside. In other words, perfect! My poor husband was woken up at 5:00 am several times to get me a donut from here during my pregnancy. Get there early to get the best selection!

Very good coffee… OUTOFTHISWORLDDOUGHNUTS !! real hand made donuts. great variety like honey dipped jelly, coconut chocolate etc. friendly staff. reasonable prices. Selection can be limited if you go late, especially on a weekend in season. I will never eat a donut from Dunkin’s again. wished I lived near here.
